  1. Can anyone steer me in the right direction,I need a new service manual for my 1985 Venture. It as cone missing over the winter ,and there are no signs of it. All so Iam thinking of changeing out my antifreeze with something better.Like Royal Purple,or some other product that will help keep things a little cooler. Ant suggestions would be appreciated. And last what is the total amount of antifreeze in the bike system... Thank you Stan
  2. Thinking about some kind of headlight protection for the Alaska trip. Anyone tried this 3M product? I have their paint protection product on the Space Shuttle (RV) and it seems to work good. http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/motorcycle-headlight/
  3. Has anyone ordered from Troy and had to wait a long time or didn't receive their product? I placed and paid for my stuff on Feb. 19th and still no product. I've emailed him twice this week and no response. One reason I ordered from him is the recommendations of members from this site.
  4. Dan is working on another product for our Ventures. No info is going to be given out right now but.....if someone has an old saddle bag rail, be it rusted, or scratched, or damaged we could use it as a mock up piece. We need the ones that wrap around the outside of the bag. More shiny stuff to follow.....
  5. I don't know if anyone else was a fan of this product,..... but the magic word there is "was". I have been having a hard time finding the refill soap, so I contacted P&G and just got back a letter stating they are discontinuing the product. So, if you use Mr Clean car wash system, run out quick and score all the soap and sponges you can, while they are on the shelf. Wait till I tell the wife, she is always on me for "washing the bike again!", obviously I didnt do it enough.... if they're discontinuing the brand!! Dam, and that system worked SOOO well too!
  6. I saw this stuff mentioned on another website (and maybe even this site somewhere) and thought I would try it. I have LOTS of trouble with my sunglasses fogging up. In fact, they fog up EVERY time I put them on and stayed fogged up UNTIL I started moving. Not only is this dangerous, but it's annoying as hell...and very distracting when I first take off. This fogging occurs EVERY TIME during ANY KIND of weather!!!! Therefore I can safely state that I could reproduce this "fogging" anytime and every time. I received the product today...so before I used it, I went ahead and put my sunglasses on and sure enough after about 30 seconds the corners of the sunglasses fogged up enough to where I could not see. I went back in and coated my glasses with the Clarity DeFog It and then went back outside...put the glasses on and NO FOG...wore them for about 5-10 minutes before getting on the bike and going out for a ride (after all, it was a pretty day). So I am a fan now. More testing will follow, but I saw difference like NIGHT and DAY. Now about the product. It can be used on almost any type of lens (polycarbonate, glass, etc)...and special coatings of the lens will NOT interfere with use of this product. It's not expensive to buy (although you don't get much), and a TINY, TINY bit goes a LOOOOONG way!!! I used 3 VERY small dabs on the lens and it worked fine. The product comes packaged with only 5ml of fluid and a special cloth to use, but it's only $5.99 for the liquid and $7.99 for the dried towelettes. I just ordered another bottle and also this time the towelettes...and expect those to last a LONG TIME!!! https://www.defogitworks.com/everyday
  7. The Butler Saddlebag screws arrived yesterday, very nice, now if the shop would get my bike back to me, I could put them to use, it will be nice not to have to find an alan wrench when I want to remove them............... Thanks again for a quailty product..
  8. I know a lot of you are "older" (like me) so there's a good chance many of you have dentures (like me). In fact, I've had dentures (uppers and lowers) since I was 23 yrs old. I'm 28 years into my second set (pretty good by most standards). Up until about 3 years ago, they've fitted pretty good. The first set lasted about 5 years before the fit started deteriorating. Anyhoo... I HATE spending tons of money at the dental mechanic's for a re-line so I've been using a product called Sea-Bond Denturite http://www.dentist.net/sea-bond-denturite.asp to reline my dentures. I love this product ... it does a great job and lasts about 2 months. Anyway, all of a sudden none of the places I normally found it carry it anymore .... it's like it's just not available. If I can't find this product, I'm doomed! ... it will mean I have to go to the dental mechanic and have them re-do my dentures (too old to re-line according to them) to the tune of a few thousand dollars. Anyone else experiencing my dilemma? Got any suggestions?
  9. Thomas Liquid Stainless Steel My buddy ordered the kit he's going to try it on his black plastic parts on his scoot http://www.liquidstainlesssteel.com/learnhow.html

UTV Industry News Thursday, August 27, 2009 Yamaha Wins First Rhino Lawsuit; Jury Finds No Product Defect Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., Statement on Ray vs Yamaha Trial Verdict in Orange, TX Jury finds no product defect with Yamaha Rhino CYPRESS, Calif. – August 27, 2009 – Yamaha is saddened whenever anyone is injured in a Yamaha product-related accident, and we urge all our customers to follow the safety recommendations on our products and, as importantly, to always operate the products in a safe and responsible manner. The jury’s decision to reject the plaintiff’s claims and award no damages in this case is appropriate. The jury made a decision based on the facts. 14. Wow, these are awesome. Got them put on tonite and man, they really add to the front of the bike. Can't wait to try them out on our way to Florida this weekend. My compliments to him and his friend and the quality product they turned out. Way to go!!!
