Paid $700 2 years ago, money well spent until this week when the touch screen stopped working. $160 up front to send back to Garmin for repairs, but still cheaper than a new one. Can't say much for their tech support, I don't think she had ever seen a 550 screen and did not have a clue about what the problem was.

Venons made in April 08, installed in March 09, both have major cracking @ under 9 000 miles. Did not try to get replacements because I don't trust them at all now, went with Michelin.

I have had Venoms on for 9000 miles (9 months) and performance wise they are the best tire I have ever used. The bike is always kept garaged, tire pressure checked faithfully, etc. but both tires now have the much talked about cracking/checkering on the sidewalls making them unsafe. This issue has been brought up to Avon for a long time but they can't seem to find a solution, so, Commanders are ordered and Avons are in the trash!

I got 10500 miles out of the rear D404 that came on my 08 Venture. Liked the feel and ride so I replaced it with a new D404. Same pressure, riding style, etc., got less than 6000 miles on the replacement. Avon Venons ordered. Dunlop changed something and that tire should not be used!

Problem with new XXL Clearview

I have the XXL with tint and vent. We just got back from 5 days in Las Vegas for the Southwest StarBQ and we rode down the strip 2 nights. The view through the shield was perfectly clear with no reflections from all the lights. A bigger bonus was that the larger windshield caught the thousands of bugs on the trip to and from Vegas!! -

Thanks CMIK The tip about filing down the edge really helped. Had to take about 1/16 off all four to get them to drop in and seal properly, overall this was a snap. The extra brightness is fantastic and well worth the time and money! -

N3FOL Where did you put the stabilizer and were the wires you hooked into the same colors as the instruction say they will be? -
How do these pads do in hot weather riding, do they breath at all or retain heat?

Hey Vic I've been looking at maps for a couple weeks too, trying to get the best routes. Should be 3 of us going so maybe we can hook up and make the trip together. Gregg

I just split the fairing to try to trace down what is cauisng an intermitent noise over the radio system and when I took the chrome trim off I found the bolt that goes through the only actual hole in the Clearview had come completely out. Three of the remaining bolts were loose. I installed the shield in May and it has about 6000 miles on it. When I did the install I checked the tightness, rode it for awhile and rechecked to make sure the bolts were tight before I put the chrome back on. It seems there is a real problem here and some type of fix is needed.

I installed the risers on my 08 RSV Sunday. Loosened the clutch and brake lever assembly and slid down bars an inch or two, put in risers, got bars where I wanted them, tightened bolts and moved the brake and clutch back to original spots and tightened. Whole thing took 1/2 hour. Pad the tank good!!! Easy install and I like the new feel.

I recently put Edsets in my wifes 3/4. They are by far the best I've found in both quality and sound. The speakers have full range sound and the mic is crystal clear. We had a problem with the mic that was probably my fault. I called Ed to discuss it and he sent a replacement immediately with no questions asked, excellent customer service!

Put my new XXL on yesterday and did a few miles. Overall seems very good except for a terrible reflection from the gas cap that shows up in ther middle of the windshield and runs across it where the shield starts to curve. I'm leaving for the Laughlin River Run today and I made a temporary cap cover out of black material. Also had to change the top of my Zumo from the silver cover to the black one. We'll do about 1000 miles this week so it should be a good test.

I want to install Custom Dynamics LED turn signal clusters front and rear but have a problem with the flasher options. The options available both have down sides I want to avoid; load equalizers get very hot and limit the use of 4 way flashers or replacing the flasher unit with their version eliminates the self cancelling feature of the bike's turn signals. Anyone know of another option?
