here it is. why is'nt the state people live in listed with their city under location, i notice most just have a city. then you have to go to their profile to find out where their from. sure would make things easier if states were listed. bill

Someone posted a thread about changing the side stand if you lower "both" the front and rear. Can't seem to find it again. Someone said the stand from an older RSTD would work fine and listed the length(s). If anybody has made this mod could you please post the info. Thanks in advance.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories___YAMAHA-ROYAL-STAR-VENTURE-WINSHIELD-CHROME-TRIM-COWLING_W0QQitemZ250342025482QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQddiZ2811QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item250342025482&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 It amazes me how Ebay items can sell for more than if you just go to someplace like South Seattle Yamaha and can get the same thing for $84.99.....The above listed is $127.50 at present. Hope this will help someone in the future. Tom

on Ebay lately. A month ago there were 2-3 complete bikes listed and an item count in the 700's, and now it's hovering around 200 with one seller keeping the count up with his listings of sub-parts. Case.... a side shift assembly torn down to the pedal and mount, or a clutch master listed as lever and reserve.... Doesn't sound too smart.... Anyway it's like the Sahara Dessert. I usually watch 20-30 items, and when things are really good it's up into the mid 40's. This morning's count... 9.... I guess 1stGen riders are keeping there bikes instead of selling them to VR killers.....

Today I put the class control back on the bike and it works like new again. I used the info from the tech libary and went through the circuit board. Found several loose or bad solder joints that needed re-done other than the seven joints listed in the information. The moral of this story is: Check all solder joints when doing this repair.....

I just listed a new RSTD Mustang seat on Ebay. I took it in for trade on a backrest that I made for another board member. It is for sale cheap because I don't care for the seating position it gives. It pushes you forward about 2 inches farther than the stock seat. The item number is 120279187965. AL

There is a newly listed 1989 Venture Royale Motor Trike listed on Ebay. It looks like it is in good condition and could make someone very happy, if they are in the market for a trike. The Item # is 320259998833 just type that # into the search box and it will take you right to it. Good Luck. .

About a year ago, I bought this nice flag & holder from a local Yamaha dealer. Unfortunately, I no longer have the packaging and I can't recall who the manufacturer is. I'll check with the dealer if no one here knows the answer. It's the exact same product as listed in the most recent JP Cycles catalog on page #54. It's listed as a "Tour Box or Saddlebag Flag Mount" (item #1500455). I'll attach a picture of it with this post. My problem is the flag pole is designed to fold down at the push of a release button and then lock in place when it's raised up. Well, the mechanism which locks it in place when it's raised has failed and now it won't lock in to the raised position and flops down by itself. So, I wondered if the manufacturer might be able to help me either fix it or replace it. It was pretty pricey so I don't particularly want to have to purchase another brand new one if this one can be fixed. Any suggestions? Thanks! Pete.

Yesterday I upgraded our classifieds software to the latest version. To be honest, I don't know why I wasted my time because there were very few new features added and none that I felt are really needed. I had hoped to see things like "email to a friend" and etc. but it was not to be. I had also hoped that the accuracy of the zip code functions would be improved but that does not appear to be the case either. One thing I did do was add two new fields. One for city and one for state. If people use those it will help when the zip codes are off. I also move or deleted a lot of ads from the first gen venture category. That area is supposed to be for complete bikes, not parts. There is a separate category for first gen parts. Keeping the ads in the correct categories will make it much easier for folks to find what they are looking for. Some folks had listed their parts in both places. I started out trying to see which ones were listed in both sections and then deleting the double entries and then moving the ones that were not listed in the correct category but that was taking way too much time. I finally just deleted the ones that were in the wrong place. Sorry for the inconvenience but if you had parts listed in the First Gen Bikes category, you will need to relist your items.

I've been so tied up with work so far this year I haven't been able to do ANYTHING! I bought a really nice '84 about a year ago and haven't really been able to touch it since. It's been in storage. I gotta be realistic and purge some stuff. I just listed it in the classifieds. I'll add more info when I get a chance to get out to it. Thought I'd give it a show with the "gang" before I put it on the 'bay. I've also listed some parts from the parts bike on the 'bay. It's such a pain, and so time consuming I didn't want to list them here and then there. If anyone from here is looking for any of the stuff listed I'll refund 15% if you email me your VR user ID when you win on anything I listed. You can see the stuff I listed here: http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthewilsonworks Now don't go bustin' my chops. I'm keeping the 2nd gen and we'll be at the international meet. I plan to get another 1st gen project eventually, I just can't get to it in the foreseeable future so it don't make sense to pay to keep it stored.

OK -- I know I saw a thread on replacement bulbs for the passing lights on the RSV 2nd Gens. Darned if I can find it. I just need to know the best, most-liked, awesome bulbs that you guys have seen so I can replace mine. The bulb is not listed inthe parts catalog from Yamaha (at least that I could see). Thanks in advance for your assistance.

One of our members Dakotasport is parting out a second gen he has some parts listed here and he's got some listed on ebay. I just had to spread the word. One to help out a fellow member and two to let all those 1st gen owners know they are starting to part out the 2nd gens. Now mind you I'm not much. Margaret

I saw this on the delphi forum. Is this really finally available, and just in time for winter and the additional heated gear?? Buckeye Performance apparently has these now, but not listed on their website yet. http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/ http://forums.delphiforums.com/vrider/messages/?msg=5874.1

Has anyone purchased the Saver's guide chip and card offered for the zumo-550 by Garmin? It's $49 for a year... I wonder how easy it is to use for hotels and such. I don't mean -as they describe it - I mean in actual fact. We just completed a 2100 mile 9 day trip up the Calif coast from Huntington Beach to Crescent City and across to Yosemite and down to Sequoya and back. Stayed where possible at hotels listed in the Saver's guide which is available at Dennys, McDonalds and others. Prices were good, although quality varied. Would have preferred more choices... It seems this would be convenient, but would like to hear from someone who has actually used it.

looking at this and its listed for 86-91 ventures but how different is the 86 front fender from the 84? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-91-YAMAHA-VENTURE-ROYALE-CHROME-FENDER-EMBLEM_W0QQitemZ230157714885QQihZ013QQcategoryZ10066QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
