Second gear \ install issue
Squeeze replied to Marcarl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well Brad, i'm not going to say that you are wrong, but since i did this more than once, i got to say i know what we're talking about. It did cost me and my Helpers some Scrapes and some Blood Loss every time... Four Weeks ago, i did get it managed that the Lever i used to undo the Tire from the Rim ended up hitting my Head. Causing a small Cut above the Lash on left Eye and MASSIVE Blood Loss. I had three big Paper Rags full of Blood until the bleeding stopped. Afterwards, my Shop looked like a Butcher has gone over thirteen Pigs and had a Lot overtime. But you know, that's the Price you have to pay. Nobody said it's easy to do. But i'm sure Carl will take the next Step, even with a little extra Pain. :rotf::rotf: -
Second gear \ install issue

:rotf::rotf: That was my first Thought, but didn't dare to mention them, because you're one fine 'mechanically inclined' Butcher in my Book. Oh well, whatever it takes... Motor Mission accomplished -

Squeeze replied to BigShell's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
not exactly 75 mph, but it sure will loose some on the Top End. Maybe 10 or 15 mph. -
VMax rear end - first 600 miles
Squeeze replied to BigShell's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I was sure, most Guys would like the shorter rear End, but your Records made out the Guestimate of others and myself that the Mileage won't get hurt, or at least not going real bad. I just want to thank you for a real investigative Approach on this Swap Issue. -
Got 'er done!!!!
Squeeze replied to Dano's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hi Dan, your taken a tremendous Job, you have my sincere Respect for that. Hats off !!! Anyway, when the Thust Washer are the only Problem, you have to split the Case to fix them. I would undercut the Dogs of the Gears anyway. Thats no big Deal and doesn't cost anything except an extra Hour of Work. -
Just keep the Lever pulled over Night for the next few Days with Zip-Tie or a Wire. The last Bubbles will come out every Time you release ait in the Morning.

At the Current Exchange Rate, 22,000 USD is right. Safety will not be much of an Issue, the Saftey Cell is build out of Carbon Fibre.

I think, the "If" can be deleted. They have been seen Test riding a new Vmax in Italy. My Dealer said, they expect Yammi to unveil the new one in Fall 2008 at the Fair in Cologne or Paris.

Please do not mix Things up. Vmax Gear Ratio is dfferent(shorter) than the Venture. Both will fit bolt on the later Ventures. The 83 has a different final Drive and a different Drive Shaft. But the newer Venture and the Vmax Drive fit Bolt on when using the also later Drive Shaft. As you said, you need to screw the ShockBolt out of the Vmax final Drive.

I'm sure, there's is another Posting abpout the Comparison of the Jets, but this is what i found so far ... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=153802&postcount=4

Sorry, searched over half an Hour, but i can't find it.

As i said in the other Thread, i think the '83 are different. The '83 has different Jets and Jet Needles and Springs. If they mechanically fit, for me it's a different lifter Boring on the bottom. I think Dragonrider has posted the Table of Jet sized 3 or 4 Weeks ago.

Not Ghost Rider, you might like it or not, but impressive anyways

Down and out!!!!!!
Squeeze replied to Kurt827's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey, sorry about your Accident, but i'm sure glad that you can tell us about it. Broken Collar Bone is no Fun, but it will heal. That may take a while, but ... How did the Bike ran before ?? -
Undo the Bar Ends, lift the Grips with a smaller Screwdriver and blow compressed Air in the Gap you crated with the Tip of the Screwdriver. Move the Screwdriver around the Bar, maintaining the slightly lifting Position. Once youre aorung the Bar and see the Grip moving put the nozzle of the Airgun in the Gap and turn the Grip with the other Hand. Borrow your Managers Hairspray Can and use it to glue the new Grips in Place. Check the Grips, they have different Diamter inside. The larger Diameter goes on the right Side on the Throttle.

Well, when is reread my previous Posting, i've made a wrong Statement. That was what my Gut said me and therefore it expected this somehow. I said the TB's are 'unround' on the lower Connection. Well, they are round, but inner and outer Diameter are not centered. The inner Middle is not in the Middle of the outer Diameter. Sorry, for my false Quote. Therefore, an Adapter has to be unround to fill the Gap between a round Manifold and the round Air Duct through the TB. 1Gen means the early Ventures, from 1983 to 1993. They have bigger Carbs with 34 mm Boring. Your '06 has only 32mm Carbs. Because the Casings of the 1Gen 34mm Carbs and the 35mm Vmax Carbs are the same, those Manifolds of have a larger mounting Diameter with 42mm and 35mm inside. They may fill your Need much better than the Manifolds you have on the Bike. At least on the upper half of the Manifolds. You can make Spacers which fill the Gap between both Parts. I sincerly suggest to get to your Bike, take Carbs and Manifolds of and take Pics and Measurements of the Intake Ports on the Heads and the Bolt Pattern and Sizes. Then make a Mockup out of a Sheet of Metall or thick Aluminium with the correct Angles and Bolts. Then get some Manifolds out of a 1Gen and all four Rubber Boots for the TB's. It will not work out only with Theory in Use. Your working here in 3 Dimensions and this usualy causes some unexpected Outcome in first Place.

Can you post a Pic of the bottom of a TB ? I'd like to see the mounting Diameter to the Manifolds and the Throttle Plates.

Hey Randya.....dumb Question!!!!!!
Squeeze replied to dwichert's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hi Denny, i'm not Randy but to answer your Question, the upper and lower half of the Casing are sealed with Gasket Fluid or Silicon, which Yamaha suggests. -
You can test a Temp-Sensor with every cheap digital Meter. Temp-Sensors only go by Resistance up or down when getting hot. Not much of a Challenge. I think 60 Sets in two Years are a Lot. You may not forget, we here in Europe have extensive Pollution Laws in most Countries and it's hard and expensive to pass the Tests. I know were the ECU and a Lot of other Parts are coming from. He's not making 50 Percent. Take a Look on the EURO/USD Exchange Rates and the US Dealer doesn't deal and work for Heaven's Sake and a warm Handshake only. As for all the Rest, as i said, this is not the Thread to discuss this and therefore i Rest my Case here. If Don or a Mod would split the Thread, we can go on if you like.
