  1. Found this bouncin' around at work looking for some clean humor, hard to find these days, enjoy :] Susie's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months. Things looked grim, but she was by his bedside every single day. One day as he slipped back into consciousness, he motioned for her to come close to him. She pulled the chair close to the bed and leaned her ear close to be able to hear him. "You know" he whispered, his eyes filling with tears, "you have been with me through all the bad times. When I got fired, you stuck right beside me. When my business went under, there you were. When we lost the house, you were there. When I got shot, you stuck with me. When my health started failing, you were still by my side. "And you know what?" "What, dear?" she asked gently, smiling to herself. "I think you're bad luck."

    BG 44k

I have been using Bg 44K in my dirtbike, fourwheeler, trucks and cars and after using it and dissassembling the carbs they are spotless inside. Not only does it clean the carbs but it also keeps the valves clean and keeps the piston rings clean. This product is great and I highly recommend it o everyone. It is the true "tuneup in a can". If you are having issues with poor fuel quality and carbs gumming up or varnishing try this stuff
  3. OK folks...I know it's winter and some of us are already going into parked motorcycle syndrome but some of the jokes over the last few weeks have started shifting slightly over the PG line. Please keep it clean.
  4. "Im leaving for The Weekend so I hid $100.00 in your Room For Food Clean your room and you will Find It"
  5. Does anyone know if a new or reproduction gauge face plate is available for a 83 VR? I had mine apart the other day to oil the speedometer and tried to clean the face and wipped the numbers off. They were white but now they are faded yellow and smeared.
  6. I ran across a '98 GMC SLS 4X4 that looks interesting for $2,500. Haven't seen it yet so no details but if anyone has owned one I'd like to hear your thoughts. Supposed to be loaded and very clean. I've never owed a Jimmy but I have had mixed opinions from owners in the past. Some love.... some hate. Ya know how that goes. Mike
  7. Found this on another site.... funny! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5mRu9ZNlto]Herb Dixon - CLEAN COMEDIAN -"Harley Davidson' - YouTube[/ame]
  8. I have changed my oil regularly since i have owned my bike (4 years). The problem is, i cant see through the oilcheck window. How do i check my oil? How do i clean the window? http://venturers.org/Forum/download/file.php?avatar=11210_1269700717.jpg
  9. My venture max, now thinks it's a Yamadavidson, it has left it's mark on the floor of the shop here at work. (looks like the valve cover gasket, and I'll have to clean the floor) I should never have put the H/D tour pack on the back.
  10. I had to pull the rear wheel again because the dealer didn't clean the rim good enough so the tire was slowly leaking. Anyhow i realized that i didn't grease the pins the last time so I had another reason for taking it a part again. Anyhow, the pins were pretty rusty. I cleaned them up with some fine sandpaper. Anything else to do other than moly paste? Do you or can you clean out the bushings? thanks, Larry
  11. I looking for a clean and professional look when I mount the 5 flat plug on the bike. Have looked at the back of my 08 RSV and can't seem to decide how or where to mount the plug. I'm pretty picky, but know there are others on here that are picker than I and also wanted a clean look. So the question is how and where did you mount your trailer plug. Thanks.
  12. Cleaning my Honda ST was a breeze... like cleaning a car with all that tupperware. I LOVE my Venture, especially when it is gleaming clean, but what a PAIN to get it there. I am sure there are many tips that members might share. What's the best way to: Clean (and wax?) the paint? (I used boat wax on the ST) Keep the chrome gleaming? Clean in the nooks and crannies? Keep the stock seats clean? Maintain black plastic (bib, radio, etc)? Clean the back wheel? Clean the windshield (I use Pledge) Any suggestions about tools, rags, chamois, microfiber, tooth-brushes, bottle brushes, waterless solutions? What about wiping the bike down without water? (I am concerned that the grime will scratch the paint, chrome, etc. My partner, Dianne has a good way of keeping her V-Star clean. She gets me to do it!
  13. I recently acquired a 93 VR that I am trying to get back on the road. The good news is it only has 18xxx miles on it. The bad news is it only has 18xxx miles on it, so it has spent plenty of time sitting. Cosmetically it is very nice except for a clouded windshield. I took apart the carbs, and every slow speed jet was clogged, but other than that they were nice and clean. The gas tank has some sludge, but I think it will clean up pretty well using my old stand by "The Works" toilet bowl cleaner, which does a great job on rust. I bought a deka battery for it and discovered the CLASS system has an E4 error, so here is my first question. I can hear a click at the back of the bike when the CLASS system powers up, so does that mean the controller in the dash is OK and I need to look into the power getting to the compressor, or could the controller still need the resoldering that I have read about on this forum? I also have a flashing red warning light blinking at me nonstop. What is it trying to warn me about? I have a 91 Vmax, so I know I will love this motor and bike once I get all the bugs worked out. Thanks for any replies. I'm sure I'll have more questions.
