Might be time for a mod???? I was riding to work today and noticed in the reflection from the car in front of me one of the lightbar lights was out. Got to work and one of the light lens was cracked all the way across. Seal broken=no light. :-( Any suggestions on replacements?

Anyone got any suggestions for the best GPS unit for a motorcycle ? I need one that I can see well, big screen I quess. Probably could not hear it anyway (maybe with a ear phone jack plug). I plan on maybe just sticking it on windshield when need to use. I borrowed my sisiter's GPS unit the other day on a trip to Louisville,KY, used it in the car. I likey it, neet how it worked so well. My wife actually wants to buy one. So I agreed as long as I get one that I can use on the bike also. I know that I will have to probably spend around $ 250.00 - $ 350.00 I apreciate any and all your suggestions. Thanks.... James

We are going with friends to Savannah in October and were wanting to know if there is anywhere reasonable to stay in the Historic District. We would love to be close to the water. Any helpful suggestions on where to stay and what to do and see would be most welcome. The Lady and Sons is a must, that I know. Thanks for helping.

I have a 2006 RSTD and have been thinking of adding a stereo of some kind,CD player,MP3, whatever and some speakers. However,I am kind of a freak in that I like to keep my bike as close to stock as possible so I am asking for people to tell me what they did to add some tunes to their RSTD...... Any suggestions are welcome. Also if it required me to beef up my battery or electrical that would be good to know too. I really dont care about GPS,CB,etc.Just some tunes on a long ride or some awesome rock on a short run........... Thanks everyone!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for the passenger handgrips?? I am looking for something for the passenger to hang on to. I am changing seats to the Mustang, and the seat strap will be gone. Not that the existing seat strap is a great thing to hang onto. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My bike is a 2008 Royal Star tour deluxe. -
We are finalizing the plans for our upcoming trip and have a few questions regarding the Shenandoah Valley, riding Skyline Drive from Front Royal south to the Blue Ridge Parkway, then to the southern end of the BRP. We will be coming from Cape Charles VA to Fredricksburg, then Front Royal. Any suggestions regarding the travel from Cape Charles to Front Royal? How long should we expect to spend on these portions of the trip... How much time does it take to make the run down Skyline Drive? Any tips on points of interest during this section? We would like to take our time, riding leisurely, enjoying the views, and tent camping along the way during this part of the trip. Internet access in the evenings will be desired. How much time should we allow for the portion of the trip down the BRP? Same as above, any points of interest and camping suggestions. Randya recommended Carolina Hemlocks Park, which sounds great, but we would like some additional suggestions just in case the timing does not work out. Thanks! Don

My 02 RSMV with 112k needs the forks rebuilt again. I had this done over three years ago with the additions of Baron's gold emulators. It is now just like before, very rough on the road, rattling from hitting bumps and just plain annoying. When it was done before it was so solid for some time. Some suggestions would be appreciated. Could I drain and re-oil or do I need seals etc. There is no sign of leaking.

I have just purchased a 2008 Royal Star tour deluxe, and just love it. I have been riding for 11 years and my wife has recently taken an interest in riding with me. There is just one problem the rear seat, I am pleased so far with the front. What has worked for other people and there wives?? At this point I would like to just change the rear and am looking at the Corbin or the Mustang. I have had both on other bikes and like the Mustang better myself. So any suggestions?? Hey we want to find a nice camping area (car and pop-up) in the chicago area. We want to go into the aquarium and end up at Toyota stadium for the Jimmy Buffet concert. We will be coming from the Cleveland area if anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated trying to keep it cheap as possible to give the kids some kind of vacation this year.

Throttle - Auto Close

What causes the throttle to return to the closed position once the grip is released. The new '88 I have doesn't return by itself. It's like having a throttle lock on the control. Any suggestions? Dave -
I can't seem to find the #4 flat washer needed to modify the carb needle...My local hardware store has #4 split washers and #6 flat washers but no #4 flats..Home Depot only has #6 flat... Any suggestions? -
Looking for some help. The front light bar, stopped working. Switch? wiring? in the fairing? Any suggestions on a best place to start looking? Where do I find the fuses in the bike? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I went to a dealer in the next town, just to look at trikes and while I was there I spotted the Bushtec Roadstar. They almost had me sold on it. It looks wonderful and just what we need for our West Coast trip this summer. - I just can't get over the 4k price!! I read a few of the other posts on here about Bushtec and most have the same reaction - the price!! I like the idea that the quality / design is tops. I would hate to spend a few dollars less and not be happy with it. I wish there were other dealers locally that had different brands to compare with. I've got a month to find one, so if any of you have other suggestions, please speak up. craigr

