  1. Don, you do what you have to do, this place can run on automatic for a while, and you have selected great moderators that can handle this bunch almost as well as you do.......... Now you put everything on the back burner for however long it takes and concentrate on you and your family, nothing is more important than getting you healthy. We are here for you, if you want to vent, call anytime day or nite my phone is always on....... Just as a sidenote, Paula who is married to Jamie (Wingman) has one eye and does everything anyone else can do and it doesnt slow her down one bit, she rides her bike whenever she has the time, Im sure if you wanted some input she would be glad to talk to you about it. We are keeping you in our prayers for good reports from the new doctors........... God Bless Lewis & Charlene
  2. With my VStar for a Harley, in fact I had a Harley owner tell me that he thought my 1300 was quite the hot rod, he bought one for his father in law and rode it from Fla. to Ga. and said it was a much better ride than his Road Glide and had much more power........so go figure............but for a sportster or any Harley........NEVER!!!!
  3. Since I have 2 bikes insured with them, I will start shopping for another insurance co, dont want to go through what your brother went through, seeing as how I live in Ga. also. Anyone want to reccomend a good reasonable co.
  4. I check on some things and get back to you, Let me know when you do your warmup ride, if its on a weekend I might join you if you want company.........sound interesting.
  5. Eddie, put me down for one, to go with the one on my vest, got to have one for my jacket........ Thanks....
  6. Just contact Steve by pm or here and I am sure he would send you a set of instructions on installation, Steve is top notch and would be glad to assist......He makes a great product..........
  7. Dan, maybe somebody from your area can swing by and pick you up and you can ride B..ch:rotfl: I see another bike in you future, I see a nice 1st Gen waiting for you someplace..... Congrats to the both of you on your new jobs..:clap2:
  8. This is getting near to the end of the St. Jude Crusin shirts...........Dont miss out on getting one.
  9. Yep, I heard all of that comotion between Wingman and Swifty and LA and Snarley, but thats all, couldnt see them from where I was but the Wing took the 1st Gen and the 1st Gen took the RSTD. The 83 definitely are the faster of all the Ventures, hands down, but I may be a little biased about that...........
  10. I know you well enuff to know you wouldnt insult me like some of them other 2nd gen owners.............seeing as I do believe you had a V Star in your stable. Been a while since we have seen each other, we need to put together a Newnan M&E and ride. Got any open weekends on your calander, mine are all open except for the weekend that Todd is putting together, and thats sometime in April.
  11. I have lost some of my set goal, but not all, but thats not bad because the penalty money is for a good cause, but I might still make it, I have time............. Minnie if you lose any more weight, we are going to have to put an anchor on you when there is a breeze blowing.......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  12. A copy of the latest bank statement will do for me............:mo money: But I doubt there is much left after Jeff has finished ordering all his parts...........
  13. Hmmmmm seems I heard the same thing somewhere............ DragonRider Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Newnan View Photos By: DragonRider Another solution.............. I have had this happen to me since I leave for work at 5:30 in the morning, there is one light I turn at that doesnt detect my presence. What I do and I cant remember where I read this is, I stop over the location of the sensor, I kill the engine and then restart it, what this does is set up an electro-magnetic field and that is sensed by the sensor, and the light changes for me on the next cycle.......works everytime I do it, so as soon as I am stopped at this light I kill the engine and restart it...........no more waiting for the light or sitting thru several cycles..
  14. Find you a set or Harley Road King mufflers, they sound good and are easy to come by, you will have to fabricate a connector pipe and hanger, but its not hard, I did it to mine...........
  15. Your never to old, the fact is my motorcycles help me feel younger than I am, and the fact that the wife lets me also helps...........
  16. Yep I realized that after I posted it, they had all the pics mixed up in their gallery, but it still gives a good representataion of what their sheild looks like. This one doesnt have a spot for a raido in it but it is lined with textured ABS plastic, so its not just a fairing with nothing behind it...........I will mount my small amp, portable cb radio and sat. radio on it. It comes glossy black, so I wont have to paint it to match the bike..........Its about time I sarted making some drastic changes to the V Star. The only problem I might have is mounting brackets, nobody makes a quick disconnect kit for it for the 1300, so I will be fabbing my own. Dont worry pics will be posted before and after the conversion. On the VStar Forum some have already done this and say the handling is the same but the buffetting and wind noise is gone. We shall see. I found a really good pic of a 1300 with the fairing painted to match the bike and with hard bags instead of the leather covered like I have.............WOW.
  17. :rotfl: Not sure what to make of it....................
  18. Your welcome boss, :hurts:I try to make myself useful every once and awhile............
  19. I have had this happen to me since I leave for work at 5:30 in the morning, there is one light I turn at that doesnt detect my presence. 20. Avons, no doubt about it...........:dancefool: Got them on both my bikes, no other tire for me.....:cool10:
  21. Don after I posted I went back and clicked on the blue highlighted in the error message and it took me right to it........maybe that will help you.
  22. When I click on the banner for Motorcycle Superstore I get this error message............ Not Found The requested URL /
  23. Now just put the Venture fairing on it and you got the 3rd Gen Venture............Yamaha take a hint.........build this bike. By the way dont try this at home.............. These pics are great, but you need to read what they went thru to build this awesome machine..............
  24. No, I didnt buy a 2nd gen, cant afford one, I didnt sell my 1st Gen, never ever, still have the VStar, but I went an ordered a Batwing fairing for my V Star. Looking forward to getting it mounted, they do look pretty good on it, I attached a couple of pics of a couple of Vstars with them installed, I am getting the 7 inch black faded windshield and black lower deflectors.
  25. Some of you noting there isnt much happening in your area ought to take the bull by the horns and put one together, I did that back in 2005 with a little get together in a state park about 140 miles from where I live and I only had 77 bikes from 17 states and Canada show up...........Today that meet and eat is now known as. The Tail of the Dragon Venture In @ Vogel State Park. It happens every August, with the exception of 2008, and it just keeps getting better and better..........so dont worry about how many show up, like someone once said. "Build it and they will come" :Venture: And believe me they will come, to date the total attendance at the past Vogels is over 250 bikes with some even coming in their cages.........That first Vogel was a 1 1/2 day event, now its goes from Wed. till Sunday. But dont worry about how many you have, whether it be 2-3 bikes or hundreds of bikes you will have a great time meeting all the great members of this website.
