  1. Give us the name of the Thief! As it stands now, I will not buy from anyone posting in the classifieds! Its the old saying, 1 bad apple... Leonard
  2. I had heard that if you take a reading of the tire pressure before you ride, then check the pressure after the tires have been completely warmed up, the pressure should not be over 4 to 5 lbs higher. If the tire is over this, the pressure is too low, causing the tire to overheat. The pressure needs to be increased. Leonard
  3. Hey guys, wait a minute. I didn't take these pictures! My camera dosen't work this good. I got them from the chapter president of the Bakersfield Star Touring club. I have no idea where he got them. I just wanted to share em with you guys!!! Leonard
  4. These are some great shots! Check out the video after the last picture. http://home.comcast.net/~bzee1a/ Leonard
  5. Metzler's website recommends 49 for the rear tire. I've been running this 1 and 2 up with no problems, and the tire is looking good with 5000 miles on it. It may make it thru the winter!!! Sure beats changing tires three times a year! Leonard
  6. I'm really thinking its one of the best "new" choppers I've seen. Most of them showen with a rider on em look rather odd, but the picture shown with a rider don't look bad at all. I think its that big tank he sits behind that does it.
  7. I found this on a website about hypoid gears; Because of the sliding contact that hypoid gears make, their hydrodynamic contact pressure is higher. To be suitable for use with hypoid gears, a lubricant must be capable of resisting high pressures. Oils with "EP" ratings (Extreme Pressure) such as EP90 are required. Some brands describe themselves as "hypoid" instead, a term which is synonymous with EP. GL-5 is a formal API standard for this type of oil. Leonard
  8. Ouch! That can't leave much time to eat. Leonard
  9. For a M&E, 300 mile round trip. That would leave some time for the eats! Leonard
  10. How come you won't mention the name? Leonard
  11. What kind of hero's do kids have today. Look at what they see at the movies, what kind of music and words they hear. Their 'heros' are theives, gangster rappers, all of the celebrity's that have been seen on TV. Who's been making the bucks on these people. Who's fault is all of this idol worship gone wrong? It's not like the heros we had when we were kids. The Skykings, Lone Rangers, Father Knows Best, they're all long gone. Leonard
  12. It's the same in California. A buddy of mine pissed behind a abandoned gas station. They thru the book at him, and he had to go thru counseling. He was still considered a prevert! Leonard
  13. Hey! Thanks for that site. I did like you said and it downloaded. I've cleaned up a bunch of crap! Leonard
  14. I've been pluging tires since they came out with cast wheels. Never had a problem with any of tires, both front and back. Before they had bike specific plugs, we just used the string and goop used on auto tires. I just used up the last plug on another bike, and bought another plug and go kit made for motorcycles and noticed it does not come with the goop, or glue stuff. Whats up with that! Leonard
  15. I got 9000 miles on the rear Bridgestone, tried Avons and got a little over 8000 miles. I've since gone back to the Metzlers. I've only got 4000 miles on em, but they are looking a lot better then the Avons or Bridgestones at this mileage. This is not a really a good indicator for the Metzlers, as it seems the last of the half of the tread disappears a lot faster than the 1st half. I am a lot more diligent in the inspection and maintenance of my air pressure on the Metzlers since reading a few posts about them delaminating. I also hear good things about the Dunlop E3's. I may try them next if they are about the same price as the Metzlers. Leonard
  16. still hurts.
  17. Damn it, she was reading over my shoulder!
  18. If that kinda weight was enough to break the rear end, my bike would have been in the shop months ago! Just me is 235 lbs, and I can't say about Robin, but she ain't small! Leonard
  19. It all sounds great to me, ain't nothing wrong with more cubic inches. Leonard
  20. I started using the Mr Clean kit with the handheld and filter on my bikes when it 1st came out. Just let it air dry, and most water spots are gone. It works great for me. Leonard
  21. I like it!
  22. Sorry guys, that was just mean of me! I know why we all ride, and I know that we are just caring enough to try to make it safer for ourselves and our friends and still be able to enjoy the ride. You all are a great bunch, and I promise I won't post anything before my first pot of coffee anymore. Leonard
  23. No matter what the cost of the tire is, if its not rated for the weight of the bike, or proper speed rating, it should not be mounted on the bike. If I found a $10.00 tire with the proper rating, I would buy it, and mount it. Sometimes, some of you guys make me wonder why you ride a motorcycle. Leonard
  24. For a touring bike that I'm going to put some miles on, I would want a water cooled motor like a V-4. Like someone else said, you'll be rebuilding a air cooled motor long before a water cooled motor. Leonard
  25. A bucket of prop wash?
