I have a friend that had that little Civic and he is constantly talking about the gas mileage it got and how come they don't do it any more. I think the government has mandated higher safety standards to satisfy the insurance companies and now its costing all of us. As a motorcycle rider I think that every car should be as light as possible for the best mileage possible. My Trans Am gets 25 mpg on the hwy and my freinds Corvette gets 30. My sunfire only gets 32 and its a small car.

I put on the smaller front tire 500 miles ago and thought I would express my opinion. It definitely makes a difference. At parking lot speeds it is easier to turn. I didn't really have a problem with the way it handled before but thought I would try it. After I wear this one out I will go back to stock size because the wind blows it around a lot more now.

I have a Motion Pro synchronizer. It seems like a lot of times when I am almost done the mercury separates. After that I am afraid to make any adjustments. Any body have any suggestions to avoid this?

Preliminary Report on Pirelli MT66 ROUTE tires

The first rear tire after my crash lasted 15000 but I was riding pretty slow. Other than that its usually 8 to 12000 miles on a rear tire. -
saddlebag bolt stripped, any suggestions?
midnightventure replied to Brian D.'s topic in Watering Hole
You can try using a sharp center punch. Hold it against the outside edge of the bolt head and strike sharply several times. If it breaks loose you can probably remove it with your fingers. -

Pirrelli and Metzeler are the same company. If you call Metzeler customer service it is answered Pirrelli and then they transfer you to a Metzeler rep. -
My wife and I are going to be in Biloxi next weekend. Does anybody from down there know of a motorcycle rental close to Grand Casino?

A response to popular demand: a Cowpuc Classic

The county assessors can't see but one side because they are so afraid of losing tax money. What I can't figure out is why people I know and like, when elected to office always seem to want to raise taxes. Maybe it is only the progressives that run. Our local shool board is always loaded with teachers spouses. The teachers aren't allowed to run. It would seem that the spouses would also not be allowed to run because they have a vested interest in increasing spending. -
I ran the d404s the first 45000 miles. I was always complaining about the grooves the highway dept was cutting in all the roads because they made the bike feel like I wasn't in control. Then I switched tires to a different tread pattern and all of a sudden the bike didn't follow the rain grooves any more. Just changing the back tire made a tremendous difference.

I think Microsoft finally did something right with Windows XP. I have three computers running it and they all do pretty good.

Thats been my experience. They don't want to prep a new bike and then it doesn't sell and the gas and battery start getting old. I was surprised a couple of years ago. I was sitting on a Yamaha FZ1 and a salesmen came up and asked me if I wanted to test ride it. I was in the middle of a poker run with several friends so I couldn't go.

How do you tell if they are a 1%er since there are so many in the biker community that try to look the same?

Thats a good Missouri boy leading them. If that piece of crap from Duke (Quinn Snyder) hadn't been the Missouri coach we might have got him. I used to think Coach K at Duke ran a clean program but after seeing how Snyder did things I have to wonder where he learned the crooked stuff.

I had one for a short time and didn't like it.

To the fellow whose aux plug doesn't work any more. It probably has come unplugged inside the fairing. 2002 Shock shot craps in the 20000s. Cruise control quit about 30000. Both fixed under warranty, the shock after a argument. 58000 miles now and seems to be doing pretty good.

I like the long tire iron with the curve in it. I have a couple of those and a straight one.

The dealership told me to use a blow dryer. Heat it a little, start peeling it up and keep the heat on it while you are doing it. Worked very well for me.

You need a way to protect the brake disk. I mount an old car wheel with plastic tubing around the rim in a vice. The brake disk goes down inside he wheel and doesn't touch anything. I have a lever mounted to the wall above the wheel that pushes down on a 2x4 cut off at an angle to break the bead. They definitely need balanced. I melt lead wheel weights and pour it slowly down a steel plate. It comes out thin. I use double stick tape to apply it to the wheel. I made a fixture with rollers from an old garage door and use a piece of copper tubing for an axle. You will need several tire levers. It can be a big job but I think I get better every time I do it. I have found a independent that will mount a tire I bring in for 25 dollars. If I had known about him before I got all set up I probably never would have started doing it myself.

Just south of Camdenton there is Hahatonka State park. It isn't very far off from 54. Has an old castle ruin that looks out over a spring that flows into Lake of the Ozarks. It is a left turn and I'm pretty sure there are signs pointing the way. What the people from Arkansas say about the Pig Trail is true. Great ride.

The models with Z in the number are not compatible. Only the ones with cbus work. I also have gone from the 6 CD changer to MP3 player. Like it much better and it takes up almost no room.
