  1. What a year it has been. I let my membership lapse last year, just as things started happening to me. In Feb. my mothernlaw passed away. Then in June on a trip across the Cherohalla Skyway my bike "Angel" shorted out and basicly burnt up all the wiring, the radio, the cb,blowed all lights,as well as blowing out the digital dash.I got her running again then in August I rode up to Tellico Plains again with KJV4 to meet up with the Vogle ride in bunch. We met up and had a little fellowship but then had to head for home . I got home late that friday evening feeling great after the ride. But then it happened. I went to bed tired but happy and was awakened around 4:00am hurting in my chest. Long story short--it was a heart attack. @ stents later and here I am still dieting eating lots of grilled food --very little sweets-- have lost around 25 lbs. and feel a lot better. Then on the 16th of March my fathernlaw passed away and e are now dealing with all the estate stuff. Whew like I said it has been a rough year---but God is still good and I'm able to get back in the saddle. See ya'll around Craig:Cool_cool36:
  2. Annie The only place I can think of that they could rent a trailer would be u-haul. That being said I would think that the total cost for a three mo. rental would be very high. It might be better for them to go to Lowes and buy one of their trailers/use it for the 3 mo. and sell it at the end. But mabe you are thinking about trailers for them to pull behind the bikes. In that case I don't know if any place rents those. Craig
  3. I agree about not taking the bike down on the cobblestones. When my daughter had her wedding there we took a bike tour. They have these 3 wheel bike taxis which are pedaled by college kids. You can tour the historical district in one at a much slower pace. Have fun and be safe Craig
  4. Wonderful news Cindy! Gonna continue prayers for him to get his dues!
  5. I'm sooooooooooooooooooo jealous! Looks like a great trip!
  6. Looks good George. One word of caution. Yuo have to be careful how you go into, and out of some driveways The extra length sticking out behind will drag sometimes. I have a small cooler that we carry at times and I have had it drag b4, scare the beejesus out of you if you ain't expecting it.file:///C:/Users/Craig/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg Some of the steep convenience store drives have like a small ramp in or out. Just be aware and be careful. Craig
  7. Lew, I will get you some stuff. It will be automobile related, but some could also be m/c type related as well. I'll get with you later. Craig
  8. Glad ya'll made the trip safely Squidly. Wish we could have gotten together when you blew thru Ga.,but I understand time constraints you were under. I think as little as Mini is she could probly ride Zeus. That is one big feller.
  9. Well GWeck I guess you can be forgiven for anything--even a wing! Looks good{for a wing}. But it ain't a Venture. Ol cyote61 will probly ride with you now, since all he could find was one of them wings too. Heal fast friend--thats the main thing! Craig
  10. More prayers will be forthcoming from Ga. as well. Craig

  14. My wife and I went for breakfast this morning then headed south. As we got to Acworth it started snowing on us. By the time we got down to Kennesaw it was going like gangbusters. We shopped a while then headed back north towards home. We stopped for a late lunch in Acworth and by the time we finished lunch it had quit snowing. We got back home to Calhoun and it hadn't even done anything but rain with a few flakes thrown in. It was still a good day since we didn't stay home and be bored.

  16. Hey Jeff Good to hear the news. Did you get the walker with the wheels on it. If so it will slide easier if you cut a tennis ball in half and put on the back legs!
  17. Hey Don--hang in there boss. Patsy and I "tried quitting" about 16 years ago.( I can't believe it was that long ago) Anyway --we were doing good or so I thought. We had been quitting for about 3 months- then one night I woke up around 330 and she wasn't in bed. I got up thinking she was in the bathroom--nope--looked all thru the house & was getting worried when I saw it. A glow thru the kitchen window coming from the carport. I opened the back door and there was my loving wife sitting there sucking on a cigerette. I got mad --sat down with her and grabbed her pack and lit up again. She had only made it 1 week I found out later. I tried to quit a few times after that with no sucess but when we stopped together 2 years ago it has been much better. Now I can breathe better,I feel better and food taste better. That is now my biggest problem. I have always weighed around 220 to 230 from my mid 20's on,I'm 6'6" so that wasn't too bad a weight. In the last 2 years I have gotten up to 250 and that I don't really like. But we are going to start walking more and I'm gonna get the treadmill back out and set it up. I will be continueing to pray for your sucess in quitting and not having any more heath issues Craig:thumbsup:
