Vacation coming up soon. Has anyone ever made the ride from Apache Junction to Roosevelt Dam (Hwy 88)? How long does it take? Trying to figure out how much water to take. Nope not taking the RSV, renting a couple of dualsports.

I am looking for a clutch master cyclinder cover so that I can mount my tachometer to the top of the clutch. My brake side has a switch box already it so it has to go on the clutch side. ANYBODY got one and how much? And I need a picture so I can figure out a mount. Give a shout if you got one. Thanks much from the popcicle of the north, Minnesota.:yikes: Bubber

I doubt it, this is the most snow i've seen in my life, and i've seen alot of snow! Its freezing out, and of course my car dies at an intersection and wont start. Maybe thats why they say tempos aren't made for busting drifts! Either way, it was too cold to walk, so i just stayed put trying to figure out the problem, but lo' and behold my hood release latch froze to the inside of my car, so i pulled about a foot's worth of plastic out of place. Good thing its an 85' that i only paid 350 for!!!! PS does anyone have any extra first gen pipes they would like to sell for really cheap? THANKS!!! -

Someone here a while back had bought a rear bumper/light bar that was supposed to be for a Venture but it was odd shaped. He posted some pics but if I remember right nobody could figure out what it was for. Anybody recall who posted that? I can't find the thread now. Mike

Today's special on Amazon is the Nuvi 785T for $199. Does anyone know the difference between this model and the 765T that several of you already have? There are just too many models out there to figure out the difference!!!

I'm spoiling the bike now that I have a new job. I figure that if I have it apart, I might as well upgrade the stator as I am upgrading the Voltage Reg so I dont have to worry about it on the road this spring and summer... -

I am doing some upgrades to my golfcart and am trying to figure out the best "coating" for the plastic body. I'm leaning toward the spray on coatings like Rhino or line-x. Has anyone here ever done this or have any knowledge about it. I really wanted to do it myself but am just not sure about it. Thanks,

Just noticed you are selling your rear trunk guard. With the LED bulbs, that guard would light up the rear of the bike like a Christmas tree. If I could figure out how to mount it on the Viagra, I'd jump on it at that price.

Waiting to fly up and pick up my new MM. Sleeperhawk is picking me up and I guess a small gaggle of ventureriders are going to the Harley dealer to see the baby get a proper home. I can't figure out if I'm more excited about the bike or meeting all these great, generous people! 4 hours and counting.

Hello to all of you, I purchased my 83 Venture about 2 months ago after wanting one since 1983. It also took me 2 years to coax my neighbor into getting rid of that old bike of his so I could fix it up and make it look new again. I have always had a motorcycle in the garage from a Honda Trail 70 to a Harley Road King and have restored a few including a 1986 VMAX. Now with the help of this site in a few short weeks I have fixed my headlights, my battery warning light, my fork seals, my springs, and even am on the way to repairing some plastic because of all the great people that took the time not only to figure out what was wrong with these bikes, but actually took the time to document and share the fixes. I am very appreciative of all of your efforts and thank you for sharing your hard work and knowledge with me. I hope some day I can help someone else as much as you all have helped me. I recently added this information to the tech library. I guess I could look up part numbers and etc. and try to figure it out but does anybody know right off hand if the first gen and second gen thermostats are the same?

Getting my new to me used 07 RSV tomorrow and I really would like to do my own maintainance on it. I see on this site talk of maintainance days at various locations and was wondering if anybody does any around here (Appleton WI). I could probably figure alot out myself but by the sound of some of the threads the manuals don't nessasarily tell you everything. Any help is greatly appreciated Jeff

I have an '83 Royale. Miles: 24K, still need to rebuild brake master, probably need exhaust seals and a carb job. How does this bike compare to a '84 Honda GL1200?? Performance, mechanical, ballpark value? Get more detail on the wing later today. Looking at a sidecar and the wing has the mounting brackets installed whereas I would have to figure how to fabricate them for the VR.

just a reminder to get your registrations in as soon as you can for the 09 rally. not being pushy, i just keep remembering black owls advise. don't let the folks forget. cindy has the t-shirts to order and name pins to make and we have to figure on the food. this is going to be the big one so, we want to get it right for all the folks. thanks bill

I check my coolant at the radiator about once a month....Everytime I check it's about 1-2 pints low...I can't figure where the water goes, its not leaking anywhere.... Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

Due to all the snow and ACTS OF NATURE we had in my town, our school system will be open on June 5th, the day that we planned to leave for Freebirds. I do not know what we will be able to do now. I guess we have to leave really early on Saturday. Do not like riding in the dark on those early morning expressway trips. We will figure out something. Yama Mama:big-grin-emoticon:

I was wondering how much gear can you safely pack on a bike and riding 2 up to camp with? My tent and cooking kit is small but would already overload the trunk and rack capacity. I figure I can strap the sleeping bags and pads to the sides to the saddlebags but cant figure out where to carry everything else. Honestly our bikes are big, but they dont have a lot of storage room. I was thinking of getting a giant tank bag to strap to my tank rack... anyone have any suggestions? I am getting a hitch made but with the wife losing her job buying the camper trailer is no longer an option... has anyone sucessfully camped for two on a weekend with just what you load on the bike? how to you keep from making the bike even more top heavy?

got a couple of requests from the members. since the riding season is approaching. i need to ask the members to first start thinking about registering for the international rally, so cinderella can get the orders together for the t-shirts, and since she has graciously took on the task of making the name buttons, so she doesn't get backed up on that. we will also have to let the hub know about what to expect so they can figure the food for the big dinner which they are catering. i also would like to get a rough count for the attendees for my st. charles meet in may, so i can figure the food etc. not trying to pressure anyone, cuz i know the economy is affecting many of us. but if you have an idea that you are planning on comming please let us know. thanks, bill ,and the planning committee.
