Anybody from the Atlanta area or the state of Ga. planning on going to Dons for Maintaince Day? I am going and looking for someone to make this long ride with. My plans for leaving and return are sort of open right now, so just respond to this thread or pm me and we can see about joining up and making this long ride a little more pleasant for us........ Its drawing near and I am getting excited..............

Got you.................no pic here............ Now lets be reasonable folks, first off, Bobbie and George had a fairly long ride to get home, second, if you know how many pictures Bobbie takes, it takes them some time to sort through them and then download them to Photobucket, remember, Bobbie is taking picture the whole time, I think she sees more through the camera lens the whole time............so give her a little time. When I know Bobbie is there, I dont even take my camera cause I know Bobbie is going to do a good job taking pics................. I think Bobbie needs a new title, Offical Photographer of Venturerider............

Where that old saying came from...........He's got a bee in his bonnet...........He, the bee, didnt like it nearly as much as I didnt like it............man, I am glad it was just a small bee, it did sting me, but thank God I am not allergic to bee stings............ And just a little note, I figured my gas mileage for the trip, and having that new fairing on the V Star, my mileage improved from an average of 41-42 mpg, to a mind blowing average of 52 mpg..............I figured it twice and thats what it was..........That big windshield that was on there did a great job of blocking the wind, but it was murder on the gas mileage...........

Just got back in logged about 380 miles round trip for this ride, we had between 18 & 19 bikes, just depends on when and who counted them...........Met some new folks, lots of old friends, food was good as usual, we had a little rain and had to break out the rain gear about 15 miles out from our lunch stop, but after that no rain rest of the day. Looking forward to seeing the pics by Bobbie and the others that took them. Hats off to 86er and Blackjack, they did their usual awesome job putting this thing together.

I own an 83 and I havent sunk any money into it other than tires and regular maintainence, the 2nd gear will happen to all 83's, normally around 65k but mine didnt show until almost 80k..........still havent fixed it, it will stay in 2nd gear unless I get on it hard, it will get fixed soon, we have some very capable people here that really knokw their stuff about these bikes, and hopefully you might be clsoe to one........ The 83 is the best of the 1st Gens............

But Im gonna pay anyway...........:mo money:

My Harley's New Garage Bud
DragonRider replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I can see that Harley sitting more and more and gathering a lot of dust just like you new bike did.............your gonna love that 1st Gen so much, you arent going to want to ride that hog anymore, might as well put it up on Ebay or Craigslist and be done with it..........then you will have room for that second 1st Gen as a backup bike, not that you will ever need it. Congrats on the new ride, it sure is pretty.........your gonna love it. Seafoam should do the trick.............. -
Just hope everybody around me is VR............that was the idea, get away from the ranger quarters.....................RUREADY TO PARTEE????????????
-
I got my cabin at Vogel.............not much left to pick from, seems everything is booked, either a lot of people have made reservations or something else is going on. For a while, I thought I wasnt going to get one...............that would have sucked....... So DragonRider, DragonLady, Wingman, and his bride will be in cabin 28 up on the hill overlooking the lake............. Party time..........big deck overlooking the lake..........cant wait. And no rangers across the street.........

Quadzilla Fairing
DragonRider replied to rdhc's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The fairing from SS custom is the Memphis Shades, I bought one and installed it on my V Star 1300. I made my own brackets, cause I didnt have the extra 200.00 to buy their quick disconnect mounts.......I dont plan on taking mine on and off anyway......Its well made, but no mounting area for radio or such, but I already have my cb, sirius, and fm mounted to the handlebars so didnt need that............Here is a pic of it, I will be taking better ones and posting them in my gallery, the ones there arent the best.
