  1. Note: This is ONLY a joke and was not posted to address any type of religion in any way. I just thought it was funny and thought some of you here would enjoy it too. I have always questioned if Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton were really preachers since they have no church. When I heard Al Sharpton was guest preacher at a black Houston Church, I decided to check him out in person and see what it was all about......... . I sat down and Sharpton came up to me, I don't know why, maybe it was because I was the only white person in the Church. He laid his hands on my hand and said: "By the will of Jesus the Lord All Mighty, and the will of God, you will walk today." I told him I was not paralyzed. He came back and laid his hands on me again, and repeated the same thing. Again I told him there is nothing wrong with me. After the sermon I stepped outside and lo and behold, my dang car had been stolen!
  2. Ever have one of those moments, days, weeks? With colder weather coming, and $NoVV on the way, decided to go ahead and put her up on jacks, and start winter maintenance, new tires, etc. And I know I laid that ratchet right...... well.... there.... 30 seconds ago..... and my allen wrench.... is .. over..... MAN when did this start?????????? I cant find anything!!!!!!!!!!ARGGGGGGGGGG Now where is my pocket knife....
  3. My daughter-in-law past away in her sleep on Tuesday afternoon. My son is broken-up right now. We laid her to rest today. Four children from 22 to 11. Please keep them in your prayers. tew47
  4. Co-worker had his harley parked in the company lot and the way the sun was reflecting off the mirror it burned the passenger backrest. Looks like a cigarette was laid on it and burned down to the butt. I know, should have gotten a pic but I didn't have phone on me at the time. First time I ever heard of this.
  5. Looks like we worked out a deal for Dan, (my 16 yoa son) buying a 2001 V-Star 650 Custom with just 5275 miles on it. The testing deal is for $2000.00 We will be going to Walnut Grove, MN on Saturday to check it out. If it runs ok and he fits on it, it will be trailered home. (high only 27 degrees forcast) The only problem I can see from the Craig's list pics is that it was laid down once and has a dent the fuel tank. I think, hope, that could be fixed easily. If not, I think we could locate a replacement. Pinwall more than likely. Wish us luck Dave
  6. This morning, I was coming home from work. It wasn't quite light yet, but just barely dawn. (cold too) I had just started to pass a car, when I saw a very big buck heading my way , in a hurry. ( he was an 8 or 10 point, at least). He stopped about 10 feet from the road in front of me, and just looked at me. I laid on the Stebel horn, and it was enough to send him running off the other way. I think the guy I was passing never saw him, and was wondering what I was honking at. Scary at the time, but glad it turned out ok. I see lots of deer between home, and the 40 miles to work.
  7. Well after a few years I have finished it. I bought this in 2000, and its been a work in progress ever since. 86 Royale with 39,000 miles. Its was mechanically sound but had been abused and laid down several times. After lots of ebay and a donor bike this is the result. Thanks to everyone for the information and help in the tech sections. Robhttp://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=49172&d=1282237849
  8. While today I was informed at noon that today was my last day...... Surprise!!!!!! Ya well no kidding.. I was laid off to due to the wonderful economy. It is not looking good out there folks. No new news there huh? They laid off so many that we were down to the skeleton of the company, now we are gnawing at the bones. It isn't the company's fault they are in a survival mode, just try to take the next breath from minute to minute. Those that are still employed here is a bit of advice, make yourself as useful and as valuable as possible and do what is needed. Those that aren't team players will be the first to see the door. There is no one that is immune here. The worst I am afraid is not been seen yet. I hope I am wrong about that but I don't think so. I hope all of you are doing OK and keeping healthy. Hunker down and ride the storm out is the plan while looking for a job. God Bless America and those that made it our country. Bubber (survivor)
  9. dropped my bike while rocket was here.. just as i was going into the garage i hesitated as i went thru the door and i couldnt reach the ground, ( there is a dip there), and i laid the bike down ever so gently against the edge of the garage..
