    Mine came with a lock washer there as well, I guess I have a heavy foot. I put some red loctite on maybe it will help.

    This is purly and electronic answer, plug in your gloves and vest then disconect the power cable from the battery, now use your ohm meter to measure how many ohms it across the power cable(this will be the resistance of the gloves and jacket) now put your meter on volts and read teh voltage of the battery and plug the numbers you get into the formula E = I * R where E is volts, I is current and R is resistance. So if the battery is 12 volts and you are looking for 6 amps you should read about 2 ohms of resistance. The only problem with this is that heating elements usually change resistance as they heat up or may even have some electronics in them to control the current in which case this rudamentary way of getting current will not work.     So I got a set of Kurakian offset mount highway pegs to go on my 08. The problem is the right peg wants to rotate and loosen up when I put my foot on it, and they both want to rotate around the crash bars, anybody have any ideas on how to deal with this?

    ignition timing in a car is affected by 2 things on an older car, first there are a set of weights in the distributer that cause the timing to advance, the vacuum advance mechanism on the side of the carb actually retards the timing with low vacuum when accellerating, when ingine speed gets high enough the weights will not allow this retarding to have an affect. So to simplify this as engine speed increases the timing should advance. On the bikes vacuum would increase as engine speed increases if venturi vacuum is used on the carbs not the manifold so as rpm's increase thenso does timing advance. David

    Guys in the owners manual that is on this site in the Tech section, has on page 7-4 to change the oil at 600, 8000 and 16000 and the filter as well. There is a note that says see page 9-1 for the type and it says nothing of Synthetic. That being said, I will change my oil and filter at 4000 miles. David

    I am with you man, make you decision and practice. The practice will is a good stress reliever as well as giving you familiarity with something that is new to you. I still say the pump shotgun is the way to go, it will definatly get respect and the short barrelled defender type hold 7 rounds in the magazine. Find a local range and practice practice practice. Be carefull, safe and take care of yours. David

    Pump shotgun if you are only going to have 1 gun, keep the magazine loaded and not one in the chamber, no sence in confronting an intruder you don't have to. The sound of a pump shotgun loading a round in the chamber is know by all bad guys and they will leave if they hear it. Also relativly safe without a round in the chamber. No need for magnum ammo 2 3/4 is good enough in 12 guage. Winchester Remington and mossburg all make a good dependable pump with an 18 1/2 inch barrell and extended magazine. But most of all, practice with whatever you get, no time to learn while an intruder is in your house. Also come to grips with the affect of killing another human is going to do to you, when you use a gun for defence someone dies. David

    I hope they do better on fuel than the Spyder, from what I have read they like gas stations. David

    While in west Virginia make sure you go up 26 (If memory serves me correctly) and see the New River Gorge Bridge, on the East or north end there is a small park that over looks the gorge. About 30 or 40 miles out of Beckly. If you like there are a bunch of places you can go white water rafting on the New River. Have a good trip, David

    OK guys, I went out and bought a new Venture this weekend, I am planning on taking it to DC Memorial day weekend and my son is riding with me. How much air do you recomend putting in the rear shock and forks to carry the both of us and our gear. I weigh 240 and he is 140 and probably 30 or 40 pounds of gear. I have never had air suspension on a bike before and don't know where to start. David
