Due to my 86VR letting some rust into carbs & having a tech reline tank, redo carbs/diaphragms, tuneup, new brakes, tires, etc., etc., my Nav said she didn't trust scoot. After some rides, she became comfortable again. Then, a throttle cable broke 55 miles from home, quick fix, but she lost faith. Now I have chromed-out scoot with nothing to be fixed but, now that it should be a worry free ride, it has to go. Now it's in the VR Classifieds for $4400. [$100 less than I have into it]. She insists a newer scoot is a better scoot, despite the huge expenses & new parts I put into this bike. Even if I get a 5 yr old scoot, most of the important parts will be 5 years older than what I have now, not to mention the numerous upgrades I'll never see again. Especially, the $2500. I spent on parts/techs, this year, doing the work to be certain it would be perfect. Anyway, I went & did it. Then it goes to Ebay until sold. It'll sell, but then I have to get a __?________ with all the problems that come with it....& start fixing everything....LIKE I JUST DID. It'll cost me many needless dollars, but Mama 'must' be kept happy. There's nothing left to fix on my scoot to make it any better, so this makes NO SENSE, to me, anyway. I hope whoever gets it keeps in touch, with a tab of near zero maintenance for years to come. Then I can say "Told you so."

Can anyone comment on the Muzzys 6 blade aluminum fan. I notice one available on Ebay right now..and I checked out their website too (same price as Ebay item). I have a 1988 Venture Royale....and notice on hotter days with 'low' or little airflow engine temp runs high. I know they are 'known' for this. Would this fan provide better cooling/cool down? What about fan noise? I appreciate any comments or experience with this item. Thanks. rez

There is an item on Ebay that I would like to bid on but can't because I live in Canada. I have Emaild to see if I can get an EXEMTION from the seller, which I have bought from privetly before. This came across my desk from a co-worker who got it from the Director of Information Services at ****** (not at liberty to disclose) ... Just a "heads up"...and I don't have the attachment(s) referred to... Ebay fraud (Phishing Scam) - please refer to the attached email seen below .......... I am passing along this attempted email fraud (phishing expedition) onto "All Subscribers" such that all are made aware of the types of email frauds that one may receive. This particular one is an an attempt being made to fool one into divulging their personal information. In the following attachment letter 'invoice' seen below, it indicates to the receiver that they have purchased an item from eBay. By clicking on the link - it brings you to a 'look alike' eBay page where it requests that you enter your eBay Username and Password. Once you do this, the scammers, store this information and now have access to your eBay account where they can buy and sell under your name, leaving you to clean up the mess. In addition they most lilley will harvest any monies in your PayPal account if they can get that as well. It is interesting to note that if you click on the Link in the attachment below 'Guess Red Signs Handbag Purse & ........ it links to: http://www.traveldelhi.com/ufiles/default.htm?213rjceirjqexr98rdlkmsanch frinvc58ucrdjkxnerimjgtmxkjnzmhrugt45ncoirehviuhtrckm45x You will notice that address above denotes www.traveldelhi.com It is a web site located in India - IT DOES NOT SAY 'eBay'. When you click on a link of anything you may feel is suspicious - it is advisable "LOOK" to see what site it is really referencing. In this case it is not www.ebay.com So please be cautious when receiving any such emails - when in doubt- do not to click on the link - but simply bring up your Browser and enter the address such as www.ebay.com and check things out that way.

Well I finally put my 1997 Honda 1100 Shadow ACE up for sale. Havent been able to ride it with my back problems for a while so I figure someone should enjoy it. Hey folks, I got an 84 that came back from the shop today with carbs fixed. But now the steering berings are bad. I have decided to sell the bike as is or for parts. I have stripped the luggage off and started to prime for paint. The side fairings are off as well. The lower fairings are damaged. The front fairings (with some wear) are intact and on the bike. This bike now runs great and is mechanically sound but I can't afford to put any more into it. I was going to paint it but even that decision has changed. I will take offers for the bike as is and then if I don't get any for the bike I will start to part it out. It would be a great bike for someone who is mechaincally inclined and could do the work. I am not and don't have the patience or time. Please reply to this post or call me at 812-661-0108 and lets talk. I would love for somebody in this group to get her before I go EBAY. Derek

