  1. tonight after a short ride downtown I noticed my right exhaust tip was turned off to one side. I turned it back and when I got home I couldnt see how its held on, didnt see a clamp to tighten it was a bit dark under there in the garage
  2. Trying to get out of the whole rental situations and become an owner. Going to go take a look at a house this evening. :banana:I'm so sick of landlords who think they can control every aspect of your being just because it's they own the joint. My current landlords were pretty good till this spring. All kinds of new strange rules. He showed up on my doorstep a few weeks ago saying the neighbors were complaining about junk vehicles. I told him I don't have any. He pointed out my old Ford and said it has been sitting in the same spot since last fall and such. Then he said I wasn't allowed to have any incapacitated or unregistered vehicles in the yard. All vehicles are supposed to be parked in the garage. My garage is not to be used for storage. (Wouldn't keeping your care in the garage when not in use be considered storing it?) I told him it had current tabs and wasn't incapacitated. He started getting an attitude, then I told him to leave. I got a copy of my lease in the mail about a week later with all the rules he thought I was breaking highlighted. :bawling:Not a one of them was I actually breaking except for my truck being parked outside. I don't know what he expects if the truck is to tall to fit through the dang garage door. Now why would a landlord care if you car is parked outside? Why would he care what you keep in your garage? Why would a landlord think it's cool to limit tenants to only two vehicles when it's a 3 or 4 bedroom unit when both parents and the kid all work different shifts? I'll quit my complaining now. I hope this is a place I and my better half can both agree on. I don't mind having to to some work on the place. I'm handy that way. Besides, when is it you find something that's exactly the way you want it anyway? Wish me ?
  3. Anyone have a spare eyebrow (think that's what they're called) for the rear blinker? Guess I backed the bike up into the garage wall and the little sucker later jettisoned itself somewhere.... Poor thing, looks like it's winking all the time now.
  4. SHE'S CLEANING...SHE'LL NEVER STOP CLEANING TO GO OUT RIDING.....THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.....BACK TO WORK...DANG GARAGE....BUSY WORKING IN THE GARAGE AGAIN, WHEN I HEAR NEXT TO ME A VOICE...YES A VOICE..WHAT? ..WHAT DID YOU SAY TATERS?..ITS TO NICE A DAY OUT TO BE WORKING AROUND THE HOUSE... WE SHOULD BE RIDING... DID YOU SAY RIDING... YEA BABY!!!!!!!!!...GET YOUR GEAR ON.....GOD, I LOVE THAT GIRL.....WERE OFF.....:big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon:
  5. Hey Everyone- Im looking to clean out my garage and as you know I am quite the accessorized person. Anyway I find myself with lots of take off parts that I have no reason to keep and want to be rid of. If I cant get rid of them I will just toss them so tell me what you need. The parts are free so here is a list and if you want anything all you need is pay the shipping. -Stock waterpump cover (Right side with Yamaha on it) -Stock timing (Stator) cover -Stock Handle bars I will be adding stuff as I inventory the Garage so check back. PM me so that I am sure to get that message. Scotty
  6. ...dual 20" Cinema screens. Bad choice (in a way). It is a pair of modded early CB750's. One on each screen. Now I am thinking (bad rick, bad rick). I need two of them in the garage as his and her bikes. No you do not need a refill. Yes you do. No you don't. yes yes yes. Ok I win.
  7. I'm finally going to insulate my garage tomorrow. It's just a small 1 car unit, anyone have any good thoughts on a reasonably priced heating source?
  8. Hurricane Fay has been an unwelcomed intruder into FL for the past week! When she came to north FL 3 days ago and shut the county down, I spent 2 very enjoyable days in my garage & completed 3 installs on my 01 red Venture that I never had the time to tackle! The rack & guards are typical but the driver's backrest was a challenge! A few weeks ago I had a Kawasaki 1600 Vulcan Nomad in my garage and was very impressed with the substantial passenger back rest (sissy bar pad). That same day I happen to check for similar items on ebay and found and bought a new/used one off an 07 Vulcan for $40.00! It feels great while sitting on it in the garage but whenever Fay decides to leave us alone I will be excited to get the RSV out on the road with the new goodies on her! Next will be the tach, xenon H4 bulb, the votage thingamajig so I can add more lighting, etc, etc :>) Having trouble uploading photos here but here are some on this link: http://ebay-misc-auctions.blogspot.com/2008/08/dads-rec-stuff.html
  9. my 90 VR in the Venturerider classifieds. We just bought Denden's 06 Black Cherry and I need to make room in the garage. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1385
  10. Just added another Black Cherry ride to the garage. Worked awhile to get myself where I could afford something like this (for the unbelievers, the drug money is good!) Curt http://www.venturers.org/Forum/memberuploads/012_135.jpg http://www.venturers.org/Forum/memberuploads/august_calendar_3_283.jpg http://www.venturers.org/Forum/memberuploads/p3240006_190.jpg
  11. dropped my bike while rocket was here.. just as i was going into the garage i hesitated as i went thru the door and i couldnt reach the ground, ( there is a dip there), and i laid the bike down ever so gently against the edge of the garage.. GREAT NEWS !!! i laid it down so gently that i didnt even scuff it where it rested on the garage.. :clap2:
  12. I have an 1984 Venture that I bought 2 years ago with the hopes that I would bring here back to here glory and ride all over creation. Well she's sat for over a year in my garage and its now time to get out and ride. Can't get it running and I'm looking for a good mechanic. I'm in Morristown NJ anyone have a suggestion. Thanks Jim
  13. Looking for help. I have an 06 RSVM bought new last june. Bike has 14250 mi and is garage kept, and all scheduled services performed by dealer. Yesterday after work the bike wouldn't fire.. No Spark. Since I was on the 10th floor of a parking garage, I tried to bump start it all the way to the ground level.. Never got a hint of 'ignition'. So , got it towed to the Yamaha dealer.. I have a D3K on it, so today I took them my 'stock' module for them to try, and it made no difference. So what we have is, everything seems to be working fine, but no go! The dealer left me a phone message, to the effect, that they are scratching there heads and have a call into Mama Yamaha. Any input would be greatly appreceated!
