  1. bj, I believe the turn signal bodies are the same and the lenses are interchangeable. Check with Eagleeye. He has bullet lense on his RSTD. Good Luck
  2. Maybe. I just read that Volkswagan just bought one fifth of Suzuki for 2.5 Billion. (A bike for real hill climbing)
  3. Craig, just curious how they billed you for $800? Like you said you took it in for 16k maintenance not repair. I assume that is for plugs, filters, oil, and maybe coolant. You did mention checked carb sync. You also mentioned that the fairing was removed?
  4. Dan, sounds like a good deal you have. Keep in mind you will pay for the Medicare for you and any supplement you choose which could be almost be half of your retirement plan. Don't know your wife's health but any single plan you would get for her will have a much higher deductable and copay also since you say you have a good policy. Office visits and drug cost for her would also be much more.
  5. Warranty repair as stated. I have exact same problem when it get's about 50 degrees or below(temp. sensitive). Around this temp my CB comes on and like you say only vol control works. Turn it down to zero and wait for warmer day. Probably temp sensitive IC. Will look into it this winter as my is a 99. Good luck
  6. don't think CB is going to be much help in meeting or communicating with bikers as range is very limited.

    2nd Gen Key?

Just took my key to local hardware store (Ace) and they cut one for $2.00 I'm sure other hardware stores can do it also. Good Luck
  8. I think a number of them have petro stocks in their port folio's. I do know a few that do it to keep it from stalling.
  9. Skid, just curious what over speed triggers your radar on your interstates and what is the speed limit? Thanks
  10. Yes mine needs to be replaced, all oil has leaked out, still holds air, but not wanting to go to far, especially two up, with it that way. Thanks, Later- Red Ryder, been riding two up over two years now without oil. I, nor the wife seem to notice any difference. Might also be the reason I've been called a Hard Ass before.
  11. Just double click award and it explains.
  12. Snarley, Honda left Ohio and went back to Japan in June 2008.

    LEDs

tx2 sturgis gave a good explanation , flb 78 knew what he was saying also just didn' go into detail. The current draw is a function of the resistance of the device and the voltage applied. The led resistance stays the same so to increase the voltage (flb78) is the only way to destroy the device by over current your ohms law reference to current, (current drawn is the voltage divided by the resistance of device. Led's in general operate at 2 to 3.5 volts in general. The normal current draw is 20 milliamps. The variabiles of voltage on led's is determined by the color and size of led. Simply stated your bike's voltage is 12 volts. Apply that voltage to led and it becomes a flash bulb. You now put a resistor in series with the led to limit the current to the 20 mils. The resistor block's or drop's the voltage down to that 2 to 3.5 volt depending on the led's to get it to only draw the 20 mils. If the resistance is calculated wrong, to high resistance will produce to low voltage dimming led. To low will increase voltage and depending on the over voltage will either destroy the led or decrease the hours it works.
  16. Don, look close at your receipt or you may have got lucky. Here in Cincinnati BMV will charge you a $ 5.00 penalty if the title is not transfered within 30 days. That should be statewide as we all go through Columbus.
  17. I have an account with Tire Rack. A1 company. Good prices, fast shipping.
  18. Ken, I have a 99 Venture, 50000 mi. I can only speak for myself but it has been trouble free. On spline and pins lube most seem to do it at tire replacement. I did it once at about 45000. I think some people look at mileage and think they need something tweaked or tuned even if it is running fine. Myself if it maintains 40+ mpg don't bog miss etc. I just ride it. One point I will make is the whine, scream or whatever you call it, my at 60 to about 70 makes it bad since day one. Kind of got use to it and with music playing don't irritate me much anymore. This is the only problem and real negative I have with the bike. Some folks say they don't have the noise. I would strongly recommend that you take the bike you plan to purchase out for a good test ride including expressway to check full speed range for noise. Good Luck
  19. Boo, looks like you have good ears for guitar.
  20. Adventure 1943, maybe it's only where we live but many people flash lights to give right away. A biker friend got hit for that exact reason at a four way stop. I to can never ride in front of one. In certain circumstances they can be dangerous. Don't know how many on this site have them but the last time I seen modulation was a trip to Tenn. where I seen a number of Gold Wings with them. I can't remember the last time I seen one riding around my area (OH, KY, IN.) 0
  21. Garmin 2720 is waterproof (IPX7) but it is not bluetooth compatable.
  22. Don't know how many seen this on internet, but is the worst to best states issueing speeding tickets especially out of state, very close over limit, etc. Some admit they have to help state income and especially eliminate warnings. tire question

If it is a small round hole, not cut etc. located in the crown area those Tech plugs make a permanent fix for that flat.
