Where I live the roads are all hills and corners, I am always changing gears and never get into 5th. The mileage improves considerably when I get off island and onto a highway where I can get up to speed and cruise in 5th.

A friend of my wifes' put us on Facebook. The next day I got an e-mail from "Candy" in Victoria who said I looked real interesting and she really wanted to talk to me. I checked, it would only cost $ 6.00/minute to talk to her. I don't go on Facebook but apparently I have over 200 "friends". I probably know about ten of them. We rented a car in Las Vegas. When we went to pick it up we darn near got arrested as they had already given me a car. Another guy with the same name got there ahead of me. We went on a cruise and there was considerable confusion when we checked in. My wife is Janet Butler and there were three of them on the boat.

Early detection is the key. You caught it early so you have every chance of beating it. In my case I had too many tumors for the radioactive pellets and with my lungs they did not want to operate so I had radiation and drugs. It all worked out. 5 years now and psa .025

My son just moved to Toronto. He took his bike. I just had to razz him about how I spent a couple days here sitting on the sun deck with wine and a good book.

Just said goodbye to my son. He is leaving the Island and heading to some village east of the rockies. I believe it is called Toronto. Going to meet up with his girlfriend and find some work. There just isn't any work out here for him. Has his bike in the van and is looking to ride back there next summer.

Looks like you are going to have to head north to get warm.

At the airport I worked with city police, drug squad and RCMP in an unofficial capacity. To me they were just regular guys doing a difficult job. There was the occasional jerk but most of them were in traffic detail (wonder why).

It depends on where you are in Canada. Things on the west coast cost a lot more than the same items on the east coast. They claim that is the cost of living in paradise! I think it is just a rip off. I used to work for the airlines in Vancouver. We would get shipments at the airport and send them air freight back to Toronto and Montreal. A week later you would see the same items for sale $50.00 in Vancouver $40.00 in Toronto and $30.00 in Montreal. I imagine it is the same in the States. It is a lot costlier in New York than in Texas. As for the medical, I have had cancer twice now. Treatments, transportation and even meals cost me nothing. What would 7 weeks of daily radiation and a year of drugs and injections cost? I have no idea.

We went by bus from one town to another. Be aware that might makes right. The bus was passing a truck and sent a motorcycle off into the jungle without a thought. I was looking at a trip from Puerto Valarta up into the Sierra Madres' and down to the coast. You get either 650 or 1000 BMW dual purpose bikes and a van carries your luggage from town to town. hotels are all set up. Looks like it might be a nice trip with a group. I forget a lot of the details now but it sounded like fun.

Got divorced a long time ago. One night my son asked me for my side of the story. I said I thought he was too young and did not want to discuss it. He said "Dad! I am 42 years old! I can handle it!" Cra! When did that happen?

I do feel for you. I have lived here for 34 years and have never locked my doors. No need to. I do not own a gun. No need to. I have never been assaulted. we have full medical, for both of us it costs about $ 150.00 per year. I like it . I am not bragging. I am just saying that there is a difference in philosophy.

Probably a chicken farm. Lots of chickens to get rid of, not many horses.

I had exactly the same problem. Found out that if I had the radio or tape deck on when I turned the bike off the battery would drain. Solved the problem by turning off radio/tape deck/cb before shutting off bike.

Old is when.......when.....er....what? Beware the church bells! It was noon and my ex wife and I had just arrived in Inverness, Scotland, and were in our third floor room directly across the street from a majestic old cathedral. We decided to celebrate our arrival by.....well...you know. Just at the appropriate (or inappropriate) moment the cathedral boomed out with a chorus of " Onward Christian Soldiers". We were both laughing so hard it was game over.

It has been a long time since I have seen these but I think I have it right... In Montreal it is illegal to ride a motorcycle while wearing headgear which would alarm a reasonable person. In Toronto it is illegal for a woman to ride a motorcycle while wearing a negligee. (I may have Toronto and Montreal crossed up there.) In Alberta it is illegal to carry a woman on the back of a motorcycle unless you have a shotgun slung over your left shoulder. It is also illegal to ride a motorcycle to church on Sunday. In B.C. it is illegal for a woman weighing over 200 lbs to ride a motorcycle while wearing shorts.

What speed do you cruise at on the highway?
Sailor replied to shikano53's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Usually just enough over the speed limit to be enjoyable but not quite fast enough to get a ticket. That is usually faster than the flow but not fast enough to draw attention.
