  1. I'm starting to get the Idea that most of the mechanics today don't know anything about carburetors and setting the float level while a pain in the butt once done it should be good for many years. Also we do have people that need to run their bikes more often and I'm not picking on you but I have seen a lot of people buy a motorcycle and its nothing but a recreational toy that gets ridden only once or twice a year.
  2. Hay thats great and go EZ for the first few rides until she gets used to it. I have been trying to teach my wife to ride the Yamaha 650 V-Star I have and its slow going.
  3. I have the stock shield on my venture but I read about it on other forums were some have gone with a much shorter clear view shield and report that it even improved their gas mileage. Can any body here verify this?.
  4. Cheek the rubber vent hose's that go to each fuel bowl they may be plugged by a mud-dubber. If you cant blow threw it there your problem, hot water and a stiff wire is in order.
  5. See that I learned something new.
  6. You can try Bestem, just open the Yamaha link on the lest side and find your bike. Trunk Rack bag $46.95 Perfect fit on the stock Yamaha Rack. Saddle bag liners & Trunk liners combo $64.95. http://WWW.bestemusa.com
  7. WOW thats high, I'm in the U.S. and I only pay about $16 for plate and I have two bikes one is costing me $130 a year and the other is $350 for full coverage.
  8. They do make magnetic oil pan & block heaters and if you used bungee cords to hold it in contact with oil pan it would work.
  9. I just barely got my venture started on new years day for our local Polar Bear ride, it was 23F that morn and I'm using Shell Oil 5W-40 Syn. What's needed is 10W-30 or 5w-30 Syn.
  10. I'm told that Bestem is the same company that makes the bags for Yamaha and the trunk bag fits the rack perfectly and they make saddle bag & trunk liners also at a bargain price.
  11. We hit 50F today at my end of the state and you say it will go to 60 tomorrow, I'm going riding.
  12. Can you ride it around the house and park behind the house! Out of sight out of mind, and if so may be getting a shed to put it in. As a rule Royal Stars are not high on the list of bikes to steal.
  13. I say go with their advice and take a micrometer that piston it too could be out of round. Now if it was oil starving it would show in more than one place like the crank shaft and cam. It could also be detonation but I doubt it.
  14. I'm new here and Folks carful with buying these Whole house generators! Almost all cities now have it setup if the power go's out so does the natural gas and propane is very pricey some of these generators can go threw a lot of it fast. One week of running can cost you $800 depending on how big a unit you have. Bigger is not always better.
  15. To think they want to charge you for a trailer that weighs less than the bike.
