"My wife got killed for no reason," Gilbert told NBC 7 Friday night. "Show me that my wife had a gun or something that threatened the guy’s life where he had to use lethal force against her." I guess running an agent down with a car and carrying him a few hundred yards down the street while on the hood is not enough of a threat. She lost the fight. PERIOD! Officers of the Law, be they LEO or Border Patrol Agents, FBI, DEA or whomever, are put under extreme conditions everyday. You try and run one over with a car, that is intent to commit murder. PERIOD!! That gives them the right to defend themselves. She tried, she lost. If I am armed and you try and run me down.....your gonna loose.

inputs on the venture's, likes and do not likes

It does have that pesky cassette, but just plug in an mp3 player and install a ram mount and that takes care of that. Low speed handling sucks. I switched tires to E3's (130) in the front and dropped the front 3/4" by pushing the fork tubes up in the triple tree. Handles like a dream. No issues. Comfort level is VERY high. I did 1065 miles in 19 3/4 hours this summer. No problem. Just put 1700 miles on last week running the Dragon and other roads down into Georgia. Customize it to make it your own and never look back. -
Jay, keep us updated. What the heck happened?

Get into the habit of using the side stand to shut off the bike. That's what I do.

Why would you not want to do both?
-
Yup, all 2nd and 3rd gear, but well worth the ride down to do it. It was raining when we did it (dragon), so that kept the speed down and made for very light traffic. The 28 made my butt pucker a few times with the trailer on the back, there was alot of gravel kicked up in the switch backs though. Had to be careful. Bridal Veil Falls was VERY cool.

My mother in-law started then stopped. No way she would have made it up there. We had an awesome view, but just as we were leaving the clouds came in.

I just turned 22,000 miles on my Elite 3's. That's what's going back on. Never noticed the blowing around on the highway, but the 130 with the lowered front end will make a huge differance.

Well, we made it back Saturday afternoon. Ran the Dragon, Moonshiner 28 down into Georgia and the Cherohala Skyway. Went to Clingmans Dome, almost had a heart attack walking up, but worth it once you see the view. Beautiful scenery. Thare aren't any roads like that here in Michigan. Personally, I think the Moonshiner 28 is an under rated road. That thing was very technical. Every bit as much as the dragon. Especially with the trailer on the back! I will definately go back and ride them again.

I will get with you on purchasing one.

I like the idea of using it for added storage when you do not want to pull a trailer. Hmmmm, me Spacely Sprockets and Cogsley Cogs are turning now.....................

Market Rearch_What would you pay for a new redesigned Venture?
rickardracing replied to RSTDdog's topic in Watering Hole
My next bike purchase will probably be a Venture trike when I find one at the right price, that will probably be to replace my wifes 750 Shadow. After that will be second bike for me, a Kawasaki Vaquero or an all out custom pro-street style to play around with. -
One question. How long does the ice last being right at the exhaust?
-
I forgot to order one. Did you happen to order extras?

Nice!

It's all hog wash. I do not believe any of that. They can't make you run a particular gas in your bike and tell you how much you have to buy. What are they going to do, put a cop at every gas station to monitor what your putting gas in and how much your buying? Ain't going to happen, no need to worry about or to discuss it further.

I agree with Brian. The led's are the "major" non-stock change. By-pass those somehow OR change back to stock, problem just may go away.

Customer Rep told me yesterday that Yamaha does not tell them anything. They found out about the Venture when we did. Call and complain, make your voice heard. They submitt all calls to Yamaha, they might not listen or even care, but it's nice to vent.

A 30 year Anniversary Edition would have been nice! I am with you Don, I am surprised that they actually offered one also. I do like the color combo though. I would just like to see some minor upgrades like I stated a few posts above. Something that current Venture owners could and probably would by and put on their scoots.
