Like others, my rear brakes are toast after less than 1.5K miles. Hannigan was real good about this and express shipped me new rotors and pads overnight free of charge, but I'm still not overall happy with the Brembo pads, they are too coarse and chew the rotors up. Soooo, what I found out is they are pads for the rear of a Ducati. I believe KTM's use the same. Herre are a few cross references for you. EBC FA266 and FA266HH, and Dunlop DP601. I'm sure there are more but that's a little more groundwork. The reason for the puny Brembo calipers lies in the rear master cylinder. It is only a 1/2" bore and can not deliver enough volume of fluid to the stock Honda calipers. So, one of my many winter projectrs will be to try to morph a 3/4" master on to the RSV, and I hate to say this, but it will most likely be from a Harley unless I can find something from a metric bike...

I'm sure you all will hear about it soon enough! Last weekend I went on a ride with Big Tom up to Lake Ontario and when we got there for lunch I turned off the GPS and put it in the trunk. Well, when Earl called me this week for our address that wasn't coming up on his GPS, I ran out to the garage and got the GPS out of the trunk, turned it on, and gave him the coordinates over the phone. Unfortunately, it didn't find itself on the satellites yet when I gave him the coordinates! He called from an area which should have been about an hour away, and two hours later we were wondering what was taking soooo long! He called a second time asking me if we lived anywhere near the lake. He mentioned some street names that were totally unfamiliar to me, so, I gave him the address for an Auto Zone up the street from us and he told me he was an hour and a half away, on Rt 98 at the lake! Rt 98 comes into Arcade so I told him to head south on the route and I wil come north to him. We met up with them about 45 minutes later, took 2 other couples along for the ride. I finaly figured out what happened on the way home after we stoped for diner, which is another story...

Actually, ask Cecdoo what it feels like. At Asheville a couple of years ago a rolling dent of a truck was left unattended at a gas station and it rolled right into his scot while he was pumping gas. Luckily he was not injured but the bike was slightly...

How hard is it to match
bongobobny replied to Cruser's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well, repaint one part, then the rest of the bike starts to look shabby in comparison... Yes, you can get away with just one part depending on if it physically comes in contact with another part. If it doesn't, it can be just a shade off and never noticed. However, if you paint the whole bike, you can make it any color combination and any style you want! -
I have a few extra rubbers. I should have the rectangular ones both sides. PM me, they are free..

Yah! I'm thinking the valve stem needs to be replaced as it is a common problem. The rubber seal where it mounts into the rim gets dry rotted and won't seal any more. The 1200 is slightly faster than the 1300 by a few milliseconds... -
Perhaps she is with Laverne??? You're right, Peggy, you can't win with this one...

Passenger CB
bongobobny replied to tpalshadow's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
For passenger PTT, the yellow wire going to the CB is loking for a ground to activate the transmitter. That should be allo the info you need to McGuiver a PTT switch. As far as connecting to the system, there are 2 din jacks on the amplifier unit to plug in driver and passenger headset cables to. You really don't need the aux passenger controler to make things work...
