Sorry, probably not the right folder but.... Has anyone dealt with this eBay seller? Pinwall Cycleparts http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=350090091169&Category=10066 They list a crash bar that would replace my, ahem, "bent" one... It's a bit hard to tell from the pics how bad the "road rash" is but it looks straight - can you see any thing wrong with it?

My headlight burns fine on high but is very dim on low beam. I tried a new bulb but it didn't help. Any ideas? Some have suggested the contacts in the switch may be bad. Can this switch be opened to clean the contacts? Any other ideas? Ronnie 83 Venture Standard:depressed::confused07::confused07:

Call me stupid......or maybe just lazy! Are there any Canadians out there who've done the math to calculate if their "mileage" (kilometrage?) is good or bad? On a trip home yesterday, I put 14.2 litres into the tank after travelling 233 kilometres. Is that good or bad? Anyone? Anyone? Thanks to any braniac/math/conversion wizzard for your help. Mike

Well wifey had her hip replacement yesterday. Doc said everthing looks real good. So far she isnt in too much pain....so far. Today they are gonna get her up and walking. Guess we will see how that goes. The staff where she is at has been great. The only thing she was worried about was that she had to have a spinal. She said it wasnt too bad. But shes an animal..."Not too bad" for her would drop most folks. LOL. I stayed the night with her and just ran home to shower and feed the dogs. Now I gotta strap the walker ( which she doesnt like HAHHA) to the back of the bike and motor back to the Orthapedic center where she is. I will keep ya posted.

Today I put the class control back on the bike and it works like new again. I used the info from the tech libary and went through the circuit board. Found several loose or bad solder joints that needed re-done other than the seven joints listed in the information. The moral of this story is: Check all solder joints when doing this repair.....

I have a new venture and I was wondering if the baffles can be taken out of the pipes and if so how does it sound? I see on here about putting HD on them but if I can do something with mine and it not sound bad why not. Thanks for the info

I went to set the cruse control today and it did not work. I made sure the switch was on but nothing. I turned it "the switch" off. I don't think I have ever had it in the off position because it really sticks out in off. Any way, I turned it back on and the lights came on for a second than back off. Did the same over and over. The last time I did it I left it off for a mile or so. Turned it back on and this time all is working. Go figure, maybe the switch went bad or is going bad?

I just wanted to say thank you for putting on such a great get together this weekend. Ron and I enjoyed meeting everybody. Thank you for allowing us the camping spot, too. We really loved West Virginia. We plan to come back to explore more of your beautiful state. Special thanks to Leslie for all the extra efforts she took on during this event. We are sorry we did not get to try her " stone soup" on Saturday. We ran into some really bad weather coming home. The good news is we met a bunch of really nice people along the way. We did not get home until 4:30 AM Sunday Morning. Thanks again, Peggy & Ron

The horn on the right side of my 2000 RSV is not working. I checked the voltage and it shows to be around 9.6 volts, when the horn button is pressed and 0 when not. Should it be 12 or greater? Is there a relay that could be going bad?

just got back from a 160 mile morning ride, and realized that the leg position is'nt as bad as i thought. my legs were in such bad shape i was getting to the point that i thought i was becoming cripple. then i realized i haven't really bent them much in the last couple of years and my knees were becoming very stiff. this wing has been the therapy i have been needing. i can actually get down on the floor and get up by myself and walk with no pain. this is great to not be in absolute pain 24 hours a day, and able to sleep with out tossing and rolling, and can get my feet up on the pegs on my zx14 without cringing from the pain. hallaluyah.

my 86 VR had some extra play in the driveline the last couple thousand miles. Took it to the shop, and tech says the bearing on the pinion gear shaft is bad. Says it caused some unusual wear on the teeth, and recommended a new final drive at $900 for parts only. Is this a lot for this part? Also, could the wear from the bad bearing be so bad that if we just replaced the bearing and seals and set the clearance again, that the gear noise would be bad, or it would fail again soon? My thought is that unless the wear was real deep, that the wear pattern would work into the new alignment eventually (another thousand or so miles) and be just fine. I will try to inspet in person next week, and have time to order the new part or just the bearing. Tried to get a used unit on E-bay and was out-bid. Am I being too penny pinching with this repair? The cost is about 1/3 the value of the bike, and will come close to the total value with the other repairs also being made. I love the bike, and wanted to keep it going for a couple more years, it only has 30,000 miles and everything works and looks good. Thoughts?

I want to purchased brake pads front and rear to keep in stock for my 06 Venture. Any favorite brand and type? Any good or bad experience? Not looking for the cheapest nor for GP types, just a good set.

I got to take it out on somebody and you are a pretty good target.... My radio suddenly stopped working. And I know why. It is Condor's fault. See the way I figure is like this. With that new fork brace on the bike, I have been joyfully entering the curves and appreciating the smooth ride except for the occasional bump or two. Well, maybe a bit more than that, but with my progressive springs, well, can't be too bad. So. Radio suddenly stops working. I think sad thoughts. Ready to start looking for blown fuse, torn wires, bad radio, other horrible options. Then. I see the whole radio insert thingie is sitting lopsided. Press it back in place and wallah everthing is fine. Had it not been for Condor getting us a good fork brace for a good price none of this would have ever happened! __________________

The wind pushed a gixxer off of its sidestand and on it's side here at work. Too bad for him, I think he replaced some plastic recently. And, whats he doin' on a bike today anyway.

It's bad enough that they were popping wheelies on the freeway. But they chose to block every lane just to show off. These are the knuckleheads that give motorcycling a bad name. http://www.king5.com/video/featured-index.html?nvid=254976

I am visiting family over 200 miles form home and my bike isn't running correctly. Ran between 55 and 60 all the way and got just about 46 miles per gallon but when I am at low rpms and hit the gas, I have a bad hesitation, I think it is missing on one cylinder until rpms get up a little then it takes off. Changed the plugs but no help. Put sea foam in and no help. Wonder if I have a diaphragm that went bad? If so how hard is it to replace? Any help would be appreciated. How do I tell which diaphragm it is?

OK folks, before I tear the bike apart, I could use some advice. The patient is an 89 MkII that is new to me. Three different time I've had the bike die will running at highway speeds. The power down is sudden, and complete, no sputtering as if fuel was running out, more like the kill switch was hit. Once I've pulled the bike over, the starter has not wanted to spin, and I've heard and electrical "crackling" from under the false cover. If the bike is allowed to sit and cool down, it will happily start and run, at least until it gets hot. The first manifestation was at the end of a 150+ mile run with some GoldWing folks on Memorial Day, and then earlier in the week on the way back from the son's soccer game across town. Other symptom is a bad neutral switch. Thought I was stranded on the GW ride when the bike wouldn't turn over at all until I put the side stand up. Neutral indicators don't like to work well when the bike gets warm, work much better when the bike is cold. I've replaced the battery cables (about time, kinda like the cobbler's kids not having shoes!) and currently suspect two separate problems. First problem is the starting issue, and I'm thinking either bad solenoid (electrical "crackling" noise) or gummed up starter that doesn't like being hot. Could a bad sidestand switch be my culprit? I'm thinking about cleaning it out and possibly fitting a telltale light to the circuit to show that it is or is not working. Thoughts from the collective? (We are Venturers of Borg, you will be assimilated!) Thanks, Paul P.S. Sorry for the StarTrek joke, I'm a SciFi geek at heart!