  18. Prayers for a complete recovery forthcoming from the Long family here in Ga.
  19. Hey Don, Patsy and I quit together using Chantix 2 years ago. We told no one we were going to quit. We just went to the Dr. and got the prescription& ordered the meds. We quit 2 weeks b4 Christmas. It was hard but because we were tired of hacking and being short of breath we were determined. I feel better now but I do not preach quitting or try to "reform" anyone. That always made me mad for others to do that to me. Hang in there sir and know that Patsy and I will be praying for you to keep the strength to just say no to the urges to light up. It does get easier with time. Craig
  20. I grew up riding off road bikes. I bought a 73 cb 350 from my sister in 74 and rode it for all that summer. In 75 one of my cousins ask if he could borrow my bike to ride that day with a buddy of his. I let him and when they got back that afternoon his buddy wanted to trade me his 72 honda 350 street or trail bike. I told him I would trade for $350. which was what I had given my sister for the bike. He went home & got the money and we traded. I rode that bike for the rest of that summer till my daughter was born in Aug. I need some money then so I sold it for $250. 00 with the understanding that I would get another bike later. Fast forward to later. 2001 my wife and I were just tooling around on Sun. afternoon and saw what we thought was a wing in a yard with a for sale sign on it. We went past it and Pat said "You should go back and look at that Gold "Goldwing". She says she created a monster. The wing turned out to be a 84 Venture Royale and I bought it for cheap. I figured that if I decided riding wasn't for us I could always sell it for my money back.We rode Goldie for a year then I saw a RSV,my heart went pitter patter. Then later I got to ride one---ohh heaven,I could streach out my 6'6" frame and not hit my knees on the fairing. I am still riding "Angel" and will keep on doing so unless Mama Yama decides to come out with something besides a color change. I lik the non standerd color of Angel, she doesn't have the "whine", she starts 1st time every time, and is very comfy. Best of all is "no payments" Ride safe Craig
  21. My brother sent me this and I thought it was great. http://www.bornagainamerican.org/
  22. I was off today but needed to go by the store for something. I decided to get Angel out and at least ride up there. I finished my business there and started back home at 1:00 pm. Decided to take a "shortcut" so here I am back home 4 hours later. I was really thinking about all my northern brothers and sisters stuck in their homes because of all the ice and snow. Nearly wiped that big ol' grin off my face--nearly--but not quite! Hope ya'll hurry and get rid of that crap. It is getting close to being full time riding time in dixie. Be safe Craig:grandpa:
  23. Thanks ya'll. Because of this post I also read the post mede by Gregory Gill about a year ago about his experience. I am still researching different options. I also found out that I can possibly get some thru Sams Club. I'm not a costco member so that isn't an option. Thats just one more reason I love this site;you can find out about more than just Ventures! See ya, Craig:bighug:
  24. I went this week for a hearing test. I knew that I had a High frenquency loss since that is why I had a medical discharge from the Army. It has gotten worse over the years and my wife ,daughter and even my son/n law were on me to get it checked. I have "ski slope" moderate to severe loss. The higher the sound the worse it is. Now the question is the Audiologist recommended some 16 channel digital aids for 2000 each. I have done some searches online and have found some companies with12,16 & even 32 channel ones for about 1/2 this price. But I have no idea whether these other companies are better or worse since I'v had no experience with aids before. They all show 45 days trial periods, and have anywhere from 2 to 3 year warrenty.Anyone here have any experience with hearing aids and have good or bad things you know about em? I may end up having to spend 4000 on a set but that would buy a lot of toys if I didn't have to spend that much. TIA Craig
