I ran into a bunch of these great people at a local Vets run. What a great group! These guys do not mess around. They mean business, and get the job done. I'll be signing with them at the next run in Lake Elizabeth.

I've washed mine several times after it gets matted down in the wash machine useing cold water and a mild hand soap. After washing, I just shake it and hang it up to dry.

Change them at the recommended intervals. I believe that you'll notice a difference. I use the NGK plugs and have had no issues with em.

Wow, I used to know some that did that, a tree up in the mountains, had a helmit on, but only doing 50 or so, died instantly. Another, drunk, no helmit, head first into a semi at about 70, died instantly. My brother used to be head of special procedures at the AV hospital, he won't ride a motorcycle, and thinks that anyone who does is a fool. He calls me a fool everytime I see him. It gets kinda old.

If the government keeps regulating to protect us, here is your next bike. The next step will be to outlaw bikes! No thank you! http://thekneeslider.com/images/motorcyclerollcage.jpg

I really would'nt say it was the type of helmet that kills, but the lady that turned in front of the biker, or the deer that ran in front of him, or the tire that that failed to grip in the rain. I'm sure we all have had friends die on bikes, wearing helmets or not.

I ran Metzler's on my Venture and have had no issues with them. The rear tire lasted about 10,000 miles, the most I ever got on the Venture. I'm still running the Metzler on the front, but I did switch to a BF Goodrich tire on the back. All of the big touring bikes here run Metzler's, and I have heard of nothing bad about them locally.

I hate gravel!

I'm not trying to stir the pot, but there are some using a car tire, Dunlop Sport5000, 195/60/16 tire, run at 32 or 34 lbs. of pressure. Just a suggestion.

Those wide white walls are the *****. Totally awesome!!! You won't find many like that on a bike, maybe on a old coupe or deuce.

There are folks riding car tires on both ends. I bought my Metzler front tire before I bought my rear tire, At the time I was more concerned with the mileage I was getting on the rear tire. I'm getting twice the mileage on the front tire as I was with the rear. My next front tire will probably be a radial tire, if I can get good mileage from it.

I've run low pressure on the bias ply, but this is the 1st radial tire I have tried on a bike. I ride 2up on the Venture, so the lowest I've had the pressure is 32 #. I'm more comfortable with 35 # as the load rating is above 1000 lbs, and we are not what you would call small. Even at 35 # Robin says the ride is much smoother than with the motorcycle tire.

HOLLY COW!!! I haven't had a bike do that in years, I can't even imagine doing it with a bike as heavy as a Venture! I raced some flat track back in the 70's, but that was with modified Triumphs. Even with my newer Triumphs, in the twisties, I don't spin my tire. Of course, my Triumph today weighs more and dosen't have the horsepower or torque of my older ones. You gotta be one aggressive rider! I would bet you could give Yellow Wolf a run for it on the Dragon.

Hey flb_78, I put about 300 miles on my tire before it was broke in. But those are 2up miles. I'm running 35# psi in my TA Radial with both Robin and I, with full saddle bags. What do you run 1up?
-
OB-1, What are you going to do with the tire? Like I mentioned earlier, you might want to offer it for sale as a used tire to someone interested in the darkside, but not financially in a position to experiment with a new tire.
-
"Also, I was not able to accurately predict when the rear end would kick out when pushing the bike into a curve" I don't understand what you mean. Are you impling that the rear tire slides out from under you in a lowside skid?
-
Cool! Let us know how it rides. I'm riding the BF Goodrich TA Radial 155/80-15, running 35# psi, 2up, and am very happy with it. I'd be interested in the clearance between that tire and the driveshaft cover.

I'm riding with Indians and Harleys and we fill up at the same time. If we stay legal and ain't headed into wind we use the same amount of gas and we will average 45 to 50 mpg. I ride 2 up. Of course, our odometers are probably off the same amount, as well as the speedometers. All of the bikes have carbs. 1 honda, fuel injected rode with us and got less mileage. Go figure...Above 75 mph, all bets are off! The Harleys win.

I am sorry you were seduced to the darkside by us and were not happy with the performance of the tire. It's not for everybody. Have you thought of selling the tire? There might be someone here looking to try one out, and it would be nice to have a opportunity to try one without having the expense of a new tire.
-
Oh, that's so sad, I'm sorry for you. I'd like to help you, but, you're so far away...

Turn your music down, or take the phone from your ear! :-)

Since I started riding at legal speeds I am getting 50 miles per gallon! Thats also riding 2 up on my 2nd gen Venture. I'm loving it!
