    There was a pair for the front and a rear on e-bay recently that never got a bid so they may show up again. Shoulda,coulda,woulda but had no money to buy as spares.

    I was told by a rep. from Penzoil that motorcycle oil had additives to handle the clutch and transmission, and also make sure its the correct weight for your bike. Mine takes 20w40

    I change my fluids in the bike every year except the fork oil which I change every 2nd year. Then I know for sure things will work just like their supposed to.

    :2cents:I can testify the long life of this product. My gas in the bike is 2 years or 3 riding seasons old and the bike still starts and idles as if the fuel was new.

    I used to paint and hated waxes but in this case the final coat should be a good wax as mentioned above.

    If you have a bench vise put the end in it a turn from the top. Get some deep creep a sea foam product I found it to be the best rust eater around these parts.

    I have a bright blue light on mine and my friends. On a trip I could see her among the cars almost 1 mile behind us. Motovan used to sell them for $13.95, they have a 65 watt low and 100 watt high, Bright blue but at night you can't see any beam in front of you and that was a little hard to get used to.

    I should have said that I put my bike away on the first of june 2007 not the fall. I was so excited about the bike starting I couldn't thunk rite. I would love to move. Are there any jobs in texas for a old motorcycle tech that is real slow nowadays on account of everywhere hurts. This coming summer I'm going to try instructing the safety course up here. Stopped 5 years ago after 15 due to serious medical problems ( I know something is going to kill me but I never thought it would be my backside?

    The province wants almost $2000.00 for a years insurance if I put$1000.00 value on the machine.

    My bike hasn't been started since I put away in the fall of 2007. I used sea foam in the fuel and parked thinking I would be riding again the next spring. As it turned out I haven't been able to afford the insurance so the fuel sat until today. I borrowed a battery and tried just for fun and it started without any fuss. Sea foam a miricle tune in a can.

    Bought my 84 Royale in 05. I did a complete strip down and repair/rebuilt just about everything. Had 14,000 miles now has 20,000 I'm 2nd owner.

    If the float valve assembly is worn you should replace all 4. They come as a set needle and seat. Look carefully at the tip of the needle to see if there is a ring around it. If so replace if not take a chance but test the carbs off the bike. Good luck.

    Well now I'm 61 years young and most days I feel all that and then some. I have owned somewhere in the neighbourhood or 50 motorcycles but have not ridden all of them. I bought a bunch just to fix and sell. My Honda 900f was my favorite bike for many happy years but none of the others compare to my 84 VR. I have been married for 19 years to #2 wife. I have 4 daughters 7 grandsons and 19 foster daughters and 7 foster sons, 2 dogs 3 bikes in my name and I'm getting a 1980 KZ1300B2 in a few days. My greatest joy is my 7 year old adopted daughter who is keeping me moving on my toes every day. Happy and safe riding to all.

    Also our insurance rate varies depending on what value you place on the bike. My 84 VR that sells for $4500. to $5000 I value at $1000. and still pay $1749. per year or $374.00 for the riding season, May to end of Sept. If I want full value coverage it almost doubles. That's why I haven't been on the road for 3 years.

    I went on a boat cruse in our fair city when 1 of the crew told me the captain wanted to see me. I went to the bridge where the captain was and he started off by saying he would like to see "my group" on 1 of the cruse's. When I asked him what group he asked if I was a member of the Hells Angels who happened to be in the city recruting. I told him just because I had on a leather vest, a long beard and tattoos and an ear ring that I was a motorcycle enthusiest not a biker. My wife and I still laugh about that trip.

    If you have an impact driver once you cut the slot use it to sart the bolt out then use a screwdriver. If you can get on the head with vise grips that should work also.
