Did they happen to come with a part number? If I had that I could do a search.

Don, where did you get the ball milled twinkie covers? I want a set to match my carb covers.

If I would have hit it, the only ones that would have gotten anything would be my kids. Even at that, they would not get enough to live on, just enough to enhance their lives. A trust fund would be set up that they would get yearly payouts of a limited amount until they reach 55 years old. Then it would increase until they reach 62. Everyone else can pi$$ off. Relatives turn into vampires who want to suck the last drop of blood out of you when it comes to money. Besides, I have a relative on my wifes side that came into a huge amount of cash. I have never seen a dime. Call me mean or whatever else, but most poeple are broke after a few years even when they have multiple hundreds of millions of dollars. You win, you gotta be mean and protect what you have. I know I would build a nice platform in my garage for my work toolbox. I would put a nice rope around it. Real pretty and all. Everytime I thought about doing something stupid with the cash, I would go out and look at that toolbox and think to myself "this is what your going to have to do if you run out of money" then I would rethink if I want to do something stupid or not.

Coolant Leak
rickardracing replied to KIC's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I just developed one on my 07 RSV. I have it parked in the garage all covered up. Uncovered it and rolled it out to work on it (carb covers) and there was a small spot of coolant on the floor where it was parked. I will look for it in the spring when it goes on the lift when I put new tires on it. Hopefully not a head gasket! -
Well if you can match up the ball mill and they look as nice as the carb covers you do, i would purchase a set from you. Just let me know.
-
Are you going to start doing ball milled? I have ball milled carb covers and would like a set of matching ball milled twinties.

Clutch cover gasket is $13 at the dealer in Brighton.

How many poeple here fly in planes? Drive cars? Ride motorcycles? Walk across streets? More poeple die per year doing those things than blowing up from gas lines exploding. Yup, can't trust them airplanes. Not safe in a cage.....too many nuts on the road. Same goes with riding the scoot. Walking.......man those curbs just jump up outta nowhere. Just sayin...............

Propane $4 a gallon. 500 gallon pig= $2000. When we were on propane it was around .90 cents a gallon, so just under $500 to fill. Lasted about 5 weeks. Switched to natural gas 10 years ago. Never go back.

Bottom line, unions did themselves in.

Nope, done. Fired 15,000 immediately. The bakers union would not take concessions. So be it.

Abosutely nothing, but it cost these workers theirs jobs. Now they can go work for Walmart or Meijer for minimum wage. If they are lucky enough to get hired!

I wanted the ball milled. Just bought a set on ebay. Payed more than what the guy here in the forum sells the plain ones for, but I wanted the ball milled. There are a few more sets available. I got mine in the mail yesterday (Saturday) and they are on the bike now. Here's a link to some for sale on ebay now.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-1300-Royal-Star-Venture-Billet-Carb-Covers-Chrome-ballmill-Tourer-Deluxe-/330830728665?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item4d070c4dd9

Brian, excellent advise! -
Yup, I understand poeple do not want to take a pay cut. I had to take a $10 per hour pay cut when the company I work for went under. Union bakers make pretty good coin. Now, welcome to the real world. I know plenty of UAW workers here in Michigan. Alot of abuse. If I ever tried sleeping on company time.....out the door I would go. If I was told to do something and I come back with "that ain't my job"....I won't have a job. Unions breed laziness, pure and simple. I am not saying that all union workers are useless, but they do not do anything to change the "common" mans mind. It really too bad. Like alot of poeple here, I grew up on that stuff. A real shame.

Combination of mismanagement and the bakers union. See how much they make at Walmart. I am not a fan of unions at all. They were a good thing back in the day, but they are nothing but trouble now.

Don't like it at all. Looks like a spaceship. -
My 2002 Nissan Xterra SESC has a supercharger on it. Manufactured by Eaton for Nissan. Looks like a mini blower just like on a funny car. I HAVE to run premium. Let's just say I found out the hard and expensive way as to why. But it does say and I was told when I bought it that I had to use premium. 93 or higher. Used it for the first 5 years, then when gas went to almost $5 a gallon I quit for almost a year. Not good. I run premium in it now, no matter what the price.
