I had to think about this one and I can be wrong but! The Throttle Valve Assembly (slider) could be hanging up and you may not catch it when doing the carb syncing. This will make it run ruff and kill gas milage. Just something to keep in mind when looking it the carbs.

I have been using the super tech oil filters for years in our cars and light trucks and also motorcycles. The Yamaha OEM filters used on the Royal Stars I have seen where someone cut one of them open and it was made just like the old filters found in heating oil filters! Its just a tube with a stack of felt pads and put inside that canister, so just about any thing out there will be better.

It sounds like you did every thing right and it should be doing better than 28 MPG. Can you ID the Pipes I'm sure someone here can tell you just what jets you need to go with them and you may want to get a cheap bottle of carb cleaner from wal-mart 4.Oz. will Of it is all thats needed.

I have not tried this my self! Its said there is a wire that runs up under the seat on the left hand side that go's to the carb heaters and some where just under the seat & tank there is a quick disconnect in the wire! You can instal a switch and mount it to the frame under the seat and all you would need is a switch, wire and some crimp on connectors to mach the connectors thats already there.

I'm not so sure it was one of the thing our founders intended, but the new $1 dollar coin is the first U.S. Minted Coin that does not have the words LIBERTY on it when struck. One of our founding Statesmen said its a reminder that what you hold in your hand is one of your Liberty's keep it if you can.

Now this is what every one needs to know Thanks I got this bike used from a dealer and they are not going to replace a battery unless it really needs it. I suspect its going or getting weak as it getting a little harder to start! The starter is using most of the power it has left to it and not enough getting to ignition coils.

Children’s ATV sales banned?!?!?! Feds at it again
ToRide1 replied to CMIKE's topic in Watering Hole
Thats just it most of the manufacturers are using high tech pants many of them to day are water based and safer for the work environment and faster and easer to use. Next it will be the batteries. many are not thinking its the lead they don't want the general public to access to lead. -
Night riding on the interstates -- what's the big deal?
ToRide1 replied to Dave77459's topic in Watering Hole
I posted earlier and has anyone played around with lighting in the inferred range on the front of their bikes? I have in the woods and my back yard and the eyes of animals just glow from it, wonder if it can be used with the white lighting we use and still work for spotting deer or moose* (*just a very large deer) -
Children’s ATV sales banned?!?!?! Feds at it again
ToRide1 replied to CMIKE's topic in Watering Hole
There are some people inside and outside of our government and their agenda is! They want a zero tolerance lead ban and will even use the protect the kids thing to get what they want. they already have done the same with kids clothes this year and it will cost millions to have it all tested before it can be sold. -
Night riding on the interstates -- what's the big deal?
ToRide1 replied to Dave77459's topic in Watering Hole
I can't see why people would have a problem with night riding and your a lot more visible to cages and yes deer can be a problem but just keep scaning the road sides way ahead of you and you will note the amber eyes glowing and just slow down some. -
I'm surprised they don't have it so the speedo can be re-calibrated to begain with.

So far most of the owners here of these bikes take very good care of them. The engine that these bike use has been around for some time and proven to be very reliable and many reports of these bikes going 250-300. thousand miles, and you having owned a bike should know a little about what your looking at! Check the Wheel Bearings and look to see how the Brake Pads are and look for crack's where the side bags and trunk, faring & lower cowling mount or attach. Tires is a no brainer first look should tell you if they need replacing. Any here know the blue book on a 2000. Venture?.

So would anybody know what's going to happen with Bike week number #2 ?. As its a problem child that Central Myrtle Beach had to deal with and not be viewed as raciest with doing so. I have two step brothers that live there and they are business merchants in the central myrtle beach and they both told me it got way out of control last past year.

I use to live on Long island and the salt is every where in the environment as for the rust on the antenna couplers you can use a product called Brasso on the chrome parts and it can be found in wal-mart and hardware stores. Also I highly recommend the Turtle wax, ICE car wash and the Turtle wax ICE Synthetic Liquid Polish. Make sure you remove all the water spots before you apply the liquid pollish or you will be stuck with the water spots for quite some time.

I made a post on another thread you may want to give them a call and its right in your part of the country.

Well there are a few of them heres one I use! FOREMOST Insurance, Grand Rapids Michigan and they only Insure Motorcycles, ATV's, and RV's and for anyone that wants a price quote call 1-800-527-3907. I know of one other company that go's by the name of Dairy Land and I don't have a phone for them, I think there is about 4 Insurance companies that do just motorcycle's.
-
Boy it would take three pages for me to tell you what I know about Motorcycle's & insurance companies. I have been telling people for years! You don't go to a auto insurance company for motorcycle insurance.

Boy that fixed it and fast.

So how well do cowboy boots work with 2nd Gen Controls?
ToRide1 replied to GG54172's topic in Riding Gear
I have seen lot of people using cowboy boots while riding their motorcycle and the biggest complaint is the dress boots soles are slicker than snail snot. Milwaukee makes a cowboy style boot. My self I'll stick with Milwaukee's time proven Trooper boot.