  14. Well my 1986 venture has been in the garage on her centre stand most of the winter, start her up once every 2 weeks(approx.) let her warm up to turn on the electric cooling fans sometimes.. However today I was cleaning the garage so she had to move out, and when I put her in first gear and pulled away a small puddle of coolant spilled out from the lower fairing, from the forward motion...Now I checked the overflow tube for the rad and it doesn't seem to drain in that area, hope I am wrong, anyone else have this happen during winter storage...? Garage only hit -10 celcius maybe for 3-5 days, normally at 0 degrees or above...
  15. I get to keep it.What a deal.My brother in law bought it.He is 70 years old and never had a MC license. He ordered new tires for it and they will get here monday then the bike goes in the shop.Anything wrong with it will ber fixed. He lives here but works in VA.He comes home about every third weekend. He wants to leave the bike in my name and in my garage till he gets his license. He said to ride it and not let it sit around. What a guy, gotta love him.He is gonna buy a 650 Vstar to learn to ride on.Said maybe a year before he tries to get his license.
  16. Hey Guys, I've got an easy one for you, but the answer alludes me! I live in Georgia where we are water deprived and can't figure out how to get the ride nice and shiny. I was doing some woodwork in the garage, and true to form did not cover it up. I'm afraid of going to the car wash for fear of hitting something hot and cracking a casting or messing up the wiring. I'ts not a high priority question, but your thoughts would be appreciated! By the way I had to give her a spongebath in the garage today! Thanks, Kenw:322:
  17. Does anyone have a set of tank badges from a Venture in good shape collecting dust in their garage? If so what do you want for them? Thanks!
  18. As mentioned Deb and I have both been riding Yamaha's for years and we have sort of Yamaha shrine going on it our Garage. We were both lucky enough with our RoadStar's to capture the nice official 16X20 Yamaha promotion poster of both our 01 and 05 Roadstars, framed them and they hang next to each bike in the Garage. Now that we have a Venture in the Garage I was wondering if anyone might have a that cool promotional poster they came out with when the Midnight Venture first came out? I would be willing to pay a fair price for it and of course shipping cost. I figured this would be the best place to ask. Thanks for looking!
  19. I bought my 1.25amp Battery tender Plus in 2005 during Daytona week and was using it ever since. I always plugged it in summer or winter whenever I parked the bike in the garage and the Odessey was always at full charge. Until last week when I went into the garage and the green light and red light was out. I thought that I had forgotton to turn it on but I had turned it on as usual. My Odessey battery was stone cold dead cuz it had drained out thru the charger. I started my bike with jumpers from my truck and ran it for 15 minutes or so and then I attached my other 0.75 amp Battery tender and it took 3 days to get the battery back up to full charge. I was afraid that I had ruined my Odessey (PC680) but it looks as if it'll be OK. I bought the Odessey also in 2005 in Florida. Just a warning about keeping an eye on any charger you have hooked up. db
  20. What an awesome day it was today. Beautiful sunshine...warm... we went to the the insurance co and got a 1 day permit and took off around 11:30am ... just got back about 5:45pm. First ride of the year it was... first time ever that I smoked a Harley rider before the end of February!!! We are so pumped and exhilarated it's indescribable! I pulled her into the garage, put her up on the centerstand and gave her a kiss and a thank you for yet another safe and trouble-free ride. Gawd I love this scoot!
  21. This would be great for oil changes and etc. if you don't have nor want a center stand. I actually have one of these on my trailer. Mine is a home made one but works great. I have it out of the trailer right now and plan to try it in the garage. No reason it won't work the same as this one. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-wheel-chock/steady-stand/
  22. I'm in the process of upgrading my garage and have found this garage heater on sale. I was wondering if anyone has used this, or know if the brand is good? The reviews seem to be good fromwhat I've read. I have a 2.5 car garage that I'm insulating/heating. Link to garage heater info: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200307959_200307959 Thanks.
  23. OK, I've lost another round of "Stump the Dummy." That'll be the subtitle to my autobiography one day, "King Loser of Stump the Dummy." I bought the Baron's 1.5" risers some time ago for my 03 RSV and am just now getting around to installing them--the garage and outside temperature are 38 degrees, plenty warm enough to do this simple job. To make a longer story shorter, there isn't enough slack in my cabling to allow the handlebars to slip into the risers. Oh, sure, I could hook a come-along to 'em and the garage wall, coul put it all back together and drop it off at the dealer, or I could even take Baron's up on their guarantee. BUT, before I do any of these, I wanted to check and see if there's a trick to this, or if the temperature is too cool to allow the lines to limber up enough, or is there a clamp I cannot see that's holding things up? Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Snakebit.
