I never had it happen to me but had a few friends that hit a bird while riding and no windshield, said it was like getting hit by a baseball.

Confession: My wife found some thongs hidden in my drawer!
ToRide1 replied to BEER30's topic in Watering Hole
I can't understand the thong thing! We spend most of our lives pulling stuff out of our butt crack and people want to put something up in there. -
I hear ya on being inseam challenged, You should post a thread for help from any members here. I live to far from you, So any Canadians want to help a fellow canuck.

I don't understand what happened with the differential end, and the shop should be able to deal with the tire and rotor attached. You put a little grease on both ends of the driveshaft don't over do it! just enough to fill the splines on the universal end, Note there is a plastic inspection cap that you can remove on the driveshaft shroud and its may take some time getting it into the universal some times you get lucky it go's right in. and don't forget to grease the hub, look you see.

The Appellations that just about makes the border between Virginia & West Virginia, makes for a great ride in it self. West Virginia is nothing but winding roads and small mountains and it can take a whole day trying travel from the southern end to the eastern panhandle. What ever rout you decide on, I'm sure it will be a great memory as one of the most fun rides you did.

If the Mufflers pass your states inspection they must honer it as legal in their state & or city limits. The state of Maryland does not require yearly state safety inspections or stickers showing such, but people from maryland can ride into any state and not get fined for not having a safety inspection.

I decided to get back into riding in 2005 when gas prices started getting high and picked up a used 2005 Yamaha 650 V-Star We still have it and last year picked a used 2005 Venture. One day had the wife on the back and had to stop for gas and seeing it take only 3 gallons of gas and the trip ode said we went 163.5 miles on that little gas convinced her to let me get a biger one.

I remember seeing a thread started here on Kenda Tires and from what few were saying about them, it was looking promising as a high mileage tire.
-
Yes you can use it for all the pivot points for the sock and swing arm. Note there is bushing's inside where the Links are bolted to the swing arm and to the sock and they should slide out and put a little grease on the outside of them too & the bolts but not the threads! use lock-tight on that part.

Leeman puts out some really nice & sharp looking stuff and his shop is about 15 miles from me here in West Virginia in the city of Martinsburg.

It your veteran of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, you may be entitled to more than you know. If you enlisted into the armed services before Bush senior took office you got a contract and full entitled to a lot of Va benefits. Yes you read right if they turn you down and your Vietnam vet and enlisted into the service! You just tell them thats not what the contract said when I joined the service.

There I told him and you can find it posted there I used the same screen name as I do here.

16K Mile maintenence...How Much?
ToRide1 replied to Richb's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I don't know, I'm afraid to ask. You should try hooking up with some of guys here as they do plan get toughens for just that. You will get the hands on learning you need to own a bike and its fun. Start a thread asking for anyone in your state about it. -
Sorry about that! Midway does have it and its in the Reloading Equipment listing, Moly 6 Oz. Product# 183-655 $17.79. Now this is a very finely ground powder and 6 Oz. does not sound like much but it a pint or more of the stuff and mixed with heavy wheel bering grease it should do the trick.
-
I posted on another thread here today a little abut the moly grease and you could look for a big tub & or tube of grease to your liking and then you can order Molybdenum Disulfide from http://WWW.midwayusa.com And mix it with your grease, say 1/4 cup grease and 1/4 cup of moly powder and end up with a 50/50 mix! 50% moly and you can work it out you can have a 60% moly just like Honda sells. You end-up with a life time supply rear end lube and it also be used for wheel bearings and other stuff.
-
Indeed it can, The moly will imbed into the surface of the medal and it acts a lubricant much like graphite only much better because it attaches it self to the medal. Moly powder is also being offered by suppliers of ammo reloading supplies for treating bullets using it as a supper lubricant.
-
That stinks and they should know better. That grease is great stuff and the last time I paid for some from a local delear it was $12 for the tube, I can see maybe using a whole tube on a swingarm relube.

OK I went and double checked and the company use to go by the name of Battery Mart and it was a chain of stores in the reign and yes its in Martinsburg WV on the south side of city limits and located in a strip mall. I got a battery from them last year for my Yamaha 650 V-Star and believe it or not it was the only place I could find that had a battery in stock.

The address is West Virginia but! The Phone number is a Virginia and I know I live just 15 miles from martinsburg and about 20 miles from Winchester Virginia and thats a Viginia Area Code. All Of West Virginia is Area Code (304)

I'm now wondering if these people are trying to draw the bike week number #2. crowd from Myrtle Beach.

The Honda Moly 60 paste grease was made for just what you wanted to use it for. The stuff is a little pricey but perfect for anything on the bike that needs grease and it go's above & beyond what Yamaha calls for.