My wife and I are going to St Louis, MO for a relatives birthday part around July 4th so we thought we would take a ride to the Ozarks first. We have not been there before so we are looking for some suggestions about lodging etc. We are going to leave on Wednesday July 1 and will need to be in the St Louis area by late afternoon on the 3rd, it does not leave us a lot of time we know that. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, just got my 84 venture yesterday. Been a vstar rider till now. I have no book on this bike and i'm kind of lost as to what/where everything is. Any suggestions on where I can go to read up? Also: My throttle is "sticky" and doesnt return to normal resting position on its own which is a "royale" (pardon the pun) pain. Any suggestions on adjustments for that? Thanks!! I just got off the phone with PCW and ordered a clutch kit for my 99 Venture. Well not the whole clutch kit, but the new improved spring, gasket, and full clutch disk. The guy I talked to was great. He asked me some questions about my bike to make sure I was ordering the right stuff for my situation. He didn't try to over sell me on anything. I mentioned this site and he said he has dealt with many of us here and everyone he has dealt with has had good success with these kits, even the trailer pullers. So does anyone have any feedback on how they liked the PCW kit, or how it is working. Any suggestions or things I should look for while doing the repair? Also is it something I should save and do at M.D. at Freebirds. I should be getting the parts on Monday or Tuesday, HOWS THAT FOR SERVICE!!! Big Mike....Who cant wait for M. D. YEEEHAWWW

Hello again, Had one more question. The bike I'm looking at has some pretty good scratches right on the high point of one of the sidebag covers. About 1/8in wide. Too deep to buff out. Was wondering if anyone had suggestions on quick ways to touch up. Bike is Blue. Does Yamaha make touch up paint? Anyone ever had a cover repainted? Ideas on cost? Maybe some well-placed pinstriping? I'm open to any/all suggestions. Ideally cheaper would be better as we're just buying the bike. I actually checked into buying new covers. I was told you have to buy a whole new bag, not just the cover. Quoted price was $960 for just the bag... no installation included. That a bit steep for my means. Hello Friends: My brother and I are planning a trip to Maine this August via PA,NJ,NY,CT,MA,VT,NH,ME. Just wanted to know if there are any spots along the way that are a must see or visit. We will be gone around 8-9 days and hope that my new friends here on the web can give me some advice as to places to visit, ride suggestions, or anything else we should consider for this trip. I just installed this, BUT... How do you tighten the 1/2" nut that sits behind the air nut? I don't have a wrench thin enough to do this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

OK folks, Eileen and I will be leaving for Boston in just a little while. I will start the radiation treatments on Monday. There will be 5 consecutive days of radiation and then we'll head home on Friday. In the meantime, if you have purchased a membership through PayPal, it should be indicated in your UserCP under "Paid Subscriptions". I think I have them all entered so if yours does not show up, then let me know. If you mailed a check, it may or may not be there yet. I have entered the information for the checks that I have received to date but I'm sure that some have not arrived yet. If you paid by check and don't see a paid subscription in your profile, don't worry about it, I'm sure your check will be here when I get home and I'll get everybody updated then. I really want to thank each and every one of you who have subscribed. Some have gone far beyond what was asked and please know that it is sincerely appreciated. I have been snowed under and have not been able to email each of you personally but please know that your kindness is so much appreciated. While I am gone, please give some thought to how you would like the forum to be handled. There are several ways I can do it now. We can have it open for all to read but only paid members to post. We can have it with a short trial membership but only members can read OR post once the trial ends. We can leave it just like it is and simply add some time of indicator to the posts that indicates supporting members. I am open to all suggestions and your opinions are what count. Give it some thought and let me hear your suggestions. I will have my computer with me and hopefully feel like checking in each day. I don't know what else to say at this point. I have my 87 stripped down so that is look like something out of a mad max movie. Had to take the saddle off, so I thought since it was off do a good detailing job. Any suggestions on how to clean it and whatever. D
