  1. Since I installed mine it has been wrong. Reads 230-240 when running no matter what the temps outside are. I will replace it when the urge hits me.
  2. Lilbeaver, I have no issue with what you said. It is true and to the point. I am just trying to talk myself into a major electircal change, which I believe I just lost on my own steam. I think I will just put new (updated) load balancers in the system. Let's face it, what was good in 2002 is obsolete now.
  3. Enjoy your Ultra it is a well balanced machine. No chastising here.
  4. All true, but the only time the load equalizers are used is in the turn signals and emergency flashers. These by definition are not continuous or used all that much compared to the scheme of the lights on the bike. I run all LED except for the headlamps and pass lights. The load equalizers I have now have been fine for eight years, just getting tired I guess.
  5. I never thought of that. Thanks
  6. Harrison Specialties, LLC has a three prong flasher for motorcycles/cars that will flash from one diode to twenty amps. Claims that this is in place of flash modules (read heaters) for LED conversions. Is anybody using something similar. My LED conversions are getting faster flash than they used to, so I figure the modules are going bad. I have had them on since 2002.
  7. I for one found this very informative. Although I don't understand the total concept, it is interesting that we have the mathematicians, engineers and bean counters to make this all happen.
  8. I am posting to this thread so I can find it again in the future. I have 130,500 miles on my 02 RSMV without any failures of any kind. I feel lucky. One of these days the mono shock will fail, not because of bad parts but from so much use. I will need this thread to decide on a replacement. Thanks to all for this information.
  9. Too much information, I still can't sleep. I hear a rooster crowing every morning and I feel sorry that he has nothing to do with evolution. He just happened along since the chicken was first.
  10. When in the garage my bike rolls into a WheelDock and locks in. I do most all my maintenance while the bike is verticle. I have the Sears jack and the Carbon One adapter for extreme maintenance.
  11. What about the rooster? When did it come? After the chicken or after the egg. And how did the first egg get fertilized if the rooster came after the egg. ????????????????? I can't sleep!
  12. I replaced the Barnett with the PCW and will not go back. I had the same tight release but everything broke in perfectly after some miles. I love the PCW clutch upgrade.
  13. Just put BUBS on the rear or the whole BUBS header and pipes. It will solve all problems with the whine. I have had them on for nine years and I still get compliments as to there sound.
  14. Why would you even need a backhoe of this size? That is a big machine to start with. I have no service manuel for it but i you don't get the info you need here, let me know. I have a life long friend in Nebraska who owns twenty-some Case machines for his service company.
  15. I was there three weeks ago (my home town) on my Venture. Came north on I-29 and onto I-85 West, and what a mess at the 13th St. exit and on to the 24th St. exit. Glad that I got passed it.
  16. Thank you all! I have always loved the posts here and want them to continue the way the have in the past. This guy was way over the top!
  17. Don't you just hate it when this stuff happens? You are still with us and that is all that is important. After 51 years on a motorcycle, I still hate to hear of accidents. God be with you.
  18. Please, Don, cut this out of our posts!
  19. If I get my oil level above the center of the glass, it belches out the overflow tubes under the bike. I put just a little too much in the last oil change and the glass was about 3/4 full and it has been dripping out when I stop the bike. The good news is that is almost down to 1/2 now.

Good reason to check your lights regularly. In that many miles you should have found the problem. No sympathy!
  21. Was there three years ago, but I am going to pass this year. Have fun and take the Swamp Azz ride.
  22. I have thought this same way over my 51 year riding time frame, and I have concluded that the rider bears the most responsibility for his/her safety. Yes there are distracted drivers (drugs, alchohol, cell phones, texting, children, etc. etc.) but if I ride as I should these people are minimal. The constant head turning/eyes looking will point these problems out unless they come up from behind. And motorcycles are weak against greater masses so if you ride, ride smart. I have never had an encounter with another vehicle while riding, but I have had many scares. If you feel the fear when you ride, then it is time to quit. If you feel the need to be cautious, then you are right on target.:backinmyday:
  23. I second this! Also if you put in the gauges, check the temp gauge in boiling water to verify its accuracy. The one I installed (Sunpro) is high by 40 degrees. I read 230-240 when warmed up and 140 when sitting in the shop in 99-100 degree weather. I should have thought of this before the install, but I have another and will change them out some day.
  24. The voltage regulator is defective. It is supposed to regulate the voltage (duhh) and it is not doing its job. Get a new one. BTW why did you replace the old one?
  25. A lot of peg scraping by both those bikes, very impressive riding. :clap2:
