Joe, you have to call for a new Target. Of Course you could also recall the Summit Target, it wouldn't be against the Rules, but a setting a new Goal might be better than redo a achieved one.

I didn't know your second Name was Thomas ... :D :D Jack, i said it above, i've used EVERY Tool and Trick i know. Reverse bleeding with a big 200cc Syringe was one of them. I dismounted the M/C and temporary mounted it on spare Handlebar which i strategically placed in a Way that the Line wouldn't take a Bow above the bottom of the Reservoir. Didn't help either. I agree on the Banjo Bolt is Part of the Problem, but even a low Pressure in the Line gives the Air kinetic Force to move upwards.
-
Jack, basically, you're right in your Description. The Air can't get out unless the Lever is left loose the next Day. But you have to see what happens while you hold the Line under Pressure for a long Time, e.g. 8 Hours at least. All the Air in the Line is forced due the Pressure in the Line towards the most upwards Points in the Line. This could either be the Clutch Slave or the Clutch Reservoir. Once you let the Lever out on the next Morning, most of the Air will come out through the Expansion Hole on the bottom of the Reservoir. You may even be able to pump the Air out of the Line. Last Time i bled my Clutch on the Venture, even when using every Trick and Tool, i couldn't build up a good Pressure in Line. Always felt squishy. I pulled the Lever and went home. The next Day, a Lot of Air cam out, but still not the Feeling like i has to be. So i brought up my Tools again and prepared to use my Air Pressure driven Vacuum Bleeder. I was so frustrated, i even opened the Bleeder and wanted to let the Fluid drip out of the Valve, but there was none to see. I pulled the Lever, once, twice, three Times and i was like i would see Bubbles coming up through the Bleeder. Another two or three Strokes brought Fluid up and i closed the Bleeder. Whalla .... Another Night with pulled Lever to the Handlebar and everything was perfect.

You should open the Throttle two to four Times before switching back. You need some Fuel sucked through the Engine into the Exhaust before it would explode in the Collactor or Mufflers.

Front fork rebuild questions
Squeeze replied to Tupperj's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I second Danob Statement. Even if you can get the Parts out and you don't damage them while dismouting, they may be wrecked anyway. Buying new Parts may be a Lot more expensive than picking up used Forklegs. -
Don, i just started thinking about how much Safety Chrome might be available for your Lawn Mower ?? With your Preliminaries, you'd better start the Chroming there.

Randy, thanks for the Compliments, but i think there's A LOT of Room for Improvement left. The only Thing which makes it easier for me, depending on time of the Day and Brain already used up, i'm starting to think in English. Not forming a Sentence or Sequence in german and then translating this, but start to type directly in English. But still searching for Terms and Vocabulary on a lot of Postings. (If you saw that Movie with Clint Eastwood Years ago, he stole a russian Fighter Plane which had Brain controlled Functions. But the Computer only recognized Russian Thoughts :) ) -
The 1200 Carbs are virtually the same as the 1300cc Carbs. They will fit and function, but this could only be temporary fix. The Jetting is different.

When the rubber Boots of the Airfilters try to slip off, take a Heat Gun and carefully give them some Hot Air. The Rubber Boots are getting flexible and you will have no Problem to seat them and clamp them down. -
Four Hours to Qualifying for the French Grand Prix. SIlver looks fast, red is not slower, BMW looks a bit behind. Renault seems o be stronger than before on their Home Turf

EBC HH Pads are the best Combination in dry Performance, Wear of the Rotors, Wet braking and Price for the front of any Yammi Bike. Now, if you feel your rear Brake sensitive and a bit overpowered, you'd better stay away from the EBC HH Pads on the rear. If so, choose EBC standard, organic Pads instead.

Parts ??? Motor, Carbs and Airbox plus the Tank, i wouldn't ride on that rear Wheel and the Swingarm/ final Drive ?? Who knows

Sorry, i did not found the correct English Term in my Brain, so i put through a Translator which obviously brought it up wrong. I guess chattering would describe it good. If you let the Lever out to a specific Point where the Clutch isn't biting enough to move the Bike, you can feel kind of a Vibration in the Lever first. If you let the Lever out for another minimal Amount, you feel the Bike not move but the Clutch grabs a little bit. Once you let the Lever out over this Point, you can work with the Clutch as it works on a standard Clutch. It's hard to explain, Kind of a rattling Feeling just before the Clutch bites. I feel it more on my Bike than on other Bikes with standard axial Mastercylinders, because i have radial ISR M/C's on my Max. It's a bit strange in first Place, but when you get used to it, the Clutch performs much better than in stock Setup. -
It nearly doesn't matter how much Ampere is going through the Switch. If the Contacts are bad enough(high Resistance) you could have them melted away with as low as 0.5 Amps. It just needs more time to melt.

HELP>..RSTD Fuel smell
Squeeze replied to drumfire's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
This is actually not a such a stupid Idea. If there's a Pressure Build up in the Fuel Line by a non Venting Line, the Gas in the Floater Bowls will evaporate as designed. But. as the Floaters Bowl are filled from the Pressure in the Tank and through the Fuel Pump, the Amount of evaporating Gas will be a Lot more than normal. This may not apply to Don's Problem because he had the Fume everytime, but other than this Condition, checking the Vent Line may be a good Idea.- 18 replies

HELP>..RSTD Fuel smell
Squeeze replied to drumfire's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
If you cover the Bike and leave it out in the Sun, there always will be a Smell on a carburated Engine. This is not Bike or V4 specific. They all have to have Vents on Top of the Carbs. I don't know for sure, but i think the California Model has a Canister to catch those Fumes. If it bugs you, you might take a Look in the Cali Model and could probably mount this venting Setup. I think some Members got rid of it and have it lying around in the Cabinet.- 18 replies

I sincerly suggest looking into that Issue soon. It's not a Question if the Switch will give up on you, but only when that's going to happen. Has anybody tried to get into the Switch? Cleaning and bending Contacts, expanding the Springs inside the Contacts ? I mean, hey, a Lot of the 2Genners are out of Warranty and that Beast is not cheap. Maybe someone could figure this out and do a complete Write Up on repair/remanufacture this Hassle. On all the other Yamaha Switches i've seen, i was able to dismount the Assembly and clean the Contacts and pull the Springs a bit longer at the Contact Sheets to have more Force on them.

I know this Pics, there's everything bend underneath. You'll need the whole Frame Assembly.

Squeeze replied to RidingArk's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It's hard to explain. From my Point of View, the outer(seen as the flat Part) part has to against the flat Ring, the inner, seen as the elevated Part of the concave or convex Ring has to against the Steel Plate. But then, i think i wouldn't damage anything when you mount it the 'wrong' Way. The Steel Plate is held by the Wire, there is always a little bit of Pressure on the Plates outside of the Wire. What this Ring does is making up a little Spring which forces the half Disc to engage first when the Clutch Lever is going to be depressed. This Setup prevents the Clutch from picking. The Vmax Guys replace this half Disc and the two Rings with a full Size Disc and leave the Wire out to soup up the Clutch a bit. But this can cause the Clutch picking when it is partially engaged. I have this also, but it doesn't bug me at all. I can feel it 2 out 50 Times when taking off. -

First Thing which goes into the Basket is the half Sized Friction Plate, next Thing is the flat Ring, then the concave Ring. That's how you stated it. The concave Ring goes in with the elevated inner Contact Patch against the the following Steel Plate. Then the Wire, then a standard Friction Plate and on. Watch out for the Notches and Marking on the Clutch Boss. -
Nono ... That couldn't been you. I never heard her lighting up a Cigarette nor taking a pull .... :rotf::rotf: Gotcha ...

Unknowingly ?? Mistake ??? She did take Credit for her Action ? Did she ? I remember the Porch Guy shouting "She didn't do anything, although she was there" All i'm saying, this all would make me very suspect. I would do a Lot to get my Hand on a Copy of the Video. Not that is lost in outer Space when you need Evidence to prove that you did hit the Truck with your Bike.

Randy, i'm sorry for all that happeing to you, but if that wasn't a hit'n'Run what else would be seen so ? I don't know much about the System but this LEO would cause me being suspect. 400 Bucks ?? taking the Charges down ? Inadvertly noting your false Parking ?