  14. I pulled my K&N filters off tonight after realizing they hadn't been pulled to be cleaned in say (cough cough) 20 or 30,000 miles.. ouch.. But looking at them.. I'm wondering if it was just the right time or premature or waaaay too late, hard to tell.. As the air comes into the box, it seems only the immediate area in front of the inlet hole is dirty while the rest of the filter looks pristine.. SO clean it's still fresh pink with oil.. SO weird. It might not show well in the photo but just that small area has dirt on it (albeit a lot) but the rest of the filter is looking darn new.. How often do you clean YOUR K&N? Cheers
  15. I've been nursing a bum right knee for about a year... busted it up swinging a leg over the scoot last summer.... I'd been putting off doing anything hoping that it would heel up by itself. Yesterday it got so bad I couldn't even walk on it. Damn it hurt. So off to the Docs I go this morning. Torn miniscus. A shot of cortizone cocktail and I'm mobile again. I may need an operation to clean things out of there. The Doc kinda hesitated about recommending the op untill I asked him if my name were Joe Montana would it make a difference... Gotta go mow the lawn now....
  16. this bike has been parked next to me at work for the last few days, havn`t seen who rides it, but this thing is clean, not sure of the year, so maybe one of ya`ll can add to this..
  17. I had a mac. tell me if you use a large amount of Sea fome in some thing you should change plugs after words because it damages the plugs. Has any one notesed this??? I would think it would help clean up the plugs! Don't Know
  18. I've been playing around with polishing the lower fork tubes and this is after the first go over with the emory compound. Compared with what I started with it's looking pretty good. Still have a couple of steps to go so it should get better. The thing is I have lot of pitting where the stickers were and on the inside (back) of the tubes. I'd like to be abe to smooth that out where is can be seen. The back side I'm not so worried about and it gives me a place to experiment. This may be more than a lil wet and dry sanding can handle. Not looking for a show finish but would like to clean it up a bit. Any thoughts? Mike
  19. 1999 RSV with 57,000 miles When I put my blinkers on or when I push to cancel, switch feels kind of mushy, and sticks a bit. Can I just shoot some lube in there? Or is that a bad idea? If I do have to take it apart to clean it, what do I need to watch out for? I can already imagine some little spring flying out and hiding in a far corner of the garage. Thanks, Ross
  20. I have a set of carbs that are squeeky clean will they fit an 86 ?
  21. I have read as many threads as I can on this subject. All talk about "cleaning" the splines. 1) What chemicals/towels etc do I "clean the splines with? 2) Amounts- I am confused by how much Moly 60 to use. I have read somebody saying to use a drop on each spline. The picture that is referenced below is certainly more than that. I'm concerned about putting too much. 3) I am assuming the pumpkin is on the opposite side of the spline. I'm concerned about getting this thing off and not getting it back together. I have a 10 year old bike with 35,000. Is this something that I could watch someone do at a maint day and with a bike with only 35,000 am I in any short term danger if I just grease the splines I can see? Paranoid newbie
  22. Hey! Clean out some of that old PM stuff man. It's full!!! Got something for you to take a look at. Mike
  23. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS! Just three hours away from 2011 here. I'm having a quiet one with the pillion (evening, that is) then up early for two days away in the Subie+trailer at my folks old place to finish a clean up. Going to be 100degF+ over the weekend. Thank you all for your camaraderie and friendship in 2010. Look forward to more of the same in 2011. Stay safe.
  24. I opened a E-Card this morning and then started getting this small window pop up, looked like a windows app. that said I nneded to up date and that I was out of drive space..it showed up as HDDLow and created an Icon on my desk top..I could not close it, it changed my desk top to all black except for what it wanted me to click. I ran a full Mcafee scan and it found and removed it, but I still did a system restore, hope its gone. I do not use this lap top for anything other then this site, email, PGR stuff, so if I end up having to wipe it clean and start over I will not be out anything. Has any one heard of this one?? I would sure like to catch these ^%$# that have nothing else to do but screw up things..Just be carefull opening up e-cards or anything that you are not 100% sure of. Kreg
  25. I know! I'll put on a clean T-shirt and go for a ride!
