  1. I did have to customize the vent a bit. Because the windshield was too thick. I chose to machine the vent a bit so I didn't have to worry about scuffing the shield. I made the mounting part of the vent thinner. Frank
  2. The 1500 vent I used was pretty close to the curve of the venture shield. The curve of it wasn't the issue at all. Frank
  3. The helmet was shipped FedEx, sadly the darn thing doesn't fit! So now w need to test the return policy. So disappointed! Frank
  4. Just to be clear... mine came from Sabercycle and I was extremely pleased with the shipping, part and price. Was here in 2 days. The 1500 vent fits well as far as curve but did require some extra work due to windshield thickness.I thinned the vent NOT the windshield. Frank
  5. We used soft ties around the fork tubes.... on top of the lower clamp. Was a pain to get them just right but it didn't budge. Used 6 straps total.2 on forks 2 on frame under drivers seat and 2 (lightly) under bags just to keep the tail from wagging. Best of luck, Frank
  6. So we ordered a helmet from http://www.bikersden.com on the 18th. We've been trying to find a helmet that will fit my egg head. We went with them cause it was supposed to be in stock and they had a good return policy. The website said 1-3 days shipping. On the 3rd day we noticed the order said processed and we still didn't have a tracking #. We emailed and they said orders can take up to 4 days to process and that when it did we would get a tracking #. If we log in from work it shows my name on the order, if we log in at home it doesn't show the order at all. Today after no word I decided to call and was told there was an attempted delivery today. If we had known the damn thing was coming we would have been around to get it. Irritates me that companies have all of this tech at their disposal and still manage to screw it up. We don't care about the timing, we care about not having the info promised. We ordered headsets from http://www.wingstuff.com the following day as well as eBay items that have all arrived. I think they are actually doing drop shipping, which again is fine. Just TELL the customer what is going on. Full review pending on the helmet if it fits! Frank
  7. My girlfriend works in public roads.... Roundabouts will soon be everywhere. They make sense too bad most don't use sense when using them here in Nebraska. They are really popular in neighborhoods to slow down traffic. Although sometimes you will see one that the tracks go straight thru...haha
  8. Funny thing is...in my job the horn wire is always the biggest pain to find and then afterwords you are always like damn why didn't I see that sooner! Frank
  9. The wire you are looking for will be BLACK. You can grab it in the column or you can go to @ BCM, PIN B2, PINK 24-PIN PLUG THE BCM (Body Control Module) IS IN THE CENTER OF THE DASH BEHIND THE POCKET. There are note on our company website that add "The horn wire is located in a harness entering into the center console next to a heater duct" "Left of steering column in solid loom" Hope that helps and do be careful in there Frank
  10. I have been dealing with a bulging disc for years L1S5. Had lousy results with injections. Rehab didn't seem to help much. Chiropractic has been pretty good at keeping it manageable for me. I just never could find anyone that liked the results from surgery (fusing or disc surgery). So for now I choose to live with it. Hope it goes better for you. Frank
  11. I just did a GW vent in mine. There's an ebay seller that has the for 29.00 and cheap shipping. the hole cutting wasn't too bad but had to mod the vent mounting thickness a bit too. The round vents look way easier. Frank
  12. Funny cause Omaha isn't far and I have a brand new untouched helmet on the way
  13. We have been watching the weather non stop for weeks... we have been averaging only a day or so a week that is decent for a ride(keep in mind I am more of a fair weather rider). Been talking with Rick Butler about getting his mod done to my seat. Checked the weather and rain all week but Weds. So I tear out of work early and get it shipped today. After I got home and goofed off a bit I pull up the weather and BAM no rain on the forecast all week! High of 72 on Fri. DOH!!! Story of my life! Now I'm wishing for rain..haha Frank
  14. That looks great....wish I had co-workers like that. Hell I wish I had co-workers Frank
  15. For me I have a different take on the local "biker" scene. My ex thought that was her family so I got to witness a lot of poker runs from behind the scene. Every other one it seems has a rider go down. It seems to be a mixture of alcohol and stupidity. Funny how the crash stories all seem to start with leaving the bar? Don't get me wrong I have more than my fair share of stupid but I try to leave the alcohol behind. I didn't drink a lot but since I am now paid to install breathalyzers when people get them court ordered after a DUI I drink even less. The stories and the anger these people have is mind blowing. For most of them it's everyone's fault but their own. Now don't get the wrong idea. Some people make an honest mistake. They address it and get thru it. So for me I will steer clear of the poker runs. At least in my area. Even if I don't drink there are enough that do to ruin it. Glad the person who went down will be ok and that nobody else was involved. Frank
  16. If you are on a windows pc google "photo resize power toy" then resizing is a right mouse click and easy. Been using it forever. Glad you got to ride. Hope to see the pics Frank
  17. I haven't actually picked out a gps yet. So I will have to figure out what it has. Good to know you can do a custom cable. Thanks Frank
  18. So is that black cable cast in? or can it be replaced? Thanks for the pic! Makes it easier to explain to the accountant.. :-) Frank
  19. Today was a productive day! Got the J&M Headsets put in both helmets and the GW vent in my stock windshield. The headsets were a breeze. The vent not so much! It wasn't making the hole that was a problem it was getting the vent to fit. Had to thin down the mounting surface a bit to make it work. It's a bit scary to chop a hole in the windshield but my girl was all ready to order the F4 if I screwed up. So either we were going to have a vent! As for the headsets...Holy Smokes!! Why didn't we do this sooner? My girl was giggling the whole time cause we could actually talk. NO MORE HAND SIGNALS! Got a bit of wind moise but we were running with out any windsock so I hope that will improve with some tweaking. If not we will have to invest in Mic-mutes. I really just wish there was a quicker way to get to comm volume. That would make it much easier to use. But all and all we are happy with todays projects. So what do I get to tinker with next? Frank
  20. Love the theme!! Lots of work there and it seems to be paying off. Frank
  21. Sounds like a lucky and happy dog! But no picture? Frank
  22. I have seen the Vmax stator melt the plastic from around the connector. I would'nt just solder to replace the factory connector but damn sure I would keep an eye on it. As for my I was ASE master certified car and truck for a number of years and it doesn't mean ****. I constantly learn new views and new takes on all kinds of repairs. My .02 cents. Frank
  23. Has anyone bought and installed the J&M audio bluetooth setup? I really would like to check this setup out but its like a unicorn. If it worked well I could maybe talk the boss into it. But at a cost of 600.00 or so with both parts there is huge jumping the shark potential! No dealers here in Nebraska and hell if I can find anyone online who even mentions it and how it works. Thanks in advance Frank
  24. Anyone have a picture of the BuddyRich cable? I am wondering how long it is? From what I understand it can be plugged in line between the headset if I wanted to switch it from passenger to driver? I read the install posts but no real overview of the cord. Does it seem like it would stand up to the weather? Thanks Frank
  25. Ordered a set of these as well... can't wait to try them out! Frank
