I wear a half helmet and I would like to use the CB on my bike. What are my options for microphones? If I also want to use the intercom with my passenger, what equipment do I need? She wears a half helmet too. Thanks in advance!!!!! -
Saturday we removed the tank badge from Roxie, my '06 RTSD. I like how sleek it made her look. Someone said she looks like a panther. Mysterious, menacing, and sexy, that's her. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4302465766_151b3e912f.jpg The most glaring thing to change now is the hinges. I know I can buy OEM chrome inserts, but I have restrained myself from adding flashy stuff. She is a midnight bike, and IMO is meant to be dark and threatening. Or better, like the original but saying Roxie instead of Tour Deluxe? Ideas? Dave

I realized today that I didn't want to ride to Big Bend on the cheapy emergency tire I got on my last trip. Doh! I ordered a tire that should arrive Thursday. What are my mounting options? I want to do the Texas Honor Ride this Saturday. Are there any weeknight options that can get it done between now and this next Thursday, when we leave for Tom's and Big Bend? Maybe I should buy the Harbor Freight setup and do it myself? Can I take it to an auto tire shop and have them do it? Or do I miss the THR so I can have a motorcycle place do it Saturday? Dave

Can some of you with knowledge of the 1983-1985 Ventures help me fill in the gaps that I have in model numbers & options. I am working on schematics for the 83-85 group and need this info to know what combination to make the schematics. I am looking for the Base model #, Cruise #, Class #, & Cuise + Class # (if offered separately) The Audio options would also be helpful, but not as much as the above combinations. I'm looking to install a trunk and cigarette lighter on my 2006 RSTD. What are my options? I've looked but haven't found much. Will a Venture trunk fit? -

Well many of you know that Lonna and I are headed towards Texas, Tennessee is an awsome state, but there are too many from michigan and the surrounding states headed there. What I need from some of you folks is options for moving. We have done the Pensky trucks before and I know about them. Seems right now it's a supply and demand thing and they are truly rediculous in price. I thought about the PODS thing, but they want more paperwork filled out than when I joined the Military, just to get a quote. Needless to say I am not impressed. Please let me know of any of your experiences and avenues for shipping the household to Texas. I'm not necessarily looking for someone to come in and pack it all, we can handle that. I'm just looking for options and obviously a good price, right now it's looking like a $3K deal if we rent a truck and the fuel and whatnot....I'm not impressed with that either I'll be keeping an open mind and hopefully we'll get some alternate ideas, as always, Thanks in advance.

I just bought a 2005 Midnight Venture with 400 miles. I rode it 30 miles changed the oil and rode it another 480. The bike runs and sounds pretty good and I suspect it will run even better as I get some more miles under her and seat up the rings. Most factory machines can see a notable improvement with the addition of slip on mufflers, air filters and carburator jetting. Usually there inexpensive options avialable to those in the know. I think the Venture needs a little more gusto since it is heavy and has a mid sized motor. I think this combination/ design bike has been around since 99 so I would think there should be plenty of after market options out there. give me some news on what you all out there have done and how much it helped.

oil filter options..

as we first geners are limited in options for our filters. Is there an adaptor to use screww on filters. HOw much, who sell and pros and cons if this adapter exist. I'm haveing and impossible time finding the ch6002 filter in my area. No one is selling them here except for the stealors. Any help will be greatly appreciated. David -

I know there are lots of threads about headsets already here, but I didn't feel they applied. I've just purchased a 00 Millenium RSV. I pick it up at Thanksgiving. I would like to get a headset ordered that works with the factory plug. I've been checking the WWW and the options are way too many to know what to do Can you guys recommend the best one for this bike. I have open faced Fulmer helmets with a face shield. Thanks and love the sight.

I've been watching ebay and craigs list for the last few months, looking for the rack that sits on top of the moneypits trunk. No such luck. I don't suppose anybody out there has one sitting on a shelf in the shed?? Mine is too pitted to do anything with, about my only other options are to have this one sandblasted and powdercoated. Or finish with paint and use rubber plugs in the holes in the trunklid til I find one. Dont wanna go either route, but running out of options.Thanks, Joe.

OK, trying to locate Kuryakin ISO grip installation experiences. What do I type in the "search" field to find these, and not get 40,000 inaccurate responses? Tried a few options, but none of them worked. Got a bunch of irrelevent (?) stuff. any ideas?? tks

That's what I keep telling myself as I watch my retirement nest egg go down down down. 401K is a good thing but small company plans offer few fund options for moving money around in a down trend. I have watched the bond fund and money markets options for over 10 years. Never seen them make more then 3 or 4 percent in good times but during down trends at least they are good holding funds. I missed the peak in Oct 07 just like I did in 2000. Forget about calling your fund financial planner he only returns calls once every 6 weeks. So now we are waiting for the rebound. The funds I'm in have been good funds but across the board everything is down. So pour me another one as I analyze the difference between where I should be and where I am to the tune of down by $40,000 and falling.Things could be worse GM is down by 60% according to the news. So who on wall street just bought a new Harley on me?Waiting on a rebound.There is always plan B. Work till you die and spend the kids inheritance.

I want a brighter light for my 99 it looks as if the stock is sealed beam? What options are there that won't look to different then the passing lamps. I just want a whiter beam.

I want to install Custom Dynamics LED turn signal clusters front and rear but have a problem with the flasher options. The options available both have down sides I want to avoid; load equalizers get very hot and limit the use of 4 way flashers or replacing the flasher unit with their version eliminates the self cancelling feature of the bike's turn signals. Anyone know of another option?

Momamo's 99 has a cracked cowling and very bad scuffs behind the barons sticker. Inside the whole right side plastic tabs are gone so nothing to hold the screws in place. I have the right side secure with plastic wire ties. I'm not going to pay $450 for a new one so what are my options? I seen a used one sell on Ebay for $75 one time but probably never again. Maybe it's time for a beer 30 cowling hooter. Anybody any good at plastic repair. Getting close to paint time.

I have been exploring home heating options and have just about decided that there is no good solution. I cannot get natural gas here and propane has gotten expensive. I looked into Geothermal and had a heating contractor come out but it just doesn't make sense for me. He says that my furnace is already very energy efficient so my savings would be minimal. I already have a heat pump but the system switches to propane somewhere around 35F. So...there are just not a lot of good options. Was wondering if anybody has experience with or know somebody who is using Infrared heating? The system here looks interesting but there are no prices. I am thinking about buying some Rivco Air horns for my 2007 RSV. Does anyone know if there is a sound clip on line that will let me know what they sound like. Are there other options that might be better. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks JR

My wife wants a GPS for Xmas & it looks like everyone uses Garmin, are there any models with problems, as for options, I dont need bluetooth or mp3 , must be able to program on the road, Thanks Gambler
