I don't know a thing about this Rick, but that's fantastic news and I'm sure you're thrilled. Wishing you continued success with it.

http://www.leatherup.com/p/Xelement-Biker-Boots/Xelement-Advanced-Dual-Strap-Leather-Boots-with-Vibram-Soles/97546.html Haven't tried those, but I do own these. I've worn a few different pairs of boots over the years and these rank the top of my list for all day comfort, riding and walking. The velcro straps on the back make for easy on/easy off wear. A really nice, reasonably priced boot.

Maybe the sports pumps are different than what I tried. I've never found one that has the check valve built in. When you're dealing with such low pressure on the front forks, I found it impossible to remove a cheap sports pump without removing whatever air I had just put in the shocks.

http://www.saber-cycle.com/store/product790.html I chose the mercury stick route. Just bought this one a couple weeks ago. Mounted it on a 2 x 4 with a base. I had major backfiring and popping on heavy deceleration. My first sync all but eliminated it.

Interesting kinda anyway. First thing I noticed was the whales reflection in the water,,,but not the kayakers.

Hope everyone had a great Holiday. 06 RSTD, I swapped out the stock headlight bulb with the Silverstar H4, same wattage. Nice. THEN, I just swapped the passing lamp bulbs with silverstar H3's. I know they're 55 watt vs the 35 watt originals. I run no other accessories on the bike. Should the additional 40 watts of power be of any concern? My DC electrical math is not working anymore!

Happy Thanksgiving, Turkeys!

I run Amsoil 20/50. Why? When I purchased the bike used with a little over 9K on it, the previous owner had 3 quarts unopened in the saddlebag. He'd run it since the 1K change. If he hadn't, I'd be running Mobil 1. Why? No research involved. I simply like the synthetic appeal.

Interesting. This article says DO get the orange, not the green.

Nice. Got your road surface ratio and pilot//co pilot ratio, what psi do you run them? I just replaced the OEM bridgestones with Avons. Looked at the Metzlers though, as well as the Dunlop Elites.

Got brand new Avon Venoms on mine replacing the OEM bridgestones. Haven't even rode it yet. Learned quite a bit about the bike removing the 2 wheels. Took them to the dealer for mounting/balancing, brought them back home and had everything back together Wed night. Plan to ride after work, change the oil and diff and head out for a 2 day ride to Arkansas. Come join! Upper 40's to 50 for lows and 70's for the highs. Ride safe Our gun deer season opens this weekend too..............yikes

I'm about the same height/weight as you. What's your riding style? My riding is primarily 2 up all the time. My last bike was a late 80's model V twin Honda. We purchased a 06 Tour Deluxe used. LOVE the bike. Like some others, had I been around bikes much the past 20 years, I'd have probably searched for a RSV, based on our style of riding. We're not short trip, run around town riders. When we leave the house, we know we'll be riding 300-500 miles typically. That said, the fairing, trunk, etc would be a big bonus for us. With our children grown and gone, I have plans to keep the RSTD and because of our riding style, hope to add a gold wing to the mix. Just passed the 12K mark on the odometer. Not a single issue with the bike. I took a day off yesterday while my wife did not. I removed the backrest and took off. It's rare I ride alone. I LOVE this bike solo. Very enjoyable.

THat's fantastic. I've got a 06 RSTD also. Warranty till August of next year. You've given me the inspiration to head to my dealer and give this a shot. I actually talked to the service mgr where I bought it at an unrelated social event. Consignment bike but at the Yamaha dealer near my house where it was orginally sold. He commented it wouldn't hurt to come by and let his guys look at it. Think I shall now. Thanks

No Problem. Dave's original "how to" post led me to that product. (Thanks Dave) I'll admit I got confused following his instructions, lol, but I found the included ones sufficient for most DYIer's. The wife is thrilled with the added lighting. We also wired the double LED license plate frame from custom dynamics as a running/brake light too. We're difficult NOT to see now. http://www.customdynamics.com/dualbar_license.htm Item #: 02028 I'm embarrassed to admit the amount of time we spent in a dark garage that night, squeezing the brakes, admiring the finished job!

http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?Category_ID=48&manufacturer_ID=223&product_ID=6421&model_ID=1 Are you just wanting to add more rear light? I installed this kit and love it. Rear running lights and brake lights in my turn signals now. Original amber turn signals remain intact.
