  1. Definitely the ram x mount. I've been using it for several years and no issues Sent from my motorola one using Tapatalk
  2. I can see the logic in that decision Sent from my motorola one using Tapatalk
  3. Just put on my new plate. Sent from my motorola one using Tapatalk
  4. Yes, I think they stick out more than 1 inch. I lowered them an inch from the original position. I do not have any clearance problems even when bottoming out the shocks. Sent from my motorola one using Tapatalk
  5. Well as it appears we're both right or wrong, however you look at it. Here are some pictures of my setup. One thing I forgot to mention is that I do have the handlebar risers on there that bring the handlebars out of the way for the clearance.I didn't have to reroute the cabling or the hydraulics. There's plenty of extra slack in there if you just pull it up out of the way. Sent from my motorola one using Tapatalk
  6. I will photograph today and post for you.
  7. I've been following that guy for over five years and I can attest that although he is similar, he is definitely not a "PUC" This guy is the only PUC! https://youtu.be/sqG86osAGMU
  8. The tubes on my RSV are exactly 1 inch higher than tree with no clearance problem. Sent from my motorola one using Tapatalk
  9. Doing great. Having sold the blonde 83 last year I've been riding an 04 midnight venture and loving it. I don't check in to the forum very often but I do keep track of what's going on. Always a great source of information and a great bunch of guys and gals.
  10. And thank you too Puc. Just like Bongo you too offered up the parts for free. Something I will never forget and will continue to pay forward with gratitude. Have fun out there!
  11. Let me tell you about Bongo. Of course to those who knew him this is no surprise. About three years ago, I crashed my 83 when a deer jumped out in from of me. The bike skidded down the roadway and the left side of the fairing was toast along with some other parts. I had posted about the crash here and a forum member suggested that I put up a parts list of the stuff I needed as many members had parts bike laying around. I did, and much to my surprise about three days later I received two boxes from the UPS guy, one with the left fairing complete with the turn signal in nearly perfect condition. It was from Bongo. The other was from Puc. Between the two of them I had all the parts I needed for the repair. When I contacted Bongo I asked what I owed him and he said zero. He wouldn't even take money for the shipping that was nearly $40 bucks. That's the way he was, a true gentleman. I did covertly send him the shipping cost via PayPal and also sent a nice sampler of smoked meats as a thank you, knowing that I could never repay his gratitude. May you rest in peace Bongo. You will surely be missed. This is a fine example of the folks you find here on this forum. May peace be with his family and friends. Have fun out there!
  12. Not for me but thanks for the offer! Have fun out there!
  13. Anybody out there have a new Venture Rider guardian bell they would like to sell? I contacted Don and he is still looking for his misplaced supply. Have fun out there!
  14. Yes. I made the horn/light brakets out of aluminum and then just polished them out. For the headlight, I used as much of the original bracket as possible so I could still use the dash height adjustment knob. All the headlight required was a spacer block underneath attached to the bottom part of the stock bracket.
