Mufflers, Collectors and pipes...oh my!

As far as I can tell the slip ons are just the muffler section that slips on our collectors. Yes there is a couple of places to get new collectors look for the VMax and you will find them but they are very expensive. I would look for a set on ebay or have the collector welded. Jeff -
Kit you might want to tell upper management that they need to advertise the Venture alot more and get away from so many star adds. Good luck with the repairs and keep informed Jeff

Bob a drill and easy outs is the proper way to remove the bolts.Take the studs that are left and go to the hardware store and get replacement bolts with allen heads. The original bolts are just for theft proofing of the switch. You do not need to use break off head bolts unless you want to.Some locksmiths carry them but they are a bit pricey. Jeff

Why not get the Local TV station to do a report on this.In Norfolk VA the tv news stations like to get involved in things like this. You can also look at this site to see if there is any helpfull info. http://home.ama-cycle.org/amaccess/laws/result.asp?state=NY Jeff -

stator change
muffinman replied to MikeM8560's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Mike the stator is an easy change all you need is the stator cover gasket and the middle gear gasket. It would help the removal of the stator screws to have an impact driver but it is not really needed. Also use Yamabond 4 or 7 on the wires and black rubber feedthrough. the stator job start to finish should only take you 1 hour. What Can Cause This???
muffinman replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have been told that eventually you will need to dry it out again.I loose 1 cyl in the heavy rain at speeds under 65mph but have not looked into re sealing my tci.I Just live with it although it is on my list of things to do eventually because if it still runs it aint broke. Jeff -
Maybe this site will help Reiney http://www.qontroldevices.com/ Jeff

I too have been wondering how Dallas is doing. It would be nice to have him stop in every now and then. Poor HDHTR has been working way to much lately we talk every now and then. I am looking forward to our next lunch get together. Jeff

No that is not the complained about chirp but I would not worry about it. Does it do it when the clutch is pulled in? All of these bikes have different quirks and if all is working right I would not even give it a thought. Jeff
