You will probably want to get into VA or NC and you will be pretty safe. As Minimuffin said, we do get a few storms here or there, but it is relatively safe for winter precipitation in the piedmont area. Even when we do get snow or ice, it only lasts a day. I live just outside of Richmond, VA just off of I295 and you are more than welcome to leave you vehicle and trailer at my house while you heading South. If we can help with anything just let me know.

Many thanks to Riderduke who came down to my house this evening and helped me repair my clutch. We upgraded to the PCW spring and pressure plate. Took her for a test ride and she is back normal now. Thanks again Duke.

I will check on my next oil change, but I have tried not to overfill it because of what I have learned here and usually have 1/2 -3/4 on the sight glass after my oil change. I guess I may not be getting her perfectly upright when checking:think:

I just buy a 1 gallon jug of Rotella and put it all in when I change the oil. The gallon is the perfect amount when changing the filter also, how do you get away with 1/2 qt less?

I think that the main goal should be that we are helping a worthy cause. I too like the idea of St. Judes, but as long as we are supporting a worthy organization I am all for it.

I did an oil change about 1500 miles ago and running Rotella (5-30 I think?). This problem started about 1000K miles ago. Btw this is my 3rd oil change with rotella. -
I wish I had the $, it looks like a great trailer. I would love to have one like that, but it'll have to wait a couple of years. Good luck selling it.

Thanks for all the help guys, I ordered my kit from PCW today and they said I would have it by Thursday. I am going to get with Riderduke to replace it myself. BTW, Dave I sent you a PM about getting together next week. -

I had a similar problem when I wired my trailer lights. It turned out that I had a bad unit as many others have had. I got the hoppy unit and it works perfectly. Return the modulite and get a hoppy to install, it will save frustration in the end.

Thanks Dave, I would rather do it my self and not even have to deal with the dealer. Where is the best place to get the kit and what exactly do I need? -

Thanks, I call the dealer and see what I can set up. BTW, is it ok to ride until I can get it on to the dealer? -

How hard is it to replace the spring? Is this something I can do or should I take it to the dealer to be covered under warranty and probably wait weeks on them? How much will it cost? -
I know that Pegscraper has a thread going about his 96, but not sure if that is all relative to my 2007. I have noticed that my clutch is slipping some lately, though it is only when the bike cold. Once she is warmed up and ridden for 5-10 minutes all is good. Then today it 'clunked' going into to 1st gear when I first took off (I had let it run for about 2 minutes before leaving). I didn't think a lot about until it 'clunked' going into 1st again tonight when I left work. Any thoughts on what is wrong and how to fix it? Should I change the fluid? DO I need new springs or what? BTW I have a little over 29k miles on it now.

You could make one out of wire shelving from Home depot or lowes. With a few a metal plates and bolts you can have a rack for about $15.

I got the same result..................the funny thing is I think I would like to have a FJR in the garage. I wouldn't want to only have an FJR, but it sure would be fun for the twisties and I think it would be up my alley for a 'sport' bike.

Check out this link http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/ It is a forum much this one, but of course focused on smoking meats. They have a lot of good information. I do some smoking here and there and have a friend who is into it hardcore (he just spent 2K on a new smoker). If you ever have any specific questions about what you want to smoke, feel free to shot me an e-mail.

Somehow I am just getting around to this thread, but thank you for all the updates on Bob. We met him in Kitchener this summer and he is 1 H*** of a nice guy. So sorry to hear about the accident, but am glad to hear that he is making good progress. Though not an accident I experienced a similar situation with my father a few years ago and understand how difficult it is for the whole family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob, you, and the whole family.

Sorry I missed it, but I'll have an extra cone here in MB in your honor. Hopefully next time I won't be on 'vacation' with the in-laws.

We are still keeping a close eye on the storm. We are supposed to be leaving MB on Sunday heading your way to fish Mon & Tues, keeping our fingers crossed:fingers-crossed-emo that the fishing doesn't get messed up. From the looks of it we will be OK as far as rain goes, but not sure about what the ocean will be like that close after it passes. We will make our final decison Fri night probably

RSV Seat Questions or Maybe Pants?
nkbjones replied to ebat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have to say that the 2nd gen is a very comfy bike, but monkey butt has continued to be a problem especially on hot days or very long rides. I have tried powder and lighter pants (khaki cargos) and they have helped, but the sheepskin has made a huge difference. I now combine the 3 and have not had monkey butt problems since. You can't go wrong with the IKEA sheeskin, it is well worth the $40.- 27 replies