  15. I've read the previous posts regarding the Ride On tire protection system and have seen the good comments. Just wondering if anyone here has ever experienced any problems with the product?
  16. Hey sleepy, you were asking about the product so here you go... Over the last few months I’ve been experimenting with a product and I find it helps tremendously to keep the white walls clean and looking white. It provides a coating and helps seal the rubber to prevent brake and road dust from embedding in the rubber. The product is “Inflatable Boat Protectant” and it’s made by Strico Products Limited. I’ve been using this product for over ten years on my Zodiac and its great stuff. It’s designed to protect the boat material from UV rays and subsequently the coating also makes the material much easer to clean. I thought of using this product on the tires one day after having worked so hard to clean them up. I did want time to test the product before I mentioned it on the forum, it’s been almost three months and 6000 miles and thus far I’m more then satisfied with the results. *Please note this is ‘not’ a cleaner. The product is designed for PVC and Hypalon and is also suitable for Vinyl and rubber. It’s a milky liquid that you apply with a ‘small’ (about 1 sq. inch) sponge or piece of paper towel. Although this product has a dry finish and does not wash off with water *Do not put any product on the part of the tire that comes in contact with the road. I put two coats on in the spring to test the product and another two coats when I washed the bike a month later and haven’t put any since. Just wipe it on and let it dry about 10 minutes between coats, two coats should do (more is not necessarily better). I won’t have to put any more on for a while now as it seems to hold up very well, even after washing. It will dry with a bit of a sheen (which I think looks good) but more importantly it makes cleanup MUCH easer and you won’t have to scrub so hard or as often to get the ww’s clean. I wipe mine with a little Vim and I’m done. It helps keep the white white and the black black, I also use it on some of the vinyl. Use what you want to clean up the tires there are a lot of products that work just fine. Just make sure that when you put this stuff on that the tire is clean and dry. You won’t have to be as aggressive with the cleaning after applying the Strico. Now for the bad news, this bottle has lasted me for a while, I’m not sure where you can get it or if it’s still even available. I’ll go back to where I got this bottle and see what I can find out, in the meantime if anyone else happens to know where it can be found please lets us know.

Fellow riders: Microsoft wants to get people to use their "Live" search (competition for Google). So they are offering what is called "Cash Back". Here's the deal 1. You must have a Ebay account 2. You must have a Paypal account 3. You must go to http://search.live.com/cashback and get a chashback account. Then: (These are important) 1. Go to http://www.live.com/ and search for whatever product you want. If it is a qualified product you will see the "Cash Back" logo. 2. Click on the product and it will take you to the Ebay listing (DO NOT go to the Ebay listing without using LIVE or it won't work. 3. Buy your product the normal way paying through Paypal. You will notice the "Cash Back". 4. You will be charged the full amount - and in 30-60 days you will get your "Cash Back" deposited into your Paypal account. This is so that people do not return the product and they get ripped off. So far I have $251.99 - that I have saved..... Please keep in mind - I have no stake in this - I just use it. Make sure you read the terms and conditions and they are something you can live with... Have fun! Shep
  21. gonna try to post a link.http://gordsaluminumpolish.com/index.html. this stuff is the "cat's meow", for aluminum, chrome, LEXAN, and most other polishing jobs. i don't know this fella , gord, but i have used his product, and it DOES work. just thought i'd throw this up for whomever might be interested. just jt:happy34:
  22. I was wandering if I could get some feedback about how to eliminate background noise such as engine whine and wind noise in my headsets? It seems like the noise at times is worst than others. I have read earlier about some riders using the product made by Mic-Mutes. Is this the best thing to use or is there other things I might need to do? Thanks:mustache:
  23. I usually dont rant about stuff. Thats what I do for the magazine. But I recently did a product review for something that might be of interest to some folks. I know the Ventures have a fairings so its not an issue BUT if you have another ride or have a friend that has a windshield (like on a roadstar) and they keep whining about the buffetting I found something that works... well... to kill that wind. Its a vest that .....well...kills the wind. http://www.jacksflaps.com/index.htm I recently got one because the wind ripping around the sheild was pushing my beard up into my face. It works really well. If you decide that you are interested I HIGHLY reccommend that you call and talk to Jack personally. Hes a stand up guy with a good product. Check it out for yourself. Im done babbling..sorry.
  24. The web site for this product is gone. It it no longer available?
  25. I have just recieved an order from Newenough.com today. It arrived exactly as described and very quickly, (most stuff coming to Canada seems to take quite a while to arrive from most suppliers, probably our customs agents doing their (ahem!) job). I was surprised to see that they have a section for us hard to fit riders, and, as each product fits differently, they attempt to give you a chart with actual measurements so you tell what size will actually work for you depending on product line. I have to tell you if they wouldnt have had the chart I would have ordered a size or 2 smaller on the Joe Rocket mesh jacket I ordered. It fits well and I am very happy with it and the very good price they had on it. I thought that 85 bucks for the joe rocket jordan jacket with liner and padding in my size was an excellent deal as most places for something comperable were close to double. So thanks NewEnough for a job well done. Brian:cool10:
