  5. I would like to correct myself. I have a set of Dunlop WWW, and I mentioned I only got 8,000 miles on them but I checked my records and there is 12,350 miles on them now. Depth of thread right now is about 1/16" and time for replacement. I have another Dunlop WWW, ready to go on. I am not dissapointed with them but the only manufacturer that carrys the WWW. Brad
  6. I use the buddy list as a short cut to people who I PM on occasion. Brad
  7. I was wondering if Avon had any plans to manufacture a front Wide White Wall tire for the RSV's and asked for a comment on the MT90 for the front. Attached is there answer. I questioned one of the comments and asked for a explanation and the answer is attached, as well. The answer is just the manufacturers opinion, which I am sure is standard policy (CYA), so please take it for what it is worth. I know many have tried it and liked it and do not have any concerns or problems. Myself personally I would prefer to stick to the stock sizes. Brad Thank you for contacting Avon Tyres. At this time we in the North American office of Avon Tyres have heard no plans to produce your front tire as a WWW. As for using the MT90 instead of the 150 we cannot recommend this because you will be dropping in dimensions. The MT90 has a higher load rating due to it's belted construction making it a reinforced tire but because of it's smaller dimensions it will not hold up to the bike as well and you will be loosing contact patch width. This fitment may work well for some people but due to the size of the bike we don't recommend it. Let us know if you have any more questions. Thank you for your interest in Avon Tyres and ride safely. Hello Brad, sorry I didn't get back to you right away. Our policy is to never recommend a tire of lower specs. This includes both load & speed ratings as well as overall dimensions. In most cases a larger tire always has more load carrying capacity due to a wider contact patch dispersing the weight through more tire. Adding belted construction will raise the load rating but is done to ensure that the tire will keep it's general uniformity under heavier loads. Even though a tire is belted, it's contact patch should still be sufficient to get the best grip. A tires load carrying abilities is important but it's level of grip is also very important. Another con to having a smaller contact patch is possible cupping issues with the rubber as well as other strange wear characteristics. The casing may be reinforced but the rubber is not. We reinforced the MT90 so much because we don't think that it is a large enough tire for such large bikes and with our modifications to the tire it works well for what it was originally fitted to. But we still don't want to recommend other bikes that require wider tires to switch to the MT90 especially if we have the proper size for that application. I hope this answers your questions and please let me know if you have any more. Avon Customer Service c/o Hoppe & Assoc, Inc. PO. Box 5112 Lynnwood, WA 98036 USA Tel: 800-624-7470, Fax: 425-771-4246

  9. Too much air will wear out the center of the tires, too little wears out the edges. I personally will load the trailer, then run it through a little water, then look at the tracks on the dry pavement. Should be as wide as the tire, if over inflated you will notice, under inflated is harder to determine but is possible. I believe max pressure is too much air, for the total weight you will be pulling. Brad
  10. Welcome, glad you joined us. Steve Not sure that works for all as mine cuts out at 80 mph as measured on the GPS, Which is close to 90 on the speedo. The speedo's are out and your speed is actually lower than posted on the speedometer. Brad
  11. I find when mine starts to pop it needs a good carb sync or shut the Choke off. Also when I was in Colorado at higher elevations nothing helped it ackfired all day long. Brad
  12. Gary, I just proof read and corrected the spelling. I can not hear through the speakers on the bike nor the headsets. THis happens when the head sets are plugged in or not. BRad
  13. I believe this seems to be back up to the top again. Brad
  14. My CB started acting up on my 99. THe other evening it worked but I could not hear anyone, but they could hear me. Then it started working again. The next day it seemed to cut in and out on certain bumps. I removed the trunk checked all the connections and still had the problem. Removed front fairing checked all the wires again. I put Dielectric grease on all the connectors, zip tied the cables. Still could not isolate any particular wire as the cause. I even removed the CB and the Main controller (I believe this is what is in the front fairing). Cleaned the ground wire and presently it is working, but have not had a chance to test it on a ride. Did I miss any connectors under the tank ? Anyone have a similar problem ? If so did you fix it and how ? Brad
  15. Phil Have not looked at all the pictures yet but found them here http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn10/sleepy2_2008/ Brad
  16. I can not even imagine that I could do that to Naugh-T's bike, or I Could be in Big Trouble. Brad
  17. HEy Bill you just missed Carl's annual meet and eat. The people were great and so was the food and everyone is invited. And Guess what, It did not rain. Actually Ontario, Michigan and the Ontario/Michigan try to get together at least once a month, when the weather is warm enough to ride. Brad
  18. Glad you had a good time. Did you take any pictures ? Brad
  19. I was not trying to say we had our own private group, just that there is at least 10 members on this site from the City of Kitchener. Last year there was 5 of us that all went to Colorado and had a great time. On the return trip we all talked about hosting a similar event for all of you. We are planning on having a good time and it is too bad you will not be able to make it. Any time you want to come up let us know and I am sure we would do our best to accomadate you. Brad
  20. ON my 86 I checked the timing as well and it was slightly off, but I think it was related to the RPM, and the vaccum. IT was not off much but if you crack the throttle and see it move, then it should be okay. Gas mileage is a big part of how you drive. Major difference running at 80 km/hour to 120. Brad
  21. I never had any luck with Tecumseh. Had a 8 hp briggs on a snowblower that worked much better and it had 20 years on it, but it blew 5 driveways each time it snowed and that was in the Northern parts of Ontario. One thing about the Briggs you have to keep the oil level to max., or you will find another hole. Hope it works for you BRad
  22. This was the reason we planned for mid week, so that anyone travelling far would not miss the front end or rear. Not too mention if it started on a friday and you had two days of driving you would time off in different work weeks. ********** The Kitchener group had to travel three days to get to Fort Collins. and it was nice that it started on a Monday. BRad
  23. If the person is in your buddy list just click the button "PM" Receiving them is a little different. BRad
  24. Ontario has inspections for both, cars also need emissions test every two years. Motorcycles need to have lights working, they check most brg's expecially the sterring head, also visual check to make sure things are correct, (like foot pegs in good shape and there etc....) Some will take them for a ride, but not mandatory. BRad
  25. Could not agree more. Although Maybe those little buggers would have frooze to death. Brad
