  1. Yes it came with a mounting plate, ring and adjusters. As I said, I will be posting step by step instructions, but it IS NOT direct fit. You will be busting out a cutoff wheel. If your not good at fabrication or squeemish about cutting on your bike....this is not for you. There was nothing hard, but there was cutting involved.
  2. Bought Daymaker leds for my 07 RSV. Before pic is the dull yellow looking lights. The new led lights are the brighter whiter lights. I will be doing a complete step by step write up with pictures once I am done. I will say.....if your scared to use a cut off wheel, this conversion is not going to be for you. But the way I look at it....everything is fixable so I did some cutting. Tutorial coming to a theater near you soon.
  3. Hopefully they don't screw up like they did last year.
  4. Last year at Freebird's there was a guy there that showed us how to rebuild the rear shock. I neglected to get his info on where to send it for him to rebuild it. Can anyone post he info here?
  5. Scott, I demo'ed the bike a few years ago. Took it on about a 30 mile ride. Personally, I loved it. Low center of gravity, I was dragging the floor boards going around corners, plenty o'power. Some say the bags are flimsy. I do not think they are any worse than a Harley bag. Ever see a Harley trunk lid open? Pretty wobbly in my opinion. Sure there are pros and cons on every scoot. V-Twin was smooth and responsive, different powerband than the Venture for sure but it has guts. Everything seemed to be within reach. My biggest complaint was no cb, but honestly....I hardly ever use mine. Yes a gps, satellite radio and other do-dads would also be nice, but a new 2019 is 18k US. Check on ebay and there is a 2018 brand new for just over 14K.......for a new touring bike. That really to me is getting the most bang for the buck. But, this is just my opinion. I like my 07, but....my butt is getting a bit itchy to sit on another ride. So if I bought a NEW touring bike...it would probably be the Kawasaki, If I bought a USED touring bike....more than likely the Indian. Now to throw a monkey in the wrench....As I said, I like my bike. I get ALOT of thumbs up when on the road, especially with the matching trailer hooked up....so with that being said, I went to the International Motorcycle Expo in Cleveland a few weeks back. ANNNNNNNND I fell I love with......wait for it..........the Triumph Bonneville Bobber. I absolutely would love to have that sitting next to my Venture. Those can be had a year old with less than 2000 miles for about 8K. That bike, with mini apes and that single saddle seat.....oh yeah baby....that is alllllll Randy right there! The new Venture.....when we approached it in the Yammy display and my wife saw that......she says "That IS NOT what they replaced your bike with is it"? I said "Darn Tootin"....She frowned and said..."Ugly"... and I agree. Not my cup of tea. But that Triumph...........................................................VRRRRROOOOOOOOOOM!!
  6. Hey Scott!! No new ride for me....still kicking the tires on bikes. If I pull the trigger it will either be an Indian Roadmaster or if I bought new.....Kawasaki Voyager 1700 ABS. But I figure once I hit 100kon the odometer on ol blue...I will start looking. I am looking forward to seeing all you old varmits.
  7. Yup...it's official.......just booked my room at the ol'Red Roof Inn!!
  8. Thank you, I have 1200 miles on it now. We have had it 2 1/2 weeks. I keep checking the average and it is up to 18.1 mpg. I expect it to level out at 21 or 22 mpg. My last one averaged 21 so I expect this one to be about the same. My wife drove it for the first two weeks and likes it, but it is too big for her. So I gave her the Kia Sorento she was driving back and I am taking this one over. Usually we buy a new ride, she drives it for the first 5 years while we pay on it to keep the mileage down and I take her old one over. I was not thrilled with the Sorento, it IS a nice suv, but too small for me but perfect for her and she loves it, so.........I am driving the new one. And I have a loooong ride to and from work so the miles are going to rack up pretty quick. But atleast I can do it in style AND comfort!!
  9. That is what we did. I knew I wanted the TRD so I searched the inventory of every Toyota Dealer in Michigan (except for the U.P). The dealer we got this one from had the 18 and 19. Same color, same options. The 19 was more. The 18 was reduced almost 4k below sticker and I got them down a bit more. Got great money f0r my trade. I could not pass it up. I had great luck with the 2007, it was the best vehicle I have ever owned so I figured I would go with another one. I really like it so far.
  10. Went out and picked up a new ride. Traded in the 2007 4Runner for a 2018 TRD Offroad. The 2007 had 278,000 faithful miles.
  11. Why do you still have the window sticker in your car?
  12. Not a fan of full face helmets. And if I want air conditioning I will drive my suv.
  13. Why is this a concern for Yamaha riders?
  14. That is NIIIIIICE ! I carry a Taurus .40 24/7 G2 Compact. Nothing fancy, pretty accurate, never had a jam, but it suits my needs. But that one.......my friend that is a beauty.
  15. I did 40 mile test ride on one and loved it. It is a definatley an option.
  16. I should be rolling in about 2pm or so. Going to drop my stuff off at the motel first.
  17. Just remember....bongobobny.......is full of BS.....love ya Bob!
  18. Nothing has been discussed yet as far as I know of. I don't think Larry (Carbonone) is going to make it this year, atleast I thought I saw him post about not making it. This could be a result of my psycosis and I imagined it. SHUT UP .....sorry.....the voices in my head are talking again and I had to yell at them........Jay (ragtop69gs) I know is coming.
  19. I replaced mine 2 years ago with a direct replacement from Dennis Kirk for $125. The I bought another one off of Ebay for $30, new from Caltric (California Electric). I put the cheapy in the saddle bag just incase. I know some here have backyard Barney'd other non motorcycle pumps into their scoots. I prefer plug and play. This way if the pump goes out again while on a trip, I simply pull out the new cheap spare.....20 minutes later I am back on the road. If you Frankenstein one in and for some reason it quits while your out, you have no way to fix it. Some things are best left alone. Your not going to save much money, if any, by going the other route. Once the covers are off, it is one screw, two hoses and an electrical plug. Just my .02 John.
  20. This is all I could find. Local VSP investigating fatal single-vehicle crash in Lee County By: Jordan Moore Updated: May 06, 2018 09:59 PM EDT LEE COUNTY, VA (WJHL)- Virginia State Police officials said they are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened over the weekend in Lee County. According to VSP, a trooper responded to Route 58, less than a mile west of Route 912 Saturday morning around 10:30. That's where authorities said a man, identified as 68-year-old Daniel M. Woods of Ivydale, West Virginia, was traveling east on his motorcycle. VSP reports the motorcycle ran off the right side of Route 58 and hit the guardrail. Woods was taken to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, where he later died from his injuries. We're told Woods was wearing a helmet. That crash is still under investigation.
