Hey all, bought kuryakyn longhorn offset dually highway pegs 7980. Just can't seem to get them exactly where I want them. Couple questions? -The clamp that snugs to the engine guard. Does it make a diff. where it goes? Either facing forward or backward? My foot seems to be catching the longarm part with the clamp facing backtowards the bike. -any torque specs on the bolts? I have tightened it to all most breaking point & the clamp is still slipping off the engine guard. (1") Maybe a piece of rubber inside the clamp?? & finally any pics of how you may have yours installed? Thanks Gang,

I cant find ANYTHING.... is there any replacement pegs aftermarket for the driver? my rubber covers on my 83 are getting really tattered. Who found any aftermarket chrome ones that will fit where the stock pegs go? I'd love a set of ISO wing pegs, but I cant find what adapters to order to make them fit the 1st gen MK1 Some of you out there HAS to be running aftermarket pegs... What did you buy? -
I have an 07 RSTD, we measured the crash bar diameter is it appears to just a tad under 3/4". the smallest diameter that i see for Kuryakyn Iso Pegs are 1". anyone here with a rstd have these pegs and if so what is the part # and will i need to make a shim ? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions. Another thing, i'm buying the Hoppe Quadzilla fairing for my bike and i would like to add passing lamps (or light bar which ever you prefer) and need ideas/suggestions also.

Does anyone use highway pegs on their 1st Gen? I had to remove my lower louvres(see pic) to allow my legs to be able to extend out for pegs, but I haven't gotten a pair yet. It seems to me that if I put them on the engine guard, they won't be out far enough for me to extend my legs. I am 6'. Looking for ideas so I can get a set of pegs.

I just got my Kuryakyn Switchblade highway pegs. I like how adjustable they are, but there is one adjustment that I can't figure out: how do you stop them from spinning? The actual foot platform spins like on bearings. When I extend the heel rest, it swings down to point towards the ground. I don't see how the heel rest could be of any use. The pegs themselves are less supportive, since the turn so readily. Is there anyway to lock them in place at a particular angle? What am I missing?

I am getting some highway pegs, and I like Kuryakyn despite the cost. Due to my stature (or lack thereof, 30" inseam plus "muscular" thighs), I am getting the Longhorn Offset Peg Mounts (P/N 7985). What I don't know is which pegs to attach to it. I like the look of the Flamin' Switchblade (P/N 4412). What I don't know is how comfortable they are? Can anyone with experience with these Flamin' Switchblade pegs speak to the long-ride comfort? They look cool, but the flame part seems to be narrow on the ball of the foot. I am not sure how effective the heel rest part is. I like the look, but I want it to be utilitarian first of all. I'm not getting highway pegs to make my bike look better, but to support a 3000 mile ride. My alternate is the Switchblade Peg (P/N 4445), which looks kinda dowdy but is undoubtedly effective. I've heard nothing but good things about the heel rest on these, but perhaps it is because the peg portion is wide enough to support a range of boot positions. So, anyone here have the Flamin' Switchblade? Are they durable and comfortable?

Anybody know where i can find a conversion to go from floorboards to pegs on a 96 Royal Star. I would like to have foward controls but i don't want to shell out the dough. Unless anybody can tell me were i can get a set for cheappppp!! But pegs will be fine for now just need to find the conversion????

So I got a set of Kurakian offset mount highway pegs to go on my 08. The problem is the right peg wants to rotate and loosen up when I put my foot on it, and they both want to rotate around the crash bars, anybody have any ideas on how to deal with this?

Just curious what you all might suggest for Hwy pegs for my RSTD. I have looked at several different brands but thought I would get input before purchasing. So, what do you all think Thanks

Would it be to simplistic to assume that foot pegs for Mk1's and Mk2's are interchangeable?? Is the shift linkage that is used with the boards usable with pegs or is that a different size? What would be a fair price for a set in good condition (w/o shift link)? thanks!

Hi I just bought a 08 Venture!!! Have never road one so I don't know what to expect? I am moving up from a 1982 900 custom Honda. I just might enjoy my new ride. I am looking for some info on what kind of highway pegs work well? I don't know what size the crash bar is & if I need a offset to reach them. I only have a 30" inseam. I don't have the bike home yet so I can't tell. Thanks Reed.

I put a set of Longhorn Duallies on my RSV on Sunday, rode to work on Tuesday and noticed a crack on the clevis. Upon further investigation, both left and right pegs were cracked in the same place. The shop I purchased them from said they will swap them out. Has anybody had issues with Kuryakyn pegs?

Anyone added the heel rests to their Kuryakyn highway pegs or other pegs? Wondered if some models work better than others and if the heel rest really does help make those long trips more comfortable? Any pictures of these work? Would a highway floor board work better than a peg with a heel rest ? Appreciate all feedback!

As a result of all the great post, I bought a set of the Kuryakyn longhorn highway pegs. They are amazing. Instant and I do mean instant relief from the engine heat. The wind then blows up my legs and I can feel it on my chest. Even my wife can feel the difference as there is more air flow for her as well. Now I have to decide on buying a back rest or trailer hitch next. I saw a golf club rack on one of the recommended sites that I would love to get if I get a hitch.

did ventures ever have foot pegs ?,if so can an 08 be converted over to pegs ?,yeah I've heard it all, floorboards are he best thing since sliced bread,but I dont like them and want to use pegs:stickpoke:

Not sure how many of you have seen this, but this bill got its first reading in parliament on the 27th of October. Lower Vents and Highway Pegs??

I got the lower vents for my '08 Venture and was looking to get highway pegs but it doesn't appear to me as if they will fit with the lower vents. Anyone have both on their bike?? Or know that only a particular peg will work with the vent?? Thanks... Dee:178: -
Anyone know of some good clamp on footpegs that will fit crash bars that are less than 1"? The crash bars on my bike are 7/8", or around there, and I just have this feeling that 1" clamps will need some... umm... help in staying where I want them. The only ones I've been able to find are from MC Enterprises, called Holey Pegs, that are made for 7/8", but when I checked today, JC Whitney no longer carries them. That's what I get for waiting so long. And I know I could make some of the larger clamps work, I'm just being picky here. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions on places to look for non-standard sized pegs, let me know!

just got back from a 160 mile morning ride, and realized that the leg position is'nt as bad as i thought. my legs were in such bad shape i was getting to the point that i thought i was becoming cripple. then i realized i haven't really bent them much in the last couple of years and my knees were becoming very stiff. this wing has been the therapy i have been needing. i can actually get down on the floor and get up by myself and walk with no pain. this is great to not be in absolute pain 24 hours a day, and able to sleep with out tossing and rolling, and can get my feet up on the pegs on my zx14 without cringing from the pain. hallaluyah.
