  1. Why would you want to live that close to approaching air traffic? With all the obstacles around, maybe time to sell or just loosen up the purse strings and pay the higher rate.
  2. Well....I got it open. Took a dremel with a small diameter cut off wheel and cut in between the upper and lower hinge at the pivot point and cut the hinge pin in half. I was able to get my hand in and find what was binding. It was my elastic cargo net. One of the hooks fell into the female part of the latch in the bag when I closed it and the male part on the lid got jammed. I reached in and aa luck would have it the bugger came out. If I can get the pins out I can salvage it.
  3. Worked on it over the weekend. I pried, pushed, pounded, twisted....lid is closed and staying that way. Hinge pins go into a blind hole not through like I had hoped. Hinge pin is either tempered or have been heat treated so drilling is not going to happen. So, when I get back from vacation I am going to run water over the hinge with the garden hose to keep the heat down and use my air grinder with cut off wheel and cut through the hinge at the pins and just replace the hinge. I already have too much time into this and I am just going to eat the cost and get it done with. Thank you all for your constructive suggestions.
  4. No luck. I am going to have to take a cut off wheel and cut through the hinge....so, I need a right side saddle bag hinge......
  5. Going to knock out the hing pin this weekend. "HOPEFULLY" that will free it up enough to get it to unlatch.
  6. At lunch right now so I went out and looked things over. The hinge assembly has a split pin holding it together. I am going to use a pin driver and knock it out to separate the hinge. I believe once I do that I will be able to separate the lid from the bag. Then I will see whay caused it. Probably a couple screws came out and there is too much play in the assembly to let it release.
  7. Ok.....conundrum......my right side saddle bag is stuck closed. YES IT IS UNLOCKED!!! Sheesh...give a guy the benefit of doubt!.....But anyhooooo.....I can move it up and down a little bit but I can press that button down as far as it will go and it won't release. I shot some lube in the lock and worked it up and down, pressed on the button as far as I can and pounded the lid with my other hand......nope, nada, ain't gonna happen. Me thinks I may have to drill out the lock. Anyone have this issue? How did you get it open?
  8. If one of the two just kicked up their offer by 50 bucks they would have the lead. If the bike did not need so much work I would end it now with an offer. Looking it over I see way too much that needs done to make it my own.
  9. All I am saying is that more interest would be generated if there is an actual price. The last thing poeple want to get involved with is a bidding war. Generally it takes longer to sell when the buyer had to come up with a price.
  10. Need to take an honest look at the trike and just put a fair price on it for the condition it is in.

  12. I watched both videos. I like the second set up better. Being I have useless lift I may go ahead and spend another 100 bucks and get it working.
  13. Cost of HF lift plus the cost of air cylinder plus the time to convert....not going to be direct fit....plus the cost of weld...you now have the cost of a good lift. I personally will never buy anything like this from them again.
  14. I bought one of these pos's 3 years ago. It lifted my bike 3 times, seal in cylinder blew out. I did not buy the warranty but pitched a ***** to the manufacturer. They sent me a new free cylinder via a slow boat from China.....6 months to get it. It lifted the bike twice then blew out. Found a youtube video of a guy that reworked the hydraulic unit. Required welding and such. The design of this lift is pretty poor. Now I have a lift siiting in my garage that wont even lift an empty platform. You get what you pay for. I wish I would have put that money towards a real lift. If anyone in Michigan wants to come and get this one and try to get it working, I will cut you a good deal.
  15. Just rolled in. Hit some rain off ans on. Stayed dry. Good time was had. Cannot wait until next year!

  17. I would not wear a helmet while DRIVING one. I understand they are "classified" as a motorcycle, but....you sit in it not on it, you drive it not ride it, it has car tires not motorcycle tires, steering wheel not handle bars, floor shifter........like a car! I concider them an automobile, thus no helmet. But depending on what state you are in at the time.....you will be required.
  18. I hope we get another demo on rebuilding the rear shock. I would like to video the process.
  19. Sorry about the rotated pics. These lights are just plain awesome. One of the best upgrades I did. Well worth the money, time and fabrication work.
