  1. Hey, you qualify on at least one of the criteria now.
  2. went for a ride today. nuff said.
  3. Really a hard bike to compare to a venture. I rode a nomad FI for several years. It was a strong, reliable bike. I would not be to concerned about the V-twine. It will likely go faster than you need to move on two wheels. The nomad is definitely a cruiser style and not a tourer. If I could own two, I would probably have keep the nomad for short around town rides. It is not a comfortable bike for the passenger, but was not TO bad for the driver. It really is an apples and oranges comparison though.
  4. I use a linksys wireless-G, with 3 antennas, works very well all over the house. Whichever one you select will run faster than the cable connection will. It seems like the draft standards for wireless change faster than microsoft comes ou with security patches so do not get to wrapped up in the "N", "G", etc terms.
  5. Sounds like you have a good case for theft of services charges to me. The licensing thing could be an issue, but an email threat that you WILL be filing charges for theft could help. Give a specific deadline.
  6. I tried contacts - they dry out to badly for me. I use a magnetic clip and it works fine for me. The magnet is in the middle. The sunclip has a "U" shapped magnet that "sticks" to the bridge.
  7. Ken, you might check some of the harley boards for a suggestion on more room. Stock you can move the tourpack back about 2 inches. Kuryakyn also sells a kit to move the pack back. Are the passanger floorboards in the lowest position? They are adjustable I think. This guy gets good reviews on a tourpack kit on other forums: George Anderson Moline, IL Home: 309-762-6291 Cell: 309-236-0952 I have a set of Kuryakyn adjustable passenger pegs on mine that my wife really likes. She seldom uses the foot boards - go to passenger solutions to find the right set. Guess the point is, you might want to try a few things before selling, but bottom line is if you aren't happy with the bike - and more importantly if your wife isn't happy - get something else. Even though you saved 3500, you might loose a buck or two. Even with very low miles, its still used. If someone has to finance the 3500 will not make a huge difference in monthly payments. For someone paying cash, the discount would be attractive.
  8. I think Ken bought through a special program for LEO's and Firefighters. Not just off the street pricing. I personally do not think it is to much to expect to ask people to not abuse that program. Ken - not saying that is what you were doing at all so please do not get offended. Personally understand that a company - any company would not want to see that program abused.
  9. Great car... Do you have the Discount Tire chain in your area? I have used them a few times. Once a customer, free rotate and flat repair for life. Even if you buy a new car and tires did not come from there. If you are in their system, your always a customer.
  10. Well - another update. Our second iphone is now broken, With both phones the battery charges then simply does not hold the charge. After being on the charger all night, it stays charged for less than a day - will NO use. The repair process is send it in and they fix and send back (or a refurbished replacement). Apple refuses to refund your money and AT&T refuses to do anything at all except tell you to call Apple. So, third phone is on the way.
  11. Really got my hopes up. Thought we had another convert! :-)
  12. Helments are like Motorcycles - they all fit differently. I wore Arai for a while and really thought I liked them until I tried on a Shoei J-wing. The Shoei fits my egg-shaped head much better. I also like the shield removal of the Shoei better. I switch between tinted and clear shields on occasion. Much easier to do on the Shoei. Someone else said it - try them on they do not feel the same.
  13. Good bikes - I rode a 2001 Nomad prior to my current ride. Sold it last year for 5K, so the price may be a bit high. It was a nice around town bike, but a little more top heavy than your would think.
  14. Geez your getting gray...and ... and... older
  15. Melatonin - I take it on the first night on the road when traveling on business http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/articles/258.html
  16. Have Vista on one PC and XP on two others at home. Gotta say, I HATE Vista. Maybe it just because it is different, but just cannot get used to it and the performance. Will probably move to XP, but just do not have the time right now.

    j&m

Just the opposite experiences with J&M. I had a minor issue with a headset that was taken care of quickly and with no hassles. You might try http://www.sierra-mc.com/ They carry J&M and are prompt in delivery.
  18. No snow in East Texas yet - if we are lucky we get one snowfall a year - usually a couple of inches, but it does make a mess. Sand and salt everywhere for a couple of weeks at least. Just been wet here. No riding since the week before Christmas.
  19. I have been with directv for several years as well. I think the HD content is pretty consistent across both providers. I do like a couple of features on the DirecTv receiver. Not sure if Dish has it or not, but you can plug your HR20 receiver into your network and have access to all of your music, video and pictures stored on the PC.
  20. Sorry Don, we are down to 1 as well from our high total of 5. The one is an attention hound. If sitting, she is in your lap. If you stand and look out the window, she is at your feet wanting to be picked up.
  21. Got Judy an iPhone for Christmas. Made me want one, but am limited to Blackberry devices because of work. The iPhone is overpriced, but decent phone and great music player. The interface is extremely well done. All that said, the battery on the first one lasted about 45 minutes - when not being used. Took it back and was told it is a fairly common problem. AT&T will not service the iphone. Their agreement with Apple is they all have to be sent to Apple. Apple did supply a loaner and ended up replacing the phone.
  22. I wear a Shoei J-Wing. They are great helmets.
