  1. SilvrT, thanks for the pics! Skid, gotta love those Ram Mounts, that's what I use for my gps and mp3.
  2. Lifetime ayy? Hmm wheels be turning! I do not have one of them thar fancy shmancy phones, so a portable unit is what I am thinking. I see some have the antenna inside the fairing and some don't. I would prefer to have it inside. Good feedback from everyone. Thanks guys!
  3. This is exactly what I meant buy buying a new one that has been sitting around for awhile. It's still new, but discounted down pretty darn good!!
  4. XM is what we have in the car. We really like it. No good radio stations here in the Detroit area. Plus I do long rides. I have an mp3 player that is plugged into the cassette jack inside the fairing. But, I would like more variety of music. Not just what is on the mp3 player. I listen to some pretty hard stuff, Liquid Metal, Lithium, etc. But I also like the 50' and even the 40's, so XM would be good. I just was not sure if you had to have the antenna out in the open or if I could mount it inside the fairing.
  5. I was thinking of going with satellite radio on the bike. Actually, we have it in the new car and like it alot. So I was thinking of getting a portable unit for in my suv and having a mount for the bike also. Who has it on their scoot, where did you mount the antenna?
  6. Agreed. I buy all of my cars new. Just bought my wife a 2013 Honda CRV. I buy alot of things new. But a motorcycle, I will probably never buy new. The hit you take on value on a motorcycle is too much for me. Plus there are plenty of poeple willing to take that hit. I bought my 07 RSV in 09 with 9100 miles on it for 11k from the original owner. He had 21k into it. He took the big hit, not me AND I love my bike just as much as if I would have bought it new. But that's just me.
  7. Of course when you buy new and keep it 17 years, there isn't anything used either. When was the last time you bought a new bike or car? I see in your avatar you bike is quite old. Not trying to start an argument, but you make a statement about buying new and then you say you bought something new 17 years ago and still have it. Hmmmm.
  8. Buying "new" is never a good deal unless it's a bike that has been sitting there and they are offering a deep discount. Buy used, plenty out there for less than half the price and usually with go faster chrome. But if you insist on spending the extra cash, by all means, make the purchase.
  9. Nothing wrong with how he had the bike "pimped out" or what he chose to wear. It's called "Self Expression" and we all do it to a certain extent. Maybe if he saw you on your scoot, he would chuckle at you. He was riding, that is what is important, nothing else. Just my opinion that was not asked for.
  10. Wayne, I bought a new one off of ebay. I would have to find out the numbers, but you can just do a search on there and find them.
  11. Good question. I just ordered one for my 07 RSV. I will keep an eye on this thread for an answer!
  12. Try using foul language on a cop like he did the biker. AND don't even tell me he could not stop in time. Traffic was not moving that fast. Just because he has a badge and uniform does not make him a good guy.
  13. Same reason so many trailer their bikes to sturgis. You would not believe how many poeple have asked me, when they find out where I am going on vacation, if I am going to trailer my bike there and then ride. Went to Colorado...."are you trailering your bike there?".........Tail of The Dragon......."are you going to trailer your bike down there"?......now we are thinking of going to Key West.....got the same stupid question.....from the same stupid poeple. Bikes are meant to be rode, not hauled on a trailer. Not even a HD. Believe it or not....those are meant to be rode also.
  14. Nope, but I think it cracked what ice is left on the lake!! I am about 3 miles west of Whitmore lake. But I heard you!!
  15. Yup, you can have all the nice weather you want, but no bike to ride......................
  16. Eddie..............I heard you all the way out in Hamburg!
  17. I like the looks. Too late for me because I already cut up my dash for my guages. The only thing I do not like it having to limit your steering. Not a fan of that at all, 3/16" or not. But I really like the carbon fiber look. Very nice job.
  18. Depends on the size of the trailer and how much weight your trying to pull. I have seen poeple overload a trailer and I have seen guys with trailers that had no business being behind a bike. And I know they knew they were back there. For what I take in mine, I know it's back there on braking and low speed turns.
  19. I think it depends on the deal Yammy gets at the time of build. My 07 came with Dinlop D404's. Lasted 13,000 miles.
  20. Amazing how much easier it is when you remove those two screws. Mine did not have screws going inti the top tree. My brother in-laws Midnight Venture did. Glad it worked out for you Jay. I wish I was not busy at home, I would have rode out and gave you a hand. Randy
  21. You know I had the same thing happen. I did not change laptops. I used to do a royal star venture search and get only the stuff for ventures. A couple of hundred at the most. Did not matter if I was on my laptop or at work. Now I get thousands of parts with the same search. I think Ebay changed something.
  22. I have the J&M. I had the basic for 2 years or so. Finally gave up the ghost. Now I have J & M Elite. Very nice.
  23. Joe, I thought you were buying your uncles RSV?
  24. I love my RSV, but if I was in the market for a new bike, it would either be a Kawasaki or a Harley. I would not even consider Yamaha and their current line-up. Victory....looks like a$$, so does the gold wing. Not my style preference.
