Hi y'all! Newbie here again and I've got yet another stoopid question. Where's the stinkin' tool kit supposed to be hidden on my '84 Venture Royale? I suspect it's supposed to be in the bottom of one of the saddlebags and the safety chain in the other. I have nothing in either bag and trying to find out where it's supposed to be in the owner's manual is proving to be a fruitless search. Now the next part of this stoopid question is, if in fact my original tool kit is missing (I bought the bike used), was it ever really worth having in the first place? The bikes of my youth were always equiped with tool kits that contained things that resembled tools and could sometimes be used as such if the user was frustrated enough. My thinking is to make a new tool fit containing a universal screwdriver and a small pair of vise grips.

HI everyone, I'm about to put Bub 4-2 exhausts(full system, not slip ons) on my '06 RSTD. Has anyone done this? Did you have to rejet? If so, where did you get your jet kit? I can't find jet kits for this bike anywhere. I have already put K&N filters on it. Any help would be great.

Asheville is almost here and I got work to do. The voyager kit is coming off the 99 this week. I'm putting the RSV on the lift for a little maintenance. I might as well remove the tank,fenders,etc for a paint job while it's down. I got scarlet (89) in storage at Skids for a while. Wonder what the storage fee will be?I need the room in the shed for the work on the 99. If this plan comes together you will see it in Asheville.It depends on how much pink it turns out to be. I ordered some new electrical test gear today for my tool kit. You never know when you might see a 05 wing smoking beside the road.Is that the sound of a venture firing up in Ivadale?

Hi everybody, I need some of your knowledge and opinions folks. I have a stock 07 RSV. I'm 5'7" and I'm on my tips of my toes when I stop. I spoke with the yamaha dealer and they said there is a lower kit, but it only lowers it 1 inch. I've read the past thread about seat height, but is there a lower kit that will drop the bike 2 inchs? Basically, I need at two inches...any thoughts, ideas. I really love my bike and was planning keeping it until it died, but if I can't resolve the height of the bike issue, I'm not going to be able to keep it...it's just too tall for me. Larry

Anyone know where I can get a jet kit for my '07 Venture? I've looked at Dynajet but it stays it's for years 1996 to 2001. I don't know if this would work or not. Don't know if they changed something on the carbs after 2001. Any Help? Thanks.

Ok it looks like a solid motor mount upgrade may fix the wobble problem on the first gens. That the feed back I'm getting from the poll on the subject and other thread research. Is this a Yamaha kit upgrade or an after market product? What about cost for parts? Is this a winter upgrade project or a weekend job? Any Pros and Cons to the upgrade or is everybody happy with the solid motor mounts? I need part #'s.Is the kit the same for an 84 and 89?

I recently purchased this kit for my 05 RSTD. Darn thing won't install on my bike. The seller claims it installs inabout 15 minutes. When I tried to install the parts over the existing valve stems the little thingy that the air hose goes on hits the top of the triple tree cover. I tried removing the TT cover and then the kit installed no problem, however then the Triple Tree cover could not be reinstalled. What the H*LL? Anyone else have any experience with this problem? HELP!!!!! Snake:225:

Does anyone know if there is an LED Brake Light kit for the RSTD? I want to switch out the entire brake light assembly, and have a full LED kit. I find the LED lights on other bike just amazing. And it seems like a safety issue as well. Is there an aftermarket kit available that does not require extensive re-wiring? Any help most appreciated. Sonny

Anyone know any alternatives to the 2 air filter boxes on an 06 TD, I have a friend who has a venture also, and we have been searching for alternatives other than the 300 dollar chrome ones, I looked at the barons big air kit, and can't see that it would work on this new of a bike.

Has anybody installed the performance front lowering kit from Baron. It's a complete set with springs, valve emulators etc? If so, is there much work/money involved? Should this work be left to a dealer/bike shop? And, was there a considerable improvement in ride, handling etc? Thanks, chachi -

OK, so I'm technically challenged!! I got the Electrical Connection Taillight Conversion Kit, sounded like a good and Easy idea for the 2008 RSV.. I figured out the wiring connections, but darned if I can figure out how to get the turn signal bulb grommet out of the lollipop without tearing it up. I believe this must be removed so the wiring can follow the same path as the original wiring. Also there is no slack in the wiring even after removing the lollipop from the fender so no room to play with. If it's only a matter of pull&rip, I can get the grommet out, but I'd rather not. While I'm in there I'd like to replace that FUBAR light socket with an 1157 socket. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I've had her apart for 2 days now and I've scratched a bald spot on the 'ol noggin.

Still a lot of snow out here but getting really anxious for spring. I bought an '84 Venture and it didn't have a tool kit. I am putting some tools together (pliers, spark plug wrench, multi tool, etc...) I wonder if anyone has experience with "on the road" issues and could point to any particular tool or item I should keep in my tool kit.

I found a site that offers a trailer kit with 12" wheels and leaf spring suspension for $650. This price includes shipping to my home. This kit does not include the cargo box butg does have a swivel hitch. I priced the cargo box at sears for $189. This site also offers the same kit with torsion suspension for $850. My question is this---is the torsion suspension worth the $200 difference?

Ok here it goes i am looking at getting a stebel natulis horn for my rsv. Any suggestion on where the best price might be?? Also has anyone had any problems with one? Also the barrons lowering kit ...does it change the handleing at all good or bad, at 5'7" i could use about an inch closer to the ground and dont want to mod the seat cause its really comfy...

Kit and Dave38X stopped by to show us Kit's new ride! Beautiful bike as evidenced by the pictures! Kit and Dave are off for a Sunday afternoon ride to McLeod Farms for ice cream and peach enchilida. It is a beautiful day for one! Poor Sleeperhawk - can't go for a ride yet - Pony still waiting parts:crying: but hopefully by next weekend, we will be out there too!!!

I bought a harbor freight trailer kit. I will be painting it black as the standard red paint just doesn't go with my 2 tone blue 89 VR. I am curious as to what others have put on top of the trailer. I have looked at the Sears x-cargo 189.99 http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02872020000P?vName=Automotive&cName=Automotive+Accessories&sName=Car+Top+%26+Hitch+Carriers The dimensions look like it would be alright. I checked into painting it to match the bike but wow. The body man said it would be $200 or more. That sort of negates the savings of the HF kit. He also incouraged me to get something in fiberglass. So, What have others put on top of their HF kits? Tim Lantz

I'm looking at a 2006 RSV...the dealer said it has the "optional" stereo kit installed. What is it that's not "standard"? Also, from the front there are 2 small lights (besides the headlight). Are those driving lights that actually do something for you or are they just the yellow lights that don't do much?

It appears that I need a carb rebuild kit according to the shop I took my bike to. They said it will cost $250 + shipping. Any idea if this price sounds right, and what source/vendor would you buy it from if you are a do it yourself mechanic?

I am thinking about going ahead and ordering the baron's lowering kit. My question is did you notice a change in travel? Did the bike bottom out? Are you dragging hard parts in the curves? I think I would really like the looks of the bike with this kit and sliding the forks in the trees. Height for me really isn't the issue, it's looks, but I want to know the draw backs before I do it. Got the Barons SubSonic tach in today and I figured that since I have to take the tank off to install the tach, that I might as well install some mood lights while I am at it. I am considering the Custom Dynamics Standard CD LED Accent Kit. It is $114 for the kit. Is this a good price or should I be looking elsewhere. I plan to put the blue lights on my Midnight RSV, just because I love the look that Boomer has on his bike.
