  1. All good valid points. I do not have a HF trailer. I have a Dart. Nothing wrong with the HF, just not the look that I want behind my scoot. So I opted to spent the extra for what I have. I have seen unmodified HF style trailers bouncing down the road behind a bike more than once. I think most poeple do not think about the spring rates and tongue lengths. I know my Dart is looooong. With the swivel coupler I think it is around 96 inches long. BUT, because the torsion spring is properly set-up and the longer tongue, it does not sway or bounce. ANYONE that is considering the HF trailers, search the threads and ask questions from guys that have them. LISTEN to what they say. They have been there and done that. If you want it to tow properly, you will have to make a few mods, but that's the fun......modifying something and making it your own!
  2. Personally, I think 3k for a bike that old is too much money. But that's me. As for the Voyager kit, you could not give me one of those things. They just make a bike look stupid. That's why they are so cheap to begin with. But the guy should have taken the offer. Some poeple want new prices for stuff that's outdated. He's just out of touch with reality. You did nothing wrong.
  3. I agree, I would never have attempted that. That load has a very high center of gravity. Just because a trailer is rated at a cetain amount, does not mean you should try and load it to that amount. Especially with a motorcycle as a tow vehicle. Count your blessings nothing happened. That really is an accident waiting to happen. Holy Moly!
  4. That was your first mistake. You went to Walmart.
  5. That was truely amazing. I watched it on the discovery channel and on the net. Glad he made it. The guy has some serious b@ll$.
  6. I do not know how the human body can withstand 0-690mph in 35 seconds. I HOPE he makes it. He will break alot of records, but I think...and I hope I am wrong.....he won't survive. Good luck Felix!!
  7. LOUD!!! I do not care for the janky bracket set-up at the rear. Needs the nice Harley clamps like I have for the front. But it's LOUD!!
  8. Jay, I understand where your coming from. When I went to Arizona for work, there were a few times I wish I had been carrying. I do believe it is not really necessary and one of the main reasons I do not carry is my temper. There are times I get mad enough, if I had a gun, someone would get shot. Maybe I need to grow up more and work on the anger issue. Maybe someday I will carry. I have concidered getting my permit, it is my right, but at this point in my life, it's not for me. I do respect the rights of poeple that do carry.
  9. Any Cirque Du Solie shows. I have seen Blue Man twice, Rita Rudner was hilarious, Lance Burton puts on a good majic show. Poeple watch on the strip. Take a taxi down to Freemont Street one evening. I know I have seen something else while out there but can't remember. We have walked from the Riviera all the way down to the Luxor (pyramid) and back to Circus Circus while going in each casino and the shops each one has. If you get bored out there, it's your own fault. Lots to see free. Just watch the taxi's don't get you in a traffic jam and then try and jam you on the fare. They know how to get around the conjestion.
  10. Really not liking right now Joe! I have atleast 14 years to go! I will mark my calender and will be there rain or shine! Maybe I will have another bike for J-Bird to pinstripe by then
  11. There have only been a few times when traveling either in a car or on the bike I wish I would have had something. It's really overkill and unnecessary.
  12. I think you have more hair than me Joe................but I'm better looking!
  13. I would like to think those days are over me also, I am 48. But, I did have to reach in through a window about two months ago and have a hands on "discussion" with a young man. Sometimes my temper gets away from me.
  14. I trust no one. If I leave my trailer at a motel, the tongue is locked down and a cable runs through the wheels, frame and to a tree or another trailer. If they really want it, they are going to have to work for it. I neverr leave a gps or mp3 player on the bike, covered or not. EVERYTHING is put away and locked up. I go into a store, helmets get locked up on the bike. TRUST NO ONE!!
  15. He is home.
  16. Leave your helmet on. It hurts their hands IF they make contact.
  17. And there it is!! The second gen slam! I was waiting for it!!
  18. That's how I use my wifes Ipod and my Walkman. Audio until you hit AUX. Make sure volume on Ipod is turned up all the way. If this does not work, there is another issue.
  19. Amen brother!
  20. Get well soon buddy! Randy
  21. That's what I meant. I would assume that the coonections for the radio antenna and the cb are not the same. Just the placement is wrong.
  22. Nice scoot. Very nice write up! I looked at a Ultra Classic at Smoky Mountain Harley in Pigeon Forge 2 weeks ago. It was a Smoky Mountain Limited put out by that dealer. BEAUTIFUL!!!! I came REALLY close to pulling the pin and trading in my Venture. Glad I did'nt. Payment would have killed me! But between the Road Glide and the Ultra Classic, I like the layout of the dash on the Ultra Classic better. Plus, I love my bike too much to part with it!
  23. What differance does it make what side it's on?
  24. HaHA, accidently hits him.............and carries his a couple of hundred yards away!! Please. As far as witnesses. Depending on the hood, can they be really reliable?
