A few weeks ago, I asked for your prayers for an unnamed member. Well that member is our own one and only Black Owl and he is still in need or our prayers. Russell was admitted to the hospital before Christmas with complications from pneumonia. Things got really bad and to be honest, a lot worse than he really wanted anybody to know. He is doing better now but is still hospitalized and has a ways to go. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. -
Well it's only been a couple of days, but those awful jokes in Christmas crackers have mercifully faded from the memory fairly quickly. One or two are still lodged in my mind though.... What game do ghosts play at parties ?............................ haunt and seek. What do ducks do before Christmas dinner ? ................... they pull quackers. What do you sing for a snowman on his birthday ?............ freeze a jolly good fellow. What did one snowman say to another ? ......................... can you smell carrots ? Two cannibals were eating a clown, one said ..................... does this smell funny to you ? There are thousands of these blooming jokes and hardly any are funny, but that's the point I suppose - so everyone groans, or pretends to find them funny when the children read them, and no-one gets to sound too clever. Do you have these too ?

Merry Christmas to all! Let us not forget those who are less fortunate than yourselves. Let us remember the service men and women that protect us and our freedoms. Remember the police fireman and first responders those that have to work on these holidays so that we can enjoy the time with our families. Remember our VenturRider members that may not be feeling very good and the sick. We have members out there that could use a little help, some prayers and maybe just a friendly kind word from one or more of us. Reach out and pay it forward. It is so much better than getting a gift for yourself, at least I think so. Remember your family and remember your friends. Life is great, God is good and friends are friends. I am one of those that is spending Christmas Eve at work (surfing the web) while the rest of my family is eating and laughing and opening presents. But at least I was mean enough to not deliver my stuff ahead of time. All of those that are getting stuff from me will have to wait until I am there.

My wife bought me a Harbor Freight jack and new tires so Is this drawing accurate http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=555 because the adapter is now out side the price range but I own 2 welders should'nt cost me much to whip one up. We are having a White Christmas in some parts of western Washington (state). I just looked out my windows, and it is snowing outside. YEAH !!!!! We are getting a White Christmas ! (Bing Crosby) I'm dreaming of a White Christmas...just like the ones I used to know. Where the tree tops glisten, and children listen, to hear...sleigh bells in the snow. If you like snow, I wish that you too can have a White Christmas.

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the towns, the boys were waitin for the countdown. The fireplace was full of that stocking routine, in hopes the big boy would make the scene. With our stomachs full of paninis and beer we headed for the bedroom for some special cheer. When out in the yard there arose such a racket, I ran for the door and pull on my motorcycle jacket. I saw a large Bro on a 56 Pan, wearin' black leathers, a cool biker man. ... ... He hauled back the bars on that bike full of sacks, and it hit the roof like it was running on tracks. I couldn't stop gawking, the old guy had class, but I had to go in I was freezing my ass. Down through the chiminey he fell with a crash,and out of the fireplace he came dragging his stash. With a smile and a glee he passed out the loot, a new jacket for her and some parts for my scoot. He padded her ass and shook my right hand, turned on his heels and up the chimney he ran. From upon the roof came a great deal of thunder. As the massive V-Quad ripped the silence asunder. With beard in the wind he roared off in the night shouting "have a cool yule, and to all have a good ride."

Fuzzy :usa: Christmas Poem TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE, IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE. I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE, AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE. I LOOKED ALL ABOUT, A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE, NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE. NO STOCKING BY MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND, ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES OF FAR DISTANT LANDS. WITH MEDALS AND BADGES, AWARDS OF ALL KINDS, A SOBER THOUGHT CAME THROUGH MY MIND. WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHOM I'D JUST READ? CURLED UP ON A PONCHO, THE FLOOR FOR A BED? I REALIZED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT, OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT. SOON ROUND THE WORLD, THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY, AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY. THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS, LIKE THIS ONE LYING HERE. I COULDN'T HELP WONDER HOW MANY LAY ALONE, ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME. THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE, I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY. THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE, "SANTA DON'T CRY, THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE; I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, I DON'T ASK FOR MORE, MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS." THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP, I COULDN'T CONTROL IT, I CONTINUED TO WEEP. I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS, SO SILENT AND STILL AND WE BOTH SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL. I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT, THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR SO WILLING TO FIGHT. THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER, WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE, WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA, IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE." ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH, AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT. "MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT." This poem was written by a Marine. The following is his request. I think it is reasonable..... PLEASE. Hard to believe that another year has come and gone. I want to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and thank you for your continued participation in the VentureRider club. I lose track of how many years we have been here now but I can say that they are some of the best years of my life. The friendships made here are the type that will last many many years and such friendships are sometimes hard to find now days. I know that many of you have gone through some difficult times over the past year. Some just recently. Please know that our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you during this special time of the year. Know that we are here for you and we do care. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and again, thank you for all that you do. I may have built this site but without each and every one of you, it would just be another of the millions of websites available. YOU make it the special place that it is.
