  1. I have a set of stock pipes from an 06 RSTD. What do you have on your bike now? I am looking for a little louder than Harley pipes I have on the bike now. Thanks
  2. Have a GREAT vacation. Don't even think about the patches til you get home. Thanks for getting for all of us!!
  3. Just posting a warning to everyone about using Harbor freight ramps to load a Venture. I bought the ramps just knowing they were going to be the cats meow. Had them around since 2-29-12 & just used them for the first time last Friday. Hooked onto the little trailer I have, backed into the shop door, lined the Venture up and drove it on. No problem????? Drove to Hog roast / Poker Run for ABATE Dist # 10. Went to unload next morning while the boss was in the 5th wheel "gettin purdy". Mark & I had agreed that we would meet in a city that was about 60 miles from each of us. I had a long hour to unload & prep for the short ride. WELL, I put the ramp on the end of the trailer, unstrapped the Venture and proceeded to roll back to the ramp and eased onto it...........BANG,xy//!!..!@#$%^&, oh no the ramp must have slipped. Nope it broke right where the tang sets on the trailer, then broke the hinges (3 of them) between the sections. Fortunately the trailer was only about a foot tall, but there I sat with the rear wheel stuck between the sections about half way down the ramp and the bike still about 2 feet on the trailer. Well I hollered for Babe, and I hollered for Babe, AND I HOLLERED FOR BABE, well you guessed it she thought I was hollering for the dogs & ignored me. So I finally thought you can't stand here all morning so I tried to push the bike back off the ramp, but when it went back about another foot it pinched on the non-broken ramp and pushed the bike over to the right & you all know what came next. Yep, I just got my right leg out of the way and let the 980# behemoth lay down. Dammit. You all know the feeling or if you don't you will some day. Well 3 guys came to my rescue & helped me set the bike back up (Thanks Pig Cookers" and get it off of the trailer & broken ramp. Of course I was 15 min late getting to meet Mark & Babe said "What took You so long??" Gish. Oh well nobody got hurt & Venture got one little mark. My 1st to put on it. Long story with a warning. When I got home I read the label on the box I took the ramp out of Friday. "1500# capacity cumulatively 500# on each section evenly distributed". WELL everyone knows you read the direction after the SCR3W UP. Be careful if you buy one of these ramps they will let you down if you know what I mean.
  4. Don, What a great post..!!!! I laughed out loud & Babe looked over & asked what kind of joke I had just read. You really hit the nail on the head about what we all see when we really look at what is in the mirror. We have been prepping machinery for sale and cleaning 7 out buildings that I have hauled stuff to for 20 years. We had our retiring farm sale the 25 th of April and we've been cleaning up every since. Now if the farm would sell I could move to town and not have to farm any more. Thanks for the BELLY LAUGH, I needed it.
  5. The generous VR member should be outed. I think I know the guy & I'll tell you he is one of the most generous, giving, helpful, thoughtful, VR member we have here. Thanks
  6. She's a Beauty..!!! Now ENJOY..!!!!
  7. The coupon is for real. Don't buy the one on ebay, just get a "Cruiser" or "Bagger" or any othe Motorcycle magizine & Harbor freight has a 1 or 2 page ad with lots of coupons on their ad. I bought one of the lifts & it works very well, although the front clamp is a little flimsy. Phoneman1981 put one of the chalks on the lift, but was unable to get bike back out of chalk without help so he put his chalk on the lift. How did it work Mark? Lots of coupons in the magazine ads. Great deals on tools, gloves, battery chargers, chalks. Our HF store in Fort Collins, CO let me use all the coupons I wanted when I told the manager we lived 200 miles away and couldn't come in several days to use, "One coupon per day, per customer". Nice people! Maybe not professional grade tools, but for the novice garage mechanic on a SS budget, the price is right.
  8. Mark, I printed a copy of this to put in our catalog of knowledge. I'll let you store it in your new toolbox.
  9. I'm planning on riding to the Comfort suites in Denver if they run on schedule. I'm leaving from Brush the next morning @ 5AM with a cousin heading to Graham, TX for a small family reunion. If they run late I will probably drop out of "Escort" at Ft Morgan. I don't like to ride in the dark because of the deer. All of the farmers are discing up the corn stalks, so the deer are really on the move. Don't want to have a "Dano" meeting with a deer.

  11. We have a really fun "ESCORT" next Thursday. We are escorting 6 van loads of WWII Vets to DIA airport in Denver, CO for their flight to view the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. Escort starts in Alliance, NE and winds through W Nebraska, E Colorado picking up escort riders & Vets along the way. Then we get to spend the evening with the Vets at the Hotel before they fly out Friday morning. GREAT chance for us to THANK them for their SERVICE to our country.
  12. Like several other replies "THANKS" we all needed a good laugh.
  13. Babe & I send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Especially your Mother. You are such a good Son and your Parents are really lucky to have had you to help them in their closing years of their lives. You are one of the most giving and caring people I have ever known. Your Dad is really proud of You & is watching over all of you. You're really lucky to have such great memories with your folks, and thanks for sharing some of your experiences with them and your Brother. I really appreciated being included.
  14. Sorry for your loss. Don't live in the East, but if you get to W NE, or E WY give Mark (Phoneman1981) or me a call.
  15. Thanks for making these available again!! I would like to order (3) 3 1/2", (3) 5", (2) 7", (2) 9". Let me know the charges & I will PayPal you. Again THANKS..!!! I was lucky enough to win one of these patches at the 2011 Int. Rally in Cody. Have been wondering where I could get more. Please make all with iron on adhesive on back.
  16. Anybody else having trouble finding this new thread?
  17. Thanks for posting the photos of the race & grandstands. GREAT PHOTOS..!!!! I listened to the race as we don't get FOX here. Really good race & it sounded like the wind was really bad. Could have been worse. The severe storms were pretty close.
  18. What kind of mileage did you get from these tires? Did they give you good handling? Thanks for the info. Nice looking Bike..!!!
  19. Thanks for your input. I still don't know whether I will use the Shinko or the Dunlops.
  20. Do you remember what the original tires were?
  21. Well here goes. I've read all the posts about Shinko 777 vs Dunlop 404's. Most of the post or threads were for Gen 1. I am going to put WWW on my 2000 RSV MM and trying to decide on which of the only two brands that handle MT90-16 for the front & 150/90-15 for the rear, Shinko & Dunlop. Anybody with experience with these tires or any suggestions where to find more brands of WWW tires in these sizes. Sorry to start this thing about tires again, but I haven't found any really definitive answers about these tires for a 2nd Gen.
  22. So sorry to hear of your loss. Babe & I send our heart felt thoughts of Love to You and Your Family. You will all be in our prayers.
  23. I think one of the most important signs on eBay is the sellers info in the upper right hand corner. It tells you how many items this seller has sold & the customer rating on the transactions. If I see a seller has less than 95% positive seller feedback I am very cautious. I have bought over $200,000 worth of items on eBay. Most of them have been small $ purchases, but have bought 4 semis, 3 farm tractors & 6 vehicles on eBay with only one vehicle that wasn't as good as I hoped. As my Gandfather taught me when I was going to farm auctions with him. "Buyer Beware" is the rule of thumb, and not everyone is as honest as we are. Nearly all sellers have a place where you can ask questions, so be cautious & ask if you have any doubts.
