  1. I have a Plastex kit on the way to repair a tab on my windshield trim. I hope it works... the stuff I have seen looks great! This looks like superglue... not too sure about the repair guy that glues up an HVAC O-ring cause it's late on Fri.
  2. Considering what we pay in auto taxes and gas taxes you figure they could spare some for the parks. My truck is 94.00 wheel tax. I forget what the bike was. but the truck is an 03 and still costing close to 300 a year to plate it. Thanks Nebraska "The Good Life" Frank
  3. Crap like this is why I hate Ebay anymore. I would rather give away an item. By the time you take the hit on fees it's not worth selling on there. And buying gets you treatment like you just had. Good luck sourcing your parts Frank
  4. I tore mine apart, what a pain in the rear. I didn't see that it could fit. I also couldn't seem to fit it in the fairing as others have. So I would like to hear about this as well. Pictures would be even better! I have the one mounted on the side(in black). I am not into the bling, but love the noise. Was the first thing swapped from my Vmax to the Venture. Frank
  5. Ok front forks have been slid up an inch and looks like I just got lowering links and the caliper bracket handled. So the other piece to the puzzle is a shortened side stand. When I did this to my Vmax I had access to a welder and did it myself. No access this time and bike jack wont fit Venture. So I was hoping to buy one, anyone providing this service? Thanks Frank Edit: Looks like some Royal Star bikes had a shorter stand. 2006-? a source for one of these would work too if anyone can confirm. Ebay was a bust.
  6. Amazing write up... I have always been more of a candy ass distance rider. But the new Venture and this article have me thinking I want to try it too. Thanks! Frank
  7. On the weekend of August 27-28 some Vmax friends(Vmoa members) and I will be meeting in Topeka for a dyno day. This is the 7th or 8th year for this gathering. Since this will be the first year with the Venture I thought I would invite anyone that would like to meet up and say hi. We usually have a few "other" bikes and almost everyone dynos. We usually take up a collection for the Dyno operator and for The Morley Family that takes care of lunch. A great group of people that I enjoy meeting up with every year. The event takes place at the Topeka HD shop. Usually we are the only ones there. Lots of noise, hanging out and tuning going on. This year there is a ride planned further south on Sat to hit up a car/bike show. Would keep anyone posted that may be interested. Frank
  8. Marks pipes are fantastic. My Vmax went thru several exhaust systems and none of them had the crossover. My buddy that did my carb work always laughed when he synced it because it took like 3 seconds. That bike dynoed over 130hp (132.45 in 09) so I don't think the power was hurt at all. Might lose a tad bit of torque but the bike has gobs to spare. Those pipes will be hard for normal exhaust guys to make with a bender (I know did that for 10 years.) adding the crossover makes it even harder. Best of luck with the repair Frank
  9. I'm low carbing so that sounds amazing! I can't argue though...down 25lbs so far
  10. The Vmax levers cost so much I just bought aftermarket masters for mine... one was R1(Brake) the Clutch was a universal nissan part. Prob not the look for a Venture though. Would like to see what you find. Frank
  11. Sorry bryan52577! My solution is to take the iPad in with me....haha Apple iPad...best crapper device ever made
  12. star4772 they are yours...DM your shipping addy Frank
  13. What are they going for? Shipping to 68522 Thanks Frank
  14. I think I have my stock Vmax turn signals around and they had visors too. So I might hav another pair if anyone wants them.
  15. Haha not selling... you can have them for the cost of shipping. PM me your details... will be a day or 2 before I ship them. Will let you know the cost. Frank
  16. My 2008 came with visors on the headlight and the turnsignals/driving lights. I never have liked the look. Was the first thing I changed. Anyone want a set to put to use? I don't want to sell, just a thanks for the answers received already. Frank
  17. I sure would like lowering links if you decide to sell them. Frank
  18. Its one of the end tabs. I haven't busted out the glue yet figured I would wait till I know I am done in the fairing. I just cant get over the design. Not sure how I would do velcro in there? got a pic of that? My concern with glue is I don't want hassle over the bolts missing from the bracket under there. It has a zip tie like 2 other posts I found on here. Not sure how the end tab got broken but the guy did a crap job at trying to repair it. Thanks for the advice Frank
  19. Ok first the good...built my bracket and harness for the stebel airhorn. Works great and since I had it and the aluminum stock laying around it cost zero dollars. Now the BAD. I attacked the job of splitting the fairing yesterday to find the previous owner had glued the chrome windshield mole on because one of the end tabs was broken. I see no choice but to buy it and it looks like 140 bucks or so! crappy design! Also I see that my windshield retaining strip like some others on here was assembled and the 2 center bolts left out. It's under warranty but with the broken chrome I am sure this will somehow be my fault. The whole thing makes me sick... anyone ever have to have stuff like that handled under warranty? It also looks like there may be some seeping around the rear diff mounting flange. On the plus side... we did go for a 120 mile ride today... I was staring at the tape holding the chrome on the whole time :-( Frank
  20. Thanks for this offer BTW! I have been on the Vmax forums for years but being new around here I didn't want to impose. I figured I couldn't go too wrong with a bike that only had a hair over 1000 miles on it. Although I am a little surprised to see some of the mods done already. I have only rode it about 25 miles so far but see a lot of comfort and questions in my future. Thanks all for the advice I have gotten already!! Got nylon wing nuts for the seat and got the visors off the front turn signals and passing lights. Got my skull from the Vmax modded onto the key. Also got the highway pegs mounted. Next up is an led brake light bar and get the air horn mounted. I think I'm going to go with it in the fairing so I can take the headlight visor off while I am in there. Thanks again all, Frank
  21. Sorry for no pic yet...I was out of it and on the ipad so would have been a pain in the ass. Here is one that shows the whole bike. sorry about that ugly **** on the seat..lol
  22. Just got home after logging around 1000 miles today. The 2008 RSV is in the garage safe and sound thanks to a uhaul trailer and an understanding GF. So I got a 2008 RSV (S?) with 1059 miles for 10,900(warranty till 8/2014) Has HD mufflers, the extra light bar/driving lights. The tape deck has been replaced with a lined box, not sure how I feel about that. A light scratch on the headlight chrome trim and an odd spot on the front fender trim. A great experience dealing with ACES.... Provided I get the paperwork on time they get 5 stars from me. So now I need a tape deck and a replacement seat hold down nut(only had one) Pretty stoked and damn tired. BTW the Uhaul trailer with the chock built in worked sweet, could barely tell it was back there and built like a Sherman tank! Night all Frank
  23. My girl just bought some Doc Martens that she loves...retail was 120+ and she got them for about 70. Have always been great boots for me. Frank
  24. Hmmm didn't know that...thanks for the info. Next year I hope to add a new Vmax to the garage... I think I will live till then. Frank
  25. Haha there has been talk of a venture bottom end with a Vmax top end. My Vmax dynoed over 134hp multiple years(was built on a good day?). The passing power/radials/killer brakes/sound will be missed. The seat and ride will not. Frank
