Uhhhh, a brain?? If I did I never would have bought all those spare parts I'll never use in the first place... -
There is a connector coming from the pickup coils about halfway up the frame that can cause you to loose one set of timing marks from the PU coil. Clean and reconnect, or better still hard wire that puppy. It gives a symptom of 2 cylinders not firing...

somebody HEP me!! tail light
bongobobny replied to barend's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
When you resoldered the cmu maybe you induced a solder short somehow. Anyway, I do have a spare '83 board you can have but it won't go out until Monday, flat rate priority mail... -
I see a couple of Hardleys tried to keep up with you but I see Bertha in front of them... Those crab legs make me hungry!!!

More specifically TRANSFERABLE 5 year unlimited miles warranty!!!

Very common problem, Slickster! What needs to be done is split your fairing and clean all of the connectors with contact cleaner then put some dielectric grease on all of the pins and reassemble. Actually, being an '06 that should be still under warranty and the dealer should do that for you no charge...

clutch adjust?
bongobobny replied to 6m459's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sooo, fluid is staying trapped and not allowed to return into the master cylinder resovoir. There is a pinhole on the bottom of the resovoir that is probably plugged up... -

Wiring harness the same?
bongobobny replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
In a nutshell, no! You can use a Royale harness on a standard, but not the other way, me thinks. You can pick up a Royale harness on Fleabay relatively cheap though... -
What, no pictures?!!?

No way are we getting up at 5AM but it is a worthwhile cause. Hope there is a great turnout!!!

trailer wiring
bongobobny replied to rickardracing's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Condor, 1st gens and 2nd gens use the same color code wor wiring. You just match up the function of the bike wire to the function of the trailer wire. White hooked up to bike black, bike yellow becomes blue trailer, etc...- 16 replies

Evan, heavy duty clutch springs from Barnett should fix you up for now, around $10 - $20 range... -
clutch adjust?
bongobobny replied to 6m459's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Your clutch slave cylinder is probably on it's way out. There are rebuild kits for them but it is almost as cheap to just replace the unit. There is a trick to removing and reinstalling them but I think there has brern a write up on the process somewhere here... Stainless steel lines also increase the firmness of the clutch handle. You may want to consider rebuilding your clutch master along with flushing the system as well. Those are, after al, 25+ year old parts... -
trailer wiring
bongobobny replied to rickardracing's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK the color code for the bike wiring is not the same. Yellow is the brake line, blue is the running lights, and green and brown are the turn signals. I forgot which is which. You will find all the wires you need behind the licence plate in that chrome clamshell...- 16 replies
