  1. Got it. I used a torch to heat the bolt, and a new torx. Only had to drill out 1 bolt, the one I butchered up trying to break loose without the heat. I'm going to replace all of the bolts, so where is the best place to purchase them?
  2. Check the ground connection on the battery. It happened to me, stopped for coffee, and when I hit the start, everything went away.
  3. Thanks everyone. I'm now looking for a 1/2 drive # 40 torx socket. I checked the shops here, but there are none to be had. I'll be heading for the big city this weekend.
  4. I don't have access to a air gun, and I now need to buy a new torx socket. I just butchered the only two I had. I had not thought about using liquid wrench. Tomorrow is another day. Thanks!
  5. I'm trying to break loose the torx, front wheel, but so far no luck. I don't think adding heat will help, but any advise would be appreciated. I tried a drift punch to the center of the trox, but all it did was laugh at me.
  6. That is the best looking BMW I've seen yet.
  7. I'am wishing you the best from California.
  8. I'm not sure how much of a angle before we hit hard parts, but in a sweeping turn the suspension will be compressed even more. When I grind the floor boards I just slow down. They are expensive.
  9. I'm on my 3rd TA Radial tire and 28 psi suites me fine, after I break in the tire for about 5oo miles at 34 psi. But, please understand, I very seldom ride above 90 MPH, which might be the reason I've never had a wobble on this tire.
  10. I also agree. All to soon, riding a motorcycle will be against the law. The general public sees this as a very dangerous sport. It begins as a mandatory helmet law, than body armor, flashing head lights, then who knows, it's just to costly to the government to continue to allow bikes on public roads. I can also see it happening to 4 wheel autos, taking all control away from the occupants.
  11. I've been using it for several years now. I've had no issues with the clutch. I ride this bike 2 up, but no trailer. As for the other, I have no idea what you're saying. What is guilt rage?
  12. Last Tuesday Robin and I pulled into Laughlin wearing cooling vests. When we got to the bar at the Edgewater, the bartender told us it was 120 degrees. The vests helped us deal with the heat.
  13. I have not lost that loving feeling. It's what keeping me young!
  14. This tire is my 3rd BFG. I ordered it about a year ago at the local tire shop. Free mounting!
  15. I have been running a BFG for a while and the max I use is 30 psi two up. When I'm solo I like 28 pounds.
  16. I've even used it on spark-plugs. It keeps the ceramic from bonding to the plug wire. At least it makes it easier to remove.
  17. Quick question, how do you keep the dielectric grease off of the pins or sockets? For many years I have just squirted it on the connectors. Will it damage them?
  18. If there was a tree near by, we would use a come-along on the older Harley's. I don't know if this would work with the newer bikes, but, at that time, we all had tall sissy bars.
