  13. Well, Kurt, I'll jump in here. I can't help you with your problem, although someone mentioned that by opening up the screws under the brass plugs by 1/4 turn that would help with the popping, but that might be on the 2nd gen bikes. I have an 86VR and an 05 RSTD and plan on popping off those brass caps and turning mine open by 1/4 turn before spring on the RSTD. I did put on a pair of HD, RK, drilled out slashcut mufflers on the RSTD. On my 86VR, I never noticed it popping. BTW, I live in Sauk City and have a cousin and sister in Janesville. Well have to get together sometime this summer for sure. Good Luck, Steve
  14. Tour Deluxe, I don't think that I understood what you are saying. I have a 05 RSTD and as we know has no audio stuff, so are you saying that you are listening to an Ipod through your headset? If so, where is your Ipod? I know someone who stuck his to the side of his helmet. (Ipod) Steve

  21. Good question, Problem is that they all cost a lot of money, but my first choice will be the lights up front, Second will probably be Ricks brake mod, Then from there it's all a matter of where you want to spend your money. (or my money, in my case) That 1st gen crap sure gets old. Notice this is a 2nd gen tech forum. That's for sure, and I own one. Steve
  22. Mikey, I see the seafoam guys are already at it. Your a mechanic, and I'm mechanical. Taking the carbs off and apart, cleaning them is NO BIG DEAL! Just do it and get it over with. When you are done and it's running great, you won't hesitate to do it again. I've done it and wouldn't bat an eye at doing it again. Good Luck, Steve
  23. Just go over to the Harley shop and buy a pair of RK clamps. That is what I did on my 05 RSTD, when I put the RK mufflers on. Steve
