  1. You should be able to use any tire valve stem valve. Larry OOPs, I think you need the entire valve assembly. Yamaha lists it as a air valve - part # SKU: 4V1-23184-L0-00 CAP, AIR VALVE 1 $2.93 BTW what rake tree company did you use ?
  2. I agree. Hopefully next year. Larry
  3. I'll be traveling US - 12 Sunday. The old Detroit-Chicago road which back in the day was somewhat like Route 66. No slab riding. That route is scenic with small towns dotted along the way. Approximate distance is about 200 miles from my place. A very leisurely ride of about 4-5 hrs. at average speeds of 50-55 mph depending on stops. Carl's route should be nice too as that would be mostly, if not all countryside riding, especially if skirting the bigger towns. Anyhow if anyone wants to join up with us their more than welcome. Larry
  4. Anyone out there with a Midnight drivers seat who is looking to have Rick Bulter do his seat mod let me know as I'll trade you even up. While the Mrs loves her seat mod Rick did to the passenger seat I've found that I really prefered the firmer original drivers seat. My bike has the studs on the seats so will require the same when trading. Thanks, Larry
  5. I think they were dropped in favor of the now current ones in the VR store. larry
  6. Guess that would be classified as a hang fire Dan, Ya think? flb_78 that would explain a lot on that gun now. Probably wrong powder there and too much at that. Larry
  7. WOW that certainly would get ones attention. Certainly happy to know the owner is OK with nothing more then some minor injuries. Of course the owner probably won't be able to repair/replace that gun under any warranty claim from the ammo company. Other then rolling my own ammo I always stick with reputable companies and seeing these photo's just reinforces those opinions. Larry
  8. TuffTom your post is still there and not deleated as you think. It's just buried a bit since it's been over a week when it was posted and the last response was later the same day, June 17th. So no need to leave just yet over this. Just my homble opinion, Larry
  9. Sounds like a good plan to me. I'm in as well Larry
  10. It'll never matter minin. You lot is cast in stone with the Don. Larry
  11. Good you changed out that tire TJ. It was looking rather thin when I saw it. You also got a pretty decent deal on the mounting and balance. Have fun on your UP trip. Larry
  12. Apparentley Dale, the owner has had a change of plans since he's been there still for two more years. Also next year he's going to host the Trike Talk. com BBQ & as a base for their activities. Larry
  13. http://thoroughbred-motorsports.com/ I like them myself. Pretty neat machines if I may say so. Personaly I don't really consider them motorcycles thou they are classifed as such due to the car coponents. They're trikes plain and simple IMHO. But if I could afford one I'd give it consideration after a test drive. Larry
  14. Ok Just where is this rally registration form at? I've looked thru the site here as well as the signing up on the calendar. I've forwarded my info/payments for the dinner/shirt package to Kevin already. What else needs doing on my part? Maybe I'm overlooking the obivious somewhere here. Larry
  15. Nice trike rally it was hey Monkie. It was nice meeting you and the Mrs too. Wish I had had a chance to chat with you more but with so much going on it just didn't happen. We didn't even decide to attend till 2 days before it was time to leave so had a lot of rushing getting packed & on the road to get there. The Trike Talk Rally was really nice and it was great seeing so many variations of trikes there. We were the only ones representing the Yamaha Ventures too. I just saw on the web site that next years rally will be in the same place and same weekend as this years was. I hope to attend it again and maybe talk a few other Venture riders into going to it. For those interested it'll be June 22nd thru 26th in Maggie Vally, NC http://www.triketalk.com/index.php Larry
  16. One XL These were really nice shirts Don so wanting an extra Larry
  17. That bike was on the top of my list to begin with when I bought the RSV. My plans then was to add a fairing, trunk and better seats. Momma says spend the extra $$$ and get the RSV already set up, ready to ride. Smart woman. Still have a soft spot for those Nomads thou. Enjoy the ride. Larry
  18. Ain't that the truth. I know I talked to a bunck of folks who's names currenty escape me but going thru all the pics I know I meet some, seen em wrenching or whatever. Larry
  19. Wow that Swifty sures been a trouble maker lately eh? Maybe that's why he has the handle he has.? He hits and runs so gotta stay ahead of the law so to speak. And here we all thought it was cause he rode a supposably fast 1st gen. Nope don't think that is it. Wonder how many folks actually have him in their sights? I'm sure he'll eventually get his just rewards cause you can run only so long before that long arm grabs ya. Larry
  20. Yep great pics Monty. Patti you'll just have to shop for your own trike then It doesn't have to be a big RSV either. I've seen some really nice trikes out there much smaller and perhaps a bit easier for you to handle. Some Honda vtx's come to mind as well as some Road Stars. Larry
  21. LMAO now with some of the posts. I used to work in a shop ( golf course equipment) where one guy seemed to grab duct tape for just about any reason. Then later when it had to be fixed guess who got the job of cleaning the mess and doing a proper repair. Most times if he'd of just taken a few minutes longer he could of fixed it right to begin with. It got bad enough I actually swiped his roll of tape and hid it. Now that was funny, him looking high and low for the roll of tape. Larry
  22. Oh great now we're resorting to duct tapping the bikes together?? Did I say I hate duct tape on anything mechanical? As a retired mechanic I hate to see people using duct tape on any vehicle, be it car truck or bike. Maybe in a pinch as a temporary fix but that would be the limit. That stuff never lastes long in the elements and then leaves nothing but a sticky mess when it will eventually fail. Did I say I hate duct tape on anything but duct work? Sorry for venting but this is a pet peave of mine. Larry
  23. I'll 2nd that plug. Besides great looking I don't think much could get thru to the radiator core to damage it. Larry
  24. Way to go Patti. I want to see you riding in on the drivers seat when you guys come to the International Rally. Larry