My V Max sells tonight on Ebay. No big deal I'll probably take a loss on it been there done that. The problem is I got two dudes fighting over it bidding wars. One has poor credit feedback and one with zero feedback. I think Ebay should have a rule limiting purchases to $100 on your first 20 or something purchases. I can see some kid wanting a crotch rocket working at mcdonalds win my aution and then trying to get a loan. I hate for a reputable buyer to get knocked out because of a No payer. So far I have been lucky and been paid for all but one small item. But were talking about several grand here. Last week I sold my camper. The buyer drove 800 miles one way and brought 31 $100 bills. I liked it.Lets hope tonights auction goes well. I turned down selling it to family because I didn't want to see them get hurt or worse.

Canadians who make a habit of selling goods on eBay should brace themselves for some attention from the tax department. ADVERTISEMENT The Canada Revenue Agency has won the right to examine files of the auction site's so-called "power sellers" - those Canadians who generate at least $1,000 US a month in billings from their online sales. The tax department wants to know if these big sellers are declaring their eBay income. A recent Federal Court of Canada decision affirms an order last year that requires eBay Canada to provide tax officials with the full account information on these sellers, including their names, user IDs, mailing addresses, billing addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses. The online giant must also supply merchandise sales information about the power sellers, including gross annual sales. The order applies to any Canadian individual or business who had power seller status in Canada at any time during 2004 and 2005. EBay Canada lawyers had argued that the computers that housed the information were located in California. But under questioning, eBay lawyers acknowledged that the information was easily accessible in Canada by its Canadian operation. "The reality is that the information is readily and instantaneously available to those within the group of eBay entities in a variety of places," wrote Mr. Justice Roger Hughes of the Federal Court of Canada. "It is irrelevant where the electronically-stored information is located or who as among those entities, if any, by agreement or otherwise asserts 'ownership' of the information." Mr. Justice Hughes noted that the Income Tax Act permits the Canada Revenue Agency to carry out somewhat of a fishing expedition. "The wording of subsection 231.2(1) is very broad; it enables the minister to require 'any person' to provide 'any information'," he wrote. "The only constraint is that the request must be made 'for any purpose related to the administration or enforcement of this Act'." But eBay Canada lawyers said the government had failed to show sufficient evidence that the tax agency was carrying out a "genuine and serious inquiry" into power sellers, as a previous court ruling had required. Hughes reserved judgment on that part of the case, pending a later hearing. EBay is the largest online auction site in the world. In its most recent fiscal year, it reported revenues of almost $6 billion US.

I just put a set of Wild Pig pipes on my RSTD yesterday and boy do they sound good. I tried the Road King muffs but they were just too mild. If anyone is looking for a set of aftermarkets check these out on Ebay. They were only $180 shipped.

A friend of mine has a 86 Goldwing 1200 Interstate and his seat padding is gone. The seat looks good on the outside, but the inside padding is shot. He is setting on the metal seat pan which is very uncomfortable. He has looked on eBay, but had no luck. Does anyone has any suggestions on a good fix that doesn't break the bank?

I know that the 2nd Gen people can't understand this:stirthepot:, but I was going so fast last night that the left side vent grill blew off!!!! I looked for it on the highway today, but no luck...I did find some black plastic pieces that may have been it!!! I checked on ebay and didn't see one...anyone have one on a parts bike they are willing to sell? I hate looking at the empty hole! -
I had to short yamaha windshield on my 04 venture and the clear coat started coming off. So I replaced it with a windshield from show chrome accessories found it on ebay from a business in northern Arkansas. It is about an inch taller then the one I had and stays that height all the way across should help with cooler weather. I got it delivered for 100 bucks. It was my impression that the 1stGen clutch covers were all the same from 83-93 1200/1300. Then ran acrossed this item on Ebay. CLUTCH I can't believe that yama-mama changed the cover in any way, but here's a seller that says the one he just bought on Ebay doesn't fit. Whatcha think???

Any one out there know if a set of Driver Floorboards from a '84 will fit a '89? I have been looking for a complete set and saw some on Ebay for an '84 but I don't know if they will fit on my '89. Any ideas......
